Antique French Louis XVth bed. Twin size We are very pleased to be able to offer for your consideration this French Louis XVth bed. This Antique Louis XVth bed was brought over from France by the shop owners. It is made of Walnut. And has some beautiful carvings and trim accents. The feet are hand carved, as is accent piece centered on the top of the headboard. The craftsmanship is very impressive, I really like the way the clever design the builder built in, the rail to headboard, and footboard assemblies. The cap rail moulding on the headboard and footboard is beautiful, as are the gracefully curved appliqué trim accents, and the chevron veneers. The headboard measures 58 inches wide. 61 3/4 inches tall(including the carving) and the cap rail is 2 inches thick. The footboard measures 57 inches wide, 38 1/4 inches tall, and the cap ... morerail is 2 inches thick. The side bed rails are 73 3/4 inches long. This bed is an antique French short twin. So it will accommodate a mattress that measures 53 X 72 inches. Condition- The overall condition of this bed is good. But it is an antique, and as such there are a few issues. The most glaring is the attempted repair, and use of a white wood filler on the inside panel of the foot board, a skilled craftsperson could apply a matching veneer to cover this situation. There is a nonstructural crack in the footboard cap rail moulding located just about at it's center. And there is a, approximately 5 inch long, very narrow void between the footboard panel and the bottom of the cap rail(see pictures provided) On the head board there is a long diagonal depression on the upper right panel of the headboard(see pictures) There is also some warping in the veneer on the lower right portion of the headboard, that would be masked by the box spring and matress. This bed once belonged to O.J. and Nicole Simpson and more recently. Steven Seagal. See provenance below. Provenance It was the late seventies in Beverly Hills. California, my home town. I first met O.J. Simpson and Kareem Abdul Jabbar at an open house of a residential property I owned in Bel Air. At that time, the Peter Frampton was renting the home. I didn’t become close to O.J. until we happened to reconnect at a party for the Los Angeles Clippers hosted by Donald Sterling. We exchanged phone numbers ... moreand arranged to play tennis at his home. O.J. had informal gatherings that took place at his home practically every weekend. It would be a veritable who’s who of movie stars and sports celebrities. It would draw huge crowds but the atmosphere was very friendly and easy going. The smell of BBQ would waft through the air while we would play tennis with O.J. Ahmad Rashad and Lynn Swann would be waiting their turn to dethrone the winner along with a host of memorable others. As you would think. Bikini clad beauties roamed around the pool while everyone laughed and had a great time. Nicole Simpson was a gracious hostess that always kept the good times rolling. My wife to be and Nicole soon became the best of friends. At that time O.J. was a cool, affable guy who always owned the room. He really was larger than life. In 1980 O.J. and Nicole decided to move their home on Rockingham. I sent a crew to redo his floors. He and Nicole wanted an extravagant bed set for their boudoir. I knew exactly which bed he had to have. I had just acquired a beautiful antique massive heavily carved canopy bed from an 18th C. manor in England. Antique PAIR Twin Bed Set Painted Carved Wood Shabby Cottage Chic French Louis
This is a Pair of Antique Beds. All wood, believed carved, And hand painted with florals. As shown. Here's what I know for sure, These were carried from Wyoming to Oregon. Where they are located now. I don't know how they got to Wyoming. Maybe by wagon train( These beds are not damaged. And not dirty. They are just mighty aged. And have not been restored. So, authentic chic'n shabby, as shown. My intention. Was to strip and refinish. But that didn't happen. I kept these beds on hand for extra guests. Each has 2" wide Steel'L' shape brackets to hold a platform. And I just added a 3/4" thick strand board from Home Depot. Cut short for ease to 32" x 72" And these hold a ton. No prob. These beds come apart. 4 pieces each, and are easy to assemble by hand. I do not know that these size beds are called ... moretwin. I believe that they. Are a little longer and a bit narrower. These were made using Thick Wood. The Side Rails are 1.5" thick. This two piece bedroom suite is from the 1 86 0's in the Gothic style made famous by the"Lincoln Bed" It is a beautiful. Dark solid walnut with much graceful carving and paneled burl accents. A ll pieces are the same color-the variation in the photos is from the lighting and light coming in the w indow by the footboard-and the distance from my camera. This elegant set consists of the headboard. 7" tall, the footboard, curved) and the two footrails with original metal braces and side extensions. We have the bed set up as a queen. With a Q-metal frame, but you can see the slots on each side of the headboard where the side rail extensions fit. Up for auction is a beautifully carved Victorian Walnut Bed Crest. The crest has been carved in the shape of a lady's head. The crest is 12" tall. It is nearly 13" across the curled detail. The thickest area on the crest is at the top of the lady's head. It is about 3 1/2" thick. The crest is in the original finish. There are some nicks in the surface. The original finish has some wear. Great Carved Solid Mahogany Canopy Bed probably by Kittenger Ca1900
Full size carved mahogany poster. Canopy bed. Outstanding condition for its age, circa 1870-1900, original untouched finish, reeded columns, flame turned finials, bolt on rails. a magnificent quality custom/replica of the Sheraton style. The canopy top and the rails are not pictured) I the tops of pine and is the curved type, as opposed to flat, the rails are mahogany all are in great condition as well. Possibly Kittenger(they began production just after the Civil War, we are using the original finish patina to determine the age which we firmly believe to be no less than 100 years and no more than 150 years of age. The style of construction, the quality of the piece and the age all suggest Kittenger in a strong way. I am unaware of any other maker of this style and quality during this time frame. VICTORIAN BED, BED SPRINGS & 2 DRESSERS Dated 1876/hand-carved oak
Hand Carved VICTORIAN BED& BED SPRINGS + 2 DRESSERS. The entire bed is solid oak with the original finish. The bed& springs were in continuous use from 1876 thru 2008 in the same family. Outside Bed Measurements are at Headboard Height: 57” Footboard Height: 42” outside Length: 77” outside Width: 53½” The inside bed measurements are: Length: 73” by Width: 51” The head& foot boards are on casters& the entire bed rolls easily for cleaning or, when taken apart, for transportation. The side rails slip easily in& out of slots in the head& foot boards. It comes with the slats, including the small center one which was used to distributed the weight of the mattress& people evenly on the center of the mesh springs. The bed springs, with the original stenciled date of 1876, are made of steel mesh stretched tightly over ... morethe solid oak frame& secured at the ends with thick iron pieces. The springs are still firm& without any sag. There is no indication of a manufacturer’s name on the mesh or iron end pieces and they may have been mail order. The bed needs a little loving care– mostly just a good cleaning(the spot of white on the foot board decoration(see pic) is a small streak of paint) being dusty and covered in old furniture polish. It does have a few scratches& small dings from age, but nothing major. Both dressers were made at the time as the bed, 1876, and by the same craftsman. They are oak& are all original with no replacement pieces& with the original finish. THE LARGE DRESSER with associated mirror measures: Height: 44” Depth: 19” Width: 41” The Ogee mirror is an oval 23 ½” by 15” is probably a later addition. The dresser has 2 trinket drawers made with key holes, but without knobs, a small bow front top drawer& 3 large lower drawers; all of which work properly. Antique Victorian Walnut Highly Carved Bedroom Suite Bed/Dresser/Night Stand
An exquisite antique bedroom suite all original dating to the mid to late 1800's. This is a 3 piece set made from walnut. Burl walnut and veneer and accented with marble and original hardware that comes with the following pieces. Bed: The stunning bed is sure to be a focal point in the room. The headboard stands 70" high at the back center. It is 65" wide at the widest point. The footboard measures 38" in height at the center. The carved bird motif on the headboard matches the motif on the footboard. The upper edges of the headboard are done in an elaborate acanthus leaf pattern and a matching pattern surrounds the birds in the center. The details on the birds is incredible with finely details individual feathers. There are losses to the veneer on this and there is also a section of wood missing on the carved back area. ... moreThe footboard has a metal strip on the back of it holding the two boards together and there is a paper coating it that has losses. There are age and use appropriate dings and scratches to the frame that one would expect to find on an item of this age. Dresser: The dresser has a beautiful black and gold and white veined marble top. This is one solid sheet of marble. There are some light scratches on the marble but there are no cracks in this piece. The dresser stands 37" high to the top of the marble slab. It is 36.25" wide and at the widest depth it is 21.5" It stands 74" high to the top of the mirror at the center. There are some light losses to the carving and scratches from use on this as well. There are cracks on the side but they do not affect the integrity of the piece.This also has the same matching cross diamond pattern on the sides and front as seen on the head and foot boards of the bed. The edges are also trimmed with an acanthus motif. There is a single drawer above two doors that open to reveal shelving. There is a lock on this and it does work. The mirror has been re-secured on the back at some point in time. There is some light scratches/losses

Antique 1800s Victorian Eastlake Carved Cherry Double Bed Head/Footboard Rails

Footboard and original rails in a cherry finish. Head and footboards are carved with a cut and pierced gallery finishing off the top of headboard. Wood is cut and layered on rails to produce the stepped detail on the ends. Bed fits a standard full size mattress 54" x 75" Pictured in bright sunlight and cloud cover. Bed is in overall very good condition. However, there are some signs of age on this 100 plus year old heirloom- there is some separation between the leg and body on the front right of footboard. Footboard is still very solid. There are also two spots on same leg on side where the wood must have been wet a one time ... moreas the finish color is lighter. There is also a long crack on the carved gallery on top of headboard and two of the six small gallery supports on back of headboard are missing. Gallery is solid and not loose or in danger of breaking. My guess is this crack has been there for many, many years. There are many small marks and scratches on legs. Many scratches on inside of headboard where hidden by bed. Please see all pics. This bed is a one of a kind hand carved full size solid chestnut bed. The bed is a black forest style and will date sometime between 1860 and 1870. The head board is massive and includes two large solid chestnut panels and is topped with a large carving from solid walnut. This is simply a gorgeous piece. It is rock solid and the finish is beautiful. It is near mint with no visible flaws. A rare find for the age. The head board measures 65 1/2" Wide X 85 1/2" High and is 1 1/2" thick solid chestnut. The two panels in the headboard are 21 1/2" wide. there is no chestnut tree in existence to cut boards that wide.
