ANTIQUE VICTORIAN VERY ORNATE CAST IRON AND BRASS Queen BED. White. 7' Tall
Holds 80" x 60" box spring& mattress(Queen size) Headboard is 83.5" tall(1/2" under 7' Foot board is 46.5" tall. Missing a couple of the little threaded brass balls that hold the twisted bars of solid brass to the foot board. But I'll pick up some replacements for them this week. Some tarnish on brass(all brass pieces are solid brass, NOT plated) Some chips and scratches in the white paint. One cast iron frame bracket has a couple pieces chipped off of it, but still works just fine(see pic) Overall in good condition. Very unique rare Victorian bed. Old Antique Ornate Wrought Iron Bed, Aged Red Paint, Cast Iron Decoratives, Full
Here's a nice old or antique wrought iron bed we received recently with some estate items. This one is probably from the 1880's to perhaps 1920's with red paint and an assortment of what appear to be cast iron decorative pieces for an ornate appearance. I'm not sure what style this would be called but these decorative pieces and curved lines might be called an art nouveau style versus a primitive style. The red paint has signs of age and use giving it a nice naturally aged appearance. Though some may elect to paint it. This is a full size bed with the space between the rails at about 53.5 inches and the space between the headboards about 75 inches. The headboard stands about 61 inches or slightly over 5 feet tall, and the foot board is about 46 inches tall at the tallest point. The angle iron cross bar brace piece at the bottom ... moreof the headboard has been broken at some point. The other connective pieces hold the headboard together well but this should be braced, clamped or tack welded by someone handy. This bed is relatively clean but has been stored for some years and could use a little more light cleaning. Overall a nice antique wrought iron bed for those who seek functional furniture that provides an interesting decorative appearance. This bed is being listed for"Pickup Only" and is located about 15 minutes from the junction of Interstates 89 and 93 near Concord in central New Hampshire. Pickups are most easily arranged nights and weekends. For those who are distant from NH but have trips planned to NH within 45 day from the sale ending date, we will arrange to hold the door provided payment is received within 7 days of the end of the auction. Antique brass and iron canopy bed. Aesthetic Movement era with stylized sunflowers on the headboard and a brass plaque depicting the Madonna and Child on the footboard. Originally from Malta, brought to the US in the 1970s. Originally a double bed, the rails have been lengthened to fit a queen size mattress. The width has not been altered. A queen size mattress fits nicely. There are hand-painted flowers twining up the canopy posts, some are worn off with age, others are still there. We believe this grand bed to have its original finish and features bountiful detailed carvings with gorgeous. Large turned walnut finials that adorn the shoulders of the head-board and carved rosettes, roundels and burl walnut panels. The footboard is equally as lovely with the inside being finished with carvings at the top so when in bed you will see the inside of the foot-board is just as lovely as the rest of the bed.shows exceptional attention to detail! This bed has beautifully executed side rails and when the bed is bolted together its very tight and sturdy. This fine bed is in wonderful antique condition and has a striking presence. The only apology I can see is one of ... morethe large finials has part of the base missing on the backside(see last picture) but not noticeable from the front and appears to have been missing for a while and there is a slight age shrinkage crack on the left side of the head-board under the inset panel of burl which I have shown a shown a close up of in the pictures; neither of these is a distraction from this beautiful bed just a part of the character from age and usage over the past 140 years or so. Pair Antique Ornate Carved Mahongany High Back Single Twin Bed Frames
We are pleased to offer to the market this beautiful pair of Victorian era twin beds. These are a set of high back beds that are a rare find in this condition. Made from walnut. The beds are intricately carved with acanthus leaf designs on both the head and foot boards. The beds also have reeded& turned columns with bun feet. The headboards have galley style tops with applied carvings. Both the head and footboards on these come apart from the rails for easier moving. There are age appropriate scratches. Dings, divets, and gouges on these but overall the condition is very good for the age. They are structurally sound. The worst damage is shown in the last photo.
