$38.00 Shipping Condition: Used Location: Raleigh, United States A recent estate sale purchase. A small child's size travel/ steamer trunk complete with a tray and a key. This trunk measures approximately 22" ... morelong X 14" wide X 15 1/2" high and it has two hinges in back that hold the lid securely to the base. There used to be sturdy leather handles on each side of the trunk but they are no longer intact, these can be purchased inexpensively on-line and they're fairly easy to replace. The corner protectors and hardware appear to be brass plated steel. There are two hasp type closures, one on each side of the lock and the lock needs to be bent just a little to close it securely. We tried the key and the locking mechanism seems to work properly but we didn't want to damage anything so it will arrive open with the key tucked in an envelope safely inside. The inside of the trunk is wood and there should be wood beneath the black material covering the outside(it is non-magnetic and we don't think it's metal) This little trunk is in very good condition and once it's restored it should be a beauty- perfect for your antique doll collection or as a gift for a very special grandchild. Somebody has made sure this little bed will go with any color. I'm positive under that paint is some really beautiful oak and judging by the saw marks on the bottom and top of the legs. I'm pretty certain it is homemade. I doubt a company would have tried to sell the bed with the saw marks still on the bed. You can paint it a different color or strip the paint off and see some beautiful oak or leave it as is. It's good and solid, well built. Antique Miniature Doll / Child's BRASS BED or Store Display Sample -30" x18"x20"
DESCRIPTION: Here measuring 30" x 18 1/2" x 20" tall headboard and 15" tall for the foot board. Is this miniature brass bed made for a rather large doll? I guess it's too big for a dollhouse. Quite likely in my opinion this is a salesman's sample or even more likely a display piece in a furniture and bedding store. It is pretty much a 1:3 scale. or is it for a cat or dog. This would be partially and carefully taken apart for shipping. This most likely had castors, but they are gone. The posts are 1" OD and probably a quite available size to find for some old casters. VICTORIAN OAK ROCKING CRADLE 1800's series Antique Child or Doll Bed
Beautiful Victorian era- 18th century cradle. It was made in America near Lancaster Pennsylvania. This rocking cradle is definitely hand made. And most likely Amish built. Notice per the attached pictures, the ornate curves& designs that express the true workmanship of the maker. It measures as follows: 38" L x 30" W x 24" H and weighs approximately 40 lbs. You will find this to be a very solid piece of antique furniture, and more often you will find this type of cradle being used as decorator pieces with quilts, or dolls in them. It is made out of oak wood and is definitely a fine addition for a victorian collection in your home and/or store.
