This is a ... morevery unique full size bed with rounded edges and very nice rosette and scrollwork castings supporting the curved tubes and straight rods. The rails are marked IDEAL. The bed is pretty sturdy and the hitches fit nice and tight. All you see is what is included. There are no supportive slats. The bed measures roughly 54 inches wide and 80 inches long. The frame size is about 54x76 inches(mattress space) The headboard is about 6.4 inches tall and the footboard is about 40 inches tall. The paint is chipped all over which gives it a great look. But if it is going in a childs room, we would recommend sandblasting, priming and painting the entire bed. This would be a great preventative measure to guard againt rust and further deterioration. Old Antique Ornate Wrought Iron Bed, Aged Red Paint, Cast Iron Decoratives, Full
Here's a nice old or antique wrought iron bed we received recently with some estate items. This one is probably from the 1880's to perhaps 1920's with red paint and an assortment of what appear to be cast iron decorative pieces for an ornate appearance. I'm not sure what style this would be called but these decorative pieces and curved lines might be called an art nouveau style versus a primitive style. The red paint has signs of age and use giving it a nice naturally aged appearance. Though some may elect to paint it. This is a full size bed with the space between the rails at about 53.5 inches and the space between the headboards about 75 inches. The headboard stands about 61 inches or slightly over 5 feet tall, and the foot board is about 46 inches tall at the tallest point. The angle iron cross bar brace piece at the bottom ... moreof the headboard has been broken at some point. The other connective pieces hold the headboard together well but this should be braced, clamped or tack welded by someone handy. This bed is relatively clean but has been stored for some years and could use a little more light cleaning. Overall a nice antique wrought iron bed for those who seek functional furniture that provides an interesting decorative appearance. This bed is being listed for"Pickup Only" and is located about 15 minutes from the junction of Interstates 89 and 93 near Concord in central New Hampshire. Pickups are most easily arranged nights and weekends. Antique British Cast Iron & Brass 'Spirits Be Gone' Bed
VERY unique antique(circa 1860-1870) British iron and brass double/full size bed with canopy. Dimensions: 53" wide by 85" long. Has 3 round medallions on the footboard set in round bulleted brass frames with inlaid copper and mirrored stars used to ward off evil spirits. This was accomplished by setting mirrors around the bed. And when not-so-friendly spirits would see their reflection in the mirrors they would get frightened and go packing! The bed is missing three of the tiny brass balls that go on top of the finals on the head and footboard in addition to what would appear to be larger brass knobs or balls that would sit on the top 4 corners. Antique French Black Cast Iron Double Bed 1890s Hand Painted Pinecones Lovely Condition- PICK UP ONLY Description: An antique black painted cast-iron double bed with oval hand-painted inserts. It is located in Santa Cruz. California, and is for pick-up only. It includes headboard, footboard and two rails. The mattress set is not included. This antique French bed has been in our family for 24 years. It is approximately 79" long. 52" wide. As it is European, it is about three inches narrower than a standard American double bed. An American box spring or platform will not fit down inside the frame. Rather, the slats are arranged on top of the frame and the mattress just sits on top of the slats. The mattress hangs over about 1 1/2" on each side, which is no problem. We have used it every day for 24 years and it is quite sturdy( ... morealthough.ahem. we have only had a single sleeper in this bed so we cannot testify to its accommodating more than one! When we purchased it. The oval tin tole-painted inserts were missing, so we had them custom made and professionally painted with three-dimensional pinecones at the head and message at the foot"Rest and be thankful. It has small issues- some of the wee brass bits are a little wobbly. The black paint is lightly chipped in a few places; the old brass is quite tarnished. We don't list a lot of furniture on eBay. So I'm not sure where to start with this matching headboard and footboard from an antique brass and cast iron bed. So let's start with some measurements. They are about 54" wide and the headboard is 61" tall and the footboard 37" The iron cross pieces are designed with tapered conical holes where the side rails attach, while the upper parts are made of a mix of brass and iron(the magnet test yields a variety of results) suggesting that many of the parts that appear to be brass might just be a brass wash or perhaps a brass tube sleeving a heavier cast iron tube. They have some dents and scratches and discolored areas, and, although it's been a while since we set it up, I seem to recall it's pretty fiddly to put together, with those vertical slats developing a tendency ... moreto slide out of their mounting holes. Because of the bulk and weight involved. We're advertising them as"local pickup only" and we are in Cornish, Maine. However, if you really want it shipped to distant parts, then e-mail us prior to bidding, and we'll see what we can negotiate. Original double cast iron sprung bed base. Complete and in lovely condition. The main frame(Currently Painted green) will require some cleaning and repainting. So it’s a refurbishment project. All springs, etc. are complete and in really good condition. There are four end brackets(Please see photos) for fixing the bed base. These can be removed as they are bolted to the main base frame. Also included the original ring spanner to loosen the bolts. Hinges work perfectly in the middle to close up and transport the base. This is a very sweet child-sized Victorian iron bed.old chippy paint and old brass. It has a wire mesh platform meant to hold up a feather tick. And here's the best part. it has the side pieces. Up for sale here is a very nice pair of antique 19th Century French Country figural cherub cast iron beds(Headboards and footboards only. NO rails or finials) The tops are cherubs. The middle panels are sheet steel. The panels appear to have been originally painted with a pattern. They present much better than my amateur photos. No rails or finials. One footboard top was cracked. But has been brazed(welded) back together. They have some rust. Panels have a hole or two near the bottoms. These are extremely rare beds. They would look great hanging on a wall, as garden gates, or repurposed as signs for your shop. Of course you could have some rail built and use them as they were originally intended. Simple and sturdy in design except for the acanthus wrap around near the top of each column. A rare example of a late Victorian bed which has survived in excellent condition despite all odds. This is for a very rare and very hard to find solid wood antique spindle bed. Wheels on the bottom with cast iron. Heavy side rails. This is an antique twin bed. Marked VONG on the rails. No other manufacturer name. Very, very old, dating to late 1800s or early 1900s. Normal surface wear. Small dent on the headboard, can be fixed, by sanding and staining if wanted, see photo, it can be repaired. This bed is gorgeous a one-of-a-kind and very, very hard to find. I now went French in my bedroom. So I am just redecorating. The bed fits a full size mattress comfortably. Some full size boxsprings are a bit large; however I have never had a problem with this. In the picture you will see a mattress that has the pillow top. I prefer this because the bed with a boxspring and mattress is way high off the floor and you don't get to see the whimsical form of the lovely ironwork on the headboard.so that is my suggestion. I also would place a 3/4" plywood across the rails on the bottom to compensate for the boxspring. The bed is in excellent condition. Cast iron childs bed frame very old and creepy
Hi I am selling this old creepy looking iron childs bed frame I think it would make a good horrer film/performance prop or would be a suitable restoration project. It did have ceramic castors but due to age these are broken or missing but as u cant see it still has the brass features on the head board and foot board and has the jigsaw type brackets which means there is no need for bolts. Also as you can see there is a broken strap. Please note that this item is collection in person however delivery can be arranged for the colchester or Clacton- on- sea and surrounding areas at the cost of fuel. The headboard and footboard are both very very heavy and are 54” wide. The headboard is 68” tall and the footboard is 48” tall at the center. This will fit a full box springs that is 75” long. Someone has redone and painted this probably 25 plus years ago. So it does show an older coat of paint. As far as we are concerned its not worth talking about. The old restoration was done nice and shows nice wear as of today. We would recommend not to touch it up or any sort of repaint. It looks great the way it is!
