The headboard is 64.75 inches high, footboard is 43.5 inches high; length is 72 inches, width- from outermost edges of headboard and footboard- is 53.75 inches. All original headboard, footboard and side rails have been sandblasted and refinished in pale moss green; some chips in paint but no damage to bed. Adapted to hold wooden slats to support full-sized mattress; can also be used around floor-standing mattress and box spring. This is a Late 1800's 3/4 rope bed. This truly is authentic shabby chic. This belonged to my friend's grandmother. It is from the late 1800's. It is a 3/4 rope bed. It is just the Head& Foot boards. I do not have the ropes or any other parts. My friend got it evaluated& in 1992 if refinished was appraised at $900. It has not had anything done to it& has been in storage all this time waiting to go to a good home. May be able to turn it into a twin size but not sure! This fabulous antique French bed manufacturers catalogue dates from the late 1800s. The company A PARDON had its factory in PARIS and specialised in iron and brass beds of all types. The book has a hard cover and the inner cover page has the compmany details with a superb vignette of the factory with smoke pouring from the tall chimneys. Inside are 98 pages. Each page has a bed vignette with details of sizes. They range from folding beds. To cots and swinging cribs and a whole range of ... moredecorative boudoir beds. The back pages display decorative curtain poles& rings. The book measures 6.5" x 4" when closed and is a wonderful source of furniture history. Perfect for any collection or period display. Antique African American Negro Slave Bed Post Civil War late 1800`s
This is called a slave bed because it is common for the type actually made by slaves in the south pre Civil War. A rope strings back and forth over the pegs to hold a mattress. This however was made after the Civil War on a working plantation outside of Baton Rouge. LA. late 1800`s by very possibly former slaves. It was given to me in my youth in the 60`s by Ms. Lewis in Ocean Springs who lost a small apartment complex on the beach in Hurricane Camile, 1969. Its just dusty and needs a good clean up. One curly-cue-thingy is broke off but I have it for repair. All sales final. No returns, pick up only in Ocean Springs, Ms.

Caste iron head and foot board for single bed - late 1800's
Caste iron head and base board fronm the turn of the last century. Head board is turquoise color. Foot board is not. Headboard is 42" tall and 52" wide. The footboard is 30" tall and 52" wide. Top knobs are missing. These items are often used as yard art as it is difficult to attach to brd rails. The top knobs are missing. Return policy does not apply to item. So.
