A standard queen mattress is 60in x 80 inches and i have a custom boxspring for it to account for the 2 inches that is is shorter. And yes i will sell the box spring with the bed all included in the price. The mattress DOES NOT need to be custom or cut down. I have a standard mattress and it fits fine. We believe this grand bed to have its original finish and features bountiful detailed carvings with a beautiful carved crest. Huge turned walnut finials that adorn the shoulders of the head-board and large carved rosettes, and oversized roundels and recessed burl walnut panels accent the entire bed. This bed has beautifully executed side rails and when the bed is bolted together its very tight and sturdy. There is a signature on the inside ledge of the footboard but I cannot make out the name. This elaborate 19th century bed is in wonderful antique condition and has a striking presence. The only apology I can see is an old repair to a joint area on the right side ... moreof the head-board which I have shown a shown a close up of in the pictures; appears solid and tight and not a distraction from this beautiful bed,just a part of the character from age and usage over the past 150 years or so. The internal mattress area measurements are 59" in width by 74” in length. A very fine highest quality craftsmanship American antique walnut Victorian Renaissance Revival matching two piece marble top bedroom set possible made by Herter Bros. Ca. 1870. Please see photo's they simply don't come much better than this regardless who the cabinet maker might be. In very good condition having its original surface or finish. Marble, mirror, its all there couple small pieces of molding replaced identical to the other. Height of the bed and dresser is around 8' foot 7" inches and around 66" inches wide. A very fine exceptional museum quality" American Antique Walnut Victorian Renaissance Revival" matching two piece marble top bedroom set possibly made by Herter Bros. Ca. 1870. The full center crest on the bed is 27" in height and 30" inches wide. In very good condition for its age having its original surface or finish. Gilding is original, marble, mirror, its all there couple small pieces of molding replaced identical to the other. Height of the bed and dresser is 8' foot 7" inches. Dresser is 60" wide and bed is 66" 1/4 inches wide and between the rails its 59" inches you should be able to squeeze in a queen size box spring in and most of the mattress will be ... moreabove the bed rail. This fabulous 19th century bedroom set features a gorgeous high-back bed and its matching marble top dresser which features a secret hidden drawer at the base. And matching marble top washstand. This bed sets up tight and secure and has a commanding presence all its own. The matching dresser appears to have its original mirror that's in excellent antique condition and offers a lift top storage area above the marble with the top drawer featuring beautiful lidded compartments with carved leaf pulls. All the drawers have period dove-tailed ends and the secret hidden drawer at the base is a great hiding placing for valuables. ... moreThe locks are intact on the dresser but we do not have they key. The matching marble top washstand makes a fabulous bedside table and the marble does show some dis-coloration as common in old marble.
