Hello Folks. This item is fresh from an estate and selling for a fair price. great for your display of dolls and bears. A Victorian Country 1800's- 19thc. Childs Bed Cradle. The locks work. Moves fine. solid and sturdy. The wheels on feet are original and are the white glass or porcelain. I really cannot say what type of wood used. Walnut- Maple- Mahogany- Cherry? I know for sure NOT Oak or Chestnut. The top part of both the headboard& footboard has the Pressed Star motif. The slats are complete. There is a mattress that is from the 1940's that's vinyl covered and its in great condition. I really don"t believe the woods has been striped BUT I'm not an expert BUT look at the photos and you'll see this is a quality made item and will last you and your family for years to come. Offered as found. with several coats of very old paint. this Iron bed is a Ivory Color. and you can see several layers of white/off white paint underneat. An Antique All Iron Bed with Original Wheels Now the wife and I had a little discussion on how to name the size. It looks like a single to me She insists it is a 3/4 bed or a Twin Size. Looking on the ebay some call it s Full Size. Now you can be the judge. The bed measures on the outside 41 1/2 inches wide and 78 inches long. on the inside of the original Iron Rails it measures 41 1/2 wide by 71 1/2 Long. The Bed is 36 inches tall at the head and 23 inches tall at the foot. Looking closely at the bed it is evident that some of the foot has been removed. Please look at the pictures closely. Bed assembles easily with attached metal fittings, has 7 spaces for slats. Holes on bottom for casters. Measures 59" long and 30" wide. Headboard is 43" tall, footboard 19" tall. Antique ash murphy bed circa late 1800s restored - new mattress
This is a late 1800s fold down/ flip out murphy bed. A real space saver. Completely refinished and it has a brand new futon mattress. The inside is an ample 75" x 48" It's made of ash and has a handsome quarter sawn front face with some fancy carving to boot. Note: We have 2 other murphy beds listed at the moment(4/18/14) one is quarter sawn oak, the other is a top-of-the line walnut model from 1885. Sorry that I can't take this out for better pics at the moment. This is an antique bedroom set. Headboard and Footboard with all bed parts, Dresser with Mirror and side table. This was my parents and at once time an antique dealer looked at it and said it was a known maker I think in Vermont from the mid 1800's and worth in the neighborhood of a couple thousand dollars. It's time that it finds a new home, if you love it great- if your a dealer and can make money on it great as well. Antique Victorian Free Standing Murphy Bed- ORIGINAL
This is a very sturdy antique piece of furniture. It has not been stripped or refinished. It was found in a house in New England that my grandparents bought that had been empty many years. They purchased the home and bed in 1960. And it was used many times for guests. When they sold the house the bed moved to West Virginia to my in-laws home. The mirrored front is original and has aged fairly well. The mechanism still works to lower it easily to become a full size bed for guests. Or it would be great for display. This bed would love a new home. It really is a piece of history. Must be seen to be appreciated. Looks like the old versions in the 1890's Sears Roebuck catalog. Would definitely need a new mattress. For sale is a matched pair of antique brass beds. These beds are old and have been used so they have a great patina. They are not in"New" condition and do have some signs of wear. Each bed is 42" wide x 79" long. The head board is 33 1/2" high off the ground. The foot board is 26" off the ground. Each bed has metal wheels under each post. AMAZING 1800's Mahogany Empire Rope Sacking Sleigh Bed Canvas Bedding Civil War
This item is totally outside of our norm so bare with us. We purchased this unique bed at a local thrift store here in Southwest Virginia. Zip 24073. This area has a rich history of Civil War battle sites& estates. We don't know the history of this item but from what we find it is dates the early 1800's. It's either a full or 3/4 size bed. I measured the headboard& its abt. 58" wide on outside& abt. 51" wide on the inside of the legs. When assembled you would tighten/turn the 4 posts that are attached to the canvas sail/sacking bedding. The metal gears/teeth would catch in the grooves to keep the bed tight. This is where the sayings"Sleep tight" Hit the sack" originate. Your bedding/mattress would go on top. Heard some people use a futon mattress on these! There is another bed like this on ... moreebay which is in better condition($2000) but does not come with the vintage canvas sacking bottom or metal hardware(RARE) From what we can make out the canvas sail material has been printed"Portland ME" and some numbers. Not sure of the meaning of this. We have more photos available if you are interested. We are not antique collectors but do know this is a rare piece of history that should go in a museum. We can't use at our house& would love for this to find an appreciative home. When looking at pics of others its missing a slat in head board& foot board. Wood plug on end of foot board& has a spot or two that could use attention. Missing 1 rope peg. What would you expect for an almost 200 year old bed? Made to last! RARE Late 1700's to Early 1800's French 4 Poster Canopy Bed made of English Walnut. This bed is a 3/4. Purchased in mid 80's in Paris. France from local antique dealer. Has 4 finials that are not on bed due to ceiling height. Need at least 81/2 ft ceilings for finial allowance. Canopy is solid wood. This bed is all original except textiles. Well cared for and rolls easy on carpet. In remarkable condition considering age. Box spring and mattress custom made in England at time of purchase. DIMENSION: 501/2Wx84Hx77L. R J Horner style Empire Revival Three Piece Bedroom Set
This is an incredible three piece bedroom set in heavily carved mahogany. It is in the American Empire Revival style popular around 1900 in America. The two premier manufacturers of this style of furniture were George Flint and R. J. Horner. Both of which were located in New York with showrooms in New York City. This set is attributed to the Horner firm based upon the carving being similar to known listed examples. The bed( which is a full) features a huge headboard centered by a deeply detailed carved basket of flowers flanked by scrolls, this center section is roughly 5 feet tall. All the posts are spiral carved with acanthus leaves and end in detailed paw feet. The finials are removed from the posts due to the ceiling height of the current bedroom in the residence. It is upstairs and is lower than 8 feet) These posts are roughly 7 feet ... moretall with the finials. As the photo shows there is a lovely arched foot board with carved cresting. The bed measures 7 feet in length x 6 feet in width(it accommodates. a standard mattress) The matching dresser features matching carving on columns ending in paw feet flanking the three tiers of drawers. Drawers have original brass drop pulls. There is a huge beveled mirror with a top curve which has a carved crest to match the bed head board. The mirror tilts on detailed acanthus columns which match the bed posts. Dresser measures roughly 5 feet wide x 2 1/2 feet deep x 6 feet tall. The drawer fronts and head and foot boards feature beautiful vertical crotch mahogany. Accompanying the bed and dresser is a wonderful side table with double pedestals and paw feet carved to match the bed and dresser. This is 2 1/2 feet tall x roughly 3 feet wide x roughly 2 feet deep. These pieces would make an incredible addition to any home or bed and breakfast. Late nineteenth century at its finest and from an early Cherokee home in Tahlequah. Circa 1860– 1880, which boasts a single tier structure with a triple carved floral panel(a sign of good quality) and spindle headboard. Towards the top the headboard sits an open floral carved fretwork dome. Further above, sits an intricately carved floral crown, which is flanked by two angels. The footboard, headboard and sides rails also feature a carved floral fretwork. The footboard also features turned beaded spindles below a barley twist shaped footboard rail. Above the bed frame, the barley twist tapered posts support a protruding carved floral dentil canopy. There are very pretty floral motifs sitting at the top of the posts. This bed has a mid-brown colour it boasts the original polish, which is why it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. Antique Fancy 19th C. American Horner Vanity With Tag. This is a great antique Horner vanity. The vanity is very rare and hard to fine. This is a great 19c piece of furniture. Great fancy design with three mirrors. The vanity has its original tag on bottom that reads"R.J Horner C.O. Condition: one of its legs is separated and will need to be repaired. There are some cracks on the wood near legs and there is one crack on each side of the vanity as pictured. Piece was glued on bottom and some of the legs as shown in pictures. This is a rare and amazing bedroom set that has managed to stay in use and stay complete to this day. The marble on all of the pieces has no cracks or chips that I am aware of. The marble is a gorgeous warm variegated blend of natural stone. See the pics! The 3 wide bevel mirrors are in great shape.
