The headboard is 64 inches tall including the crown the footboard is 30 inches tall. The mattresses are 73.5 inches long and 34.5 inches wide. LET’S TALK CONDITION: Excellent condition for the age. Much better than what is typically found beds of this type and era, ready to use very clean and with a wonderful patina to the wood. With the original slats, no replacement wood no discoloration no significant or structural damage. The head side of the rails on each bed have a missing part of the decorative designee and the other rail with one intact and one repaired(see the third photo) One of the footboards has chips on the base of the columns(see last photo) and this footboard also has some loose joints giving it some slight pay, less than typical for antique bedframes. This lovely 19th century bedroom set features gorgeous incised carvings of potted flowers.Incised carvings of geometric designs and beautiful applied carvings of scrolls and shells on the head-board and foot-board. The Bed: The bed measures 62 1/2 inches in height at the head-board.39 1/2 inches in height to the top of the foot-board, with the outside with of the bed being 61 3/4 inches and outside length measuring 81 inches and this bed weighs approximately 200 lbs total. The inside mattress area measures 57 1/2 inches wide by 74 3/4 inches long and should fit a full size mattress set nicely, but one should always measure their own mattress set to assure proper fit. Rare antique bedroom set. Circa 1800s. This set is beautiful, is in fine condition, and is all original. Has never been refinished. Is complete with bed, dresser, and washstand. It still has the orginal box spring which is made with a wooden frame and has hinges to fold in half. All the handles,wheels and marble are also original. All pieces are hand made and hand carved with wooden inlays. This set came out of a historic plantation home in Fredericksburg, VA. Appraised for over $35,000 when I bought it 25 years ago.

We believe this dresser to have its original wide beveled mirror, original brass pulls and the original beveled edge chocolate marble. The bed measures 5' 9 1/2 inches high at the head-board. 34 inches high at the foot-board, with an outside width of 61 inches and outside length of 76 inches. The inside mattress area measures 54 1/2 inches wide by 76 inches long and should accommodate a full size mattress set nicely, but one should always measure their mattress set to assure proper fit. Altman and Company, New York City. My Mother purchased the set at Altmans. The set has a Custom ordered finish; hand painted in several layers of rich Bone White with a slight yellowish tint. The final coloring was achieved with ultra thin brushed lines in light brown. The coloring is blended in such a subtle way that nearly defies description! The finish is accented with hand pressed real Gold Leaf. The red you see mixed into the Gold Leaf is part of the leafing mixture. This set is made of walnut with flaming burl inlay. The turnings on the bed are huge! The drawer pulls on the dresser are different from the ones on the wash stand but all are old and fit correctly. Berkey and Gay 9 Piece Bedroom Set
Beautiful Berkey and Gay bedroom set. Approx. Crica 1880- 1890 based on Berkey and Gay mark that is on all pieces of the furniture. As per appraisal from 2001 the set is a Louis XVI sub-style. All the pieces are of flame grain veneered circassian walnut. Arched creasts pierced and carved three dimensional carving in laminated wood of clusters of roses tied with ribbons. Tapered fluted square columns on each side. Also acanthus leaf carving and beading. The beds have French caned headboards and footboards and are complete with siderails. All the pieces are on raised casters except the Bedside Stand. The dressers. Bedside stand, and vaniety all have custom glass tops. The set is in almost mint condition with no missing parts as to our knowledge. A more detailed account of each piece will be provided upon request. Vintage 1800's Victorian Bedroom Set. The set consists of a marbletop dresser measuring 90x43.5x17. A marbletop washstand measuring 40x29x13. And a full size bed with the carved headboard measuring 84.5x57. The bed is packed away in our attic so I took photos of the headboard. This was purchased many years ago and we were told it was made in Ohio. Unsure of the maker or what kind of wood. Has all the original hardware. In very nice condition for its age. This three piece bedroom set includes a bed adapted to queen size, marble top nightstand and a double armoire. Walnut with matched panels. The satiny finish is in excellent condition. Waxed and polished, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to preserve its antique patina. Graceful curves and exquisite detailing are beautiful. The bed has been adapted with steel rails and mounting plates to fit a standard queen size spring and mattress as shown in photos. Bedding is 20" high and wood slats underneath are furnished. The bed measures 66" wide. 90" long, the head board is 69" tall and the foot board is 40" high. A shaped marble top nightstand has been polished and sealed to resist ... morestains. Below a hand dovetailed drawer is a marble lined compartment. Finished on all sides. Measurements are 16" square and 33 1/2" tall. Antique English Oak Bedroom Set Armoire Wardrobe Dresser Barley Twist Headboard
You are bidding on a BEAUTIFUL Antique English OakBedroom Set/ Suite/ Ensemble. I am not an antique expert or dealer.But I was told when I purchased these pieces that they are all Victorian Style English Oak(medium) manufactured in England in the late 1800's. All pieces were purchased separately. But they"match" amazingly well. There are three items in this set: Dresser- Measures 36"W x 19"D x 38.5"H. With 4 drawers of increasing size from top to bottom. Head Board and Foot Board w/ rails modified to fit a Queen Size bed- Both pieces are 54" Wide and 1.75" Deep on corner posts. Thinner across the back. The headboard is 53.25" High and the footboard is 27.25" High. Both have a diamond design in the center panel, and 1.5" slats out to the sides, with Barley Twist on the ends of the headboard ... moreonly. There is a small screw(hardly noticeable) at the very bottom of the left footboard foot, where it had once had a small crack, bus now fixed and solid. As they did not have Queen beds back 1800's, the rails have been modified to fit a Queen bed, so the mattress hangs about 2-3" off either side of the bed- this is very common for people who have an antique head and foot board, and is not noticeable once the bed is made up. Armoire/ Wardrobe- Measures 47"W(plus 2.5" on each side for the crown) x 18.5"D x 80"H. This is a beautiful piece. And VERY functional. Has a hanger bar across the interior along with 5 hooks for miscellaneous items. Also has a large drawer underneath for storage. The design is shown in the close-up(photo 2) and there is a beveled glass mirror on the door. The wardrobe actually comes in three pieces that sit on each other- base, main cabin, crown- so it is easier to move than it looks! There are a couple small"cracks" in the wood that are just natural from age, but overall it is is excellent shape as are the other pieces of the set. Please note: Mattresses. Country French 1895 Antique Carved Oak Queen Size Bedroom Set. An authentic 1895 era Country French 5 piece bedroom set includes a queen size bed. Pair of nightstands, marble top dresser and armoire. Hand carving in solid quarter sawn oak shows superior craftsmanship- artistic detailing. Graceful curves and raised and shaped panels. The original finish is very well preserved on this European furniture. Waxed and buffed. Only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain the warm honeyed patina. The bed has been adapted to fit a standard queen size mattress as shown. Side rails. Wood slats and mounting plates have been furnished to fit a standard modern mattress and spring as shown, measuring 20" high together. Measurements are 7' 4" long, 61" wide, the head board is 64" tall and the footboard is 41" ... morehigh. The true right and left pair of nightstands have marble tops. Measurements are 17" square and 32 1/2" high. The marble top dresser or chest has a shaped and beveled mirror. And would also make a wonderful vessel sink vanity. There is a tiny chip to the marble, which has been polished and sealed to resist stains. Measurements are 48" wide, 22" deep, 80" tall and the main surface is 36 1/2" high. The armoire has a shaped and beveled mirror in the door. Embossed brass hardware and working locks are original. Inside is a closet pole. Antique 3 piece bedroom suite of cottage furniture in my family for over 100 yrs
This is a 3 piece bedroom suite of cottage style with German influence design in hand paintings. Don't know the medium used. It went to Pearl City, Il. from parts east in early to mid 1800s. My Dad was born on the bed in 1898 and my sister in 1932. All 3 pieces have been in constant use since its beginning and still is. The time has come for me to let someone else add to it's history. See all pictures as they show what I am going to print. The dresser is 40" wide, and 76 1/2" high including casters(porcelain& iron) and glove box and mirror. Mirror and glove box are held onto top with wooden pegs going thru holes in marble. Wooden spirals hold mirror in frame, one knob on one spiral is missing part of it, many years ago, break is completely oxidized. Mirror needs resilvering or replaced. I have no key for the locking ... moremechanisms in the drawers. The marble on dresser and wash stand has some scratches and a couple of pits in wash stand stop, no breaks; back edge is rough but not broken. Drawers are dove tailed. One drawer pull recently broke in half and I have repaired it. The wash stand is 32" wide and 30 3/4" high and 18 1/4" deep. Back splash has been missing for at least 80 years. Cupboard is divided into 3 compartments, there is one drawer. The bed accommdates a full size mattress. Scuff marks, scratches and wear marks on on side boards and bottom of legs, general wear overall. The wooden slats are not all original. I offer local pick up only.
