It was passed ... morearound from baby to baby over the years and we have now run out of relatives having babies. We are downsizing and no longer have room to store it. The crib and carriage are both solid and in excellent shape. There isn't any damage to the carriage. Crib or the wicker on the crib. There is some loss of paint along the edges at the very bottom of the crib which is not very bad and I have not attemped to touch up. I will leave that to the new owner. The carriage is very solid and there isn't any other loss of paint on it. The canopy does have some wicker damage on the one corner which I have tried to show in picture#8. Other than the loss of a little paint on the crib itself and the damage to the one corner of the canopy wicker the unit is very solid and in very good shape. I would be pleased to offer whatever additional pictures you would want, just email your request. The crib itself is 26" long x 15 1/2" wide X 8" deep. The carriage is 28" long(32" folded) x 16" wide x 21" high at the one end and 19" high at the other end. The wheels on the carriage are approximately 2 1/2" in diameter. Picked in rural Berks County. Pennsylvania at an old order Mennonite farm from an elderly couple who were cleaning out their barn. A vintage hand made wood baby doll cradle in pale pink, in good condition with some imperfections due to age and wear. Will benefit from a more thorough cleaning. Measures approximately 15-1/2" tall x 21-1/2" long x 11-1/2" wide x 21-1/4" wide at the rockers.

ANTIQUE BABY ROCKING CRADLE THIS IS AN EARLY ROCKING BABY CRADLE. THE FOUR CORNERS ARE SQUARE WITH THE TOP 4 1/2" BEING TURNED. THE SIDES AND ENDS HAVE SOLID RAILINGS WITH SPINDLES IN BETWEEN. THE BOTTOM IS MADE OF BENTWOOD SLATS WITH A CENTER RAIL. IT IS ALSO A ROCKER. IT IS ALL HELD TOGETHER WITH WOODEN PINS. EVERYTHING IS VERY TIGHT WITH NOTHING LOOSE OR WOBBLY. THE MATTRESS IS THE OLD STRIPED CLOTH WITH STRING TIED TUFTS. I THINK THE FILLING IS COTTON. IT ALSO HAS A TAG ATTACHED TO IT THAT STATES IT HAS BEEN STERILIZED. I AM NOT SURE WHAT THE WOOD IS. IT IS HARDWOOD AND POOSIBLY A LIGHT WALNUT OR MAYBE HICKORY. THE PAINT IS LIKE THE OLD FADED RED BUTTERMILK PAINT. THIS CRADLE IS ALL ORIGINAL AND WORN JUST LIKE YOU WOULD EXPECT AND WANT IT TO BE AS AN ANTIQUE CRADLE. THE REPAIRS ARE 3 OF THE SMALL SPINDLES AND ONE OF THE END CORNER ... moreSPINDLES. Victorian Style Antique Platform Rocking doll/baby Cradle
I believe this is from the late 1800's. Made for a baby in the Victorian era. This stationary/rocking cradle is solid black walnut with burl panels and porcelain castors. Size of this antique cradle is 33" high, 22" wide with the platform adding approximately 10" to the height. One of the wooden rockers has been replaced(in photo 8) but the unit is in good shape for its age. Some of the parts of the original patented locking mechanism are missing. Back when our kids were babes in arms(now they’re in their 30’s) This was where we put them to sleep… a solid-walnut and veneer rocking crib that had been in my wife’s family since before the first World War. The detailing is wonderful. With a sweet inlaid picture of two doves cooing on the headboard. The old crib comes with a modern foam rubber mattress that is easy to clean. At the foot. There’s a lever and string device that allows two latches to engage, stopping all rocking action. This kind of crib was the height of safety when made. But I'm sure it no longer meets"Consumer Products Safety Commission" standards for baby items. It's essentially a piece of history that is more for display than daily use. though it worked fine for us 30 years ago!

19th Century Antique Bentwood Baby Cradle Crib
Here’s a nice Antique Bentwood cradle fresh from a local estate. I don’t have the bottom slats or mattress/pad. But I would think they should be fairly easy to replace or made. There are several spots that have been glued(where the wood lifted- mainly across the tops of the bentwood end sections) and it could use a good cleaning, as it has been in storage for many years. It measures 36” long x 18-1/2” wide across at the top/sides(20” high) 15” wide across the bottom/sides and the bentwood ends are 28” high. This will be shipped disassembled as shown in photo 7. This large ca. 1860's JENNY LIND CRADLE in walnut is stained dark. The head and foot and side spindle posts all are beautifully turned in the traditional Jenny Lind pattern. The slats and slat framework are newer. This is a large. Sturdy cradle measuring 40 inches long, 22.5 inches wide, and stands 37.5 inches high. This is a great decorative piece and could be used as the companion to a doll or bear collection. This item has some condition problems. Up for sale is an extremely old antique baby cradle/rocker! This hand made rocker is a thing of beauty! The mahogany finish adds the perfect touch for any child's bedroom or for the collector of beautiful antiques! One of the best parts about this piece is that it can be a rocker. Then, when ready to be used/showcased as a cradle, the rocker legs slide right off! This rocker has been in my family for about 100 years and it's time for the piece to go to someone who will appreciate it more than I. The piece was never dated but after doing research I've found that this piece was made between the years 1890-1920. My family can trace it back to 1920 and with no living members of my family left to go beyond that, the potential for it being older than 1920 is extremely high! Somebody has made sure this little bed will go with any color. I'm positive under that paint is some really beautiful oak and judging by the saw marks on the bottom and top of the legs. I'm pretty certain it is homemade. I doubt a company would have tried to sell the bed with the saw marks still on the bed. You can paint it a different color or strip the paint off and see some beautiful oak or leave it as is. It's good and solid, well built. Antique Wooden Baby Cradle Circa 1840 Pre-Civil War!
Here is a great old wooden. Unpainted, hooded baby cradle, circa 1840. Square nails and dovetail construction. Measures 36 inches long, 14 inches wide, 27 1/2 inches tall at hood and 14 inches tall at sides. Lots of wear, surface scratches, vintage repairs as you would expect from a household item nearly 200 years old and which add to its charm. Rockers and bottom in particular look like they could use some refurbishing. Somewhere in its long history a rope was attached to a hole in the top to facilitate rocking. There is a replacement slat on the top of the hood which was apparently made from an old prune crate. I put it in place for the photo. But will ship unattached as I promise that neither you nor I want me to be turned loose with a hammer to attempt any repairs on this early American piece! The posts are fluted and have turned finials. There are decorative turned circles on each end and 7 points on the headboard. Looks to have original hardware except for some newer screws. This piece measures approx. 33" x 29.5" x 21" This has rolling wheels on the bottom. This would make a great addition for anyone that loves antiques! This bed will come shipped disassembled. Large Heavy Antique Child Metal Baby Bed for Baby doll collection WILLSHIP
I will consider shipping if you are willing to pay for packaging and shipping. Antique large metal bed that is 58 inches long by 26 inches wide and 43 inches tall. This is perfect for a doll collection as you would not want to use it for a child due to the possibility of lead paint? This bed can easily be disassembled for shipping but would rather local pick up as shipping would be expensive due to size and weight even if taken apart and boxed.
