So there are stress fractures all shown in the photos. This French foot chest is also very practical for daily use being 43 1/4" high and 40" wide by 20" deep. Antique PAIR Twin Bed Set Painted Carved Wood Shabby Cottage Chic French Louis
This is a Pair of Antique Beds. All wood, believed carved, And hand painted with florals. As shown. Here's what I know for sure, These were carried from Wyoming to Oregon. Where they are located now. I don't know how they got to Wyoming. Maybe by wagon train( These beds are not damaged. And not dirty. They are just mighty aged. And have not been restored. So, authentic chic'n shabby, as shown. My intention. Was to strip and refinish. But that didn't happen. I kept these beds on hand for extra guests. Each has 2" wide Steel'L' shape brackets to hold a platform. And I just added a 3/4" thick strand board from Home Depot. Cut short for ease to 32" x 72" And these hold a ton. No prob. These beds come apart. 4 pieces each, and are easy to assemble by hand. I do not know that these size beds are called ... moretwin. I believe that they. Are a little longer and a bit narrower. These were made using Thick Wood. The Side Rails are 1.5" thick. And the footboards and headboards are 1.25" thick. Here are the measurements: The Headboard height is 47.75" 48" in height at the Center. EMPIRE MAHOGANY SLEIGH BED WITH ROPE FOUNDATION With our compliments we are pleased to offer this all original 19th Century Empire Sleigh Bed with original tapered pole rails to support the bed with a rope foundation. This full sized period bed comes to us out of an intact early 19th Century Rhode Island Estate. Coming by an original intact rope bed is a rarity in itself. When we got the bed it was being used with a plywood bunky board as a foundation instead of rope. These were designed to be used with a thick horse hair mattress that sat a top the ropes. If you are doing a true correct historical preservation of the period this is correct bed. We have recently seen custom bedding made from thick memory foam bedding. Where box spring foundations make the bed height too high& can not be employed. This is absolutely the way to go. The ... morecost is not that much more than a standard mattress. You will need to find a custom bedding company in your city. The ends of the side, head and foot board rails each have toothed wooden gears on them. The bed originally had small wooden locking arms that had matched teeth. These served as a tensioning device that secured the ropes at a desired tension. The bed is in absolutely fantastic condition but we would advise you to have some knowledge about antique beds before getting involved with this. This is an incredible bed. I believe to be 1840's, it weighs a ton, the side rails are one solid timber, it looks like flame mahogany, but the experts I asked say it is crotched walnut and is just mahogany in color. It is in excellent condition, no missing pieces or breaks. rails and hardware included. This one is an incredible piece. Measures Headboard is 59 1/2" tall. Footboard is 34" tall, bed is 62" wide. Antique French Bed Canopy. A stunning and unusual 19 th century French Bed Canopy(Ceil de Lit) In an oval shape and with its repousse brass front around its entire shape. As can be seen from the close ups the design consists of angels with wings and a heraldic shield. The original wood structure is in excellent strong condition with no worm and with the remains of its original old French grey paint with a series of hooks to the inside for fitting the drapes. The 3 1/2 inch diameter pegged rails screw& counter screw into the headboard and foot board. Overall dimensions are 75" long, 51" wide, and 6' tall. The posts are 3" by 3" which make the inside dimensions approximately 69" by 45" The headboard hangs in place by hooks and eye screws, and seats into notches on the headboard cross bar. The bed is very solid and stable when assembled, weighing about 127 pounds. Both rails have an age crack running part way along the rail as shown in the photos. One rail is missing three pegs. I have one missing peg loose, that can be used as a template to make the other two pegs. This beautiful antique furniture piece has been handed down through the seller’s family and is not a reproduction. Originally owned by great grandparents who lived in a log cabin. This piece was inherited by the seller’s family who remember seeing it in the cabin prior to 65 years ago. No one in the family knows the date it was originally acquired by the great grandparents. This wonderful piece is reminiscent of a mirrored wardrobe when positioned and makes a great addition to a guest room because of its space saving style with a hidden bed inside! Folding beds were advertised in Montgomery Ward catalogues prior to 1900. The cabinet measures 78” tall. 58” wide and 27” deep when closed, 80” deep when open. It has a removable mesh/spring support for a mattress(mattress not included) mattress opening measures 50” x 74” A sofa mattress 48” x ... more72” may be a good choice to allow room for linens. This is a well made and sturdy free-standing piece that moves easily on its metal casters. It does not need attachment to a wall because of its counterweights explained below. Included are the 10 removable original cast iron counterweights on the back that allow the bed to raise and lower almost effortlessly with a slide mechanism. As the front of the bed is lowered. The counterweights allow the lower portion of the headboard to butt to the upper section resulting in a 72” high headboard. These weights(12 lbs 10.8 oz. each) are easily accessible and lift out to diminish the weight of the piece which allows ease of movement to a new location. The gorgeous oak cabinet has not been refinished but has some water staining from plants placed on top in times past(see photos—this area becomes the footboard and is not visible when the unit is closed) It appears that the handles to open the cabinet(one on each side) may have been moved slightly or replaced as there are two empty screw holes by each handle. Here for your consideration is this high quality Full Size Antique Cast Iron Bed with wooden wheels and finished in Classic white. This is in excellent shape and the corners are in true condition. The headboard and footboard carry matching urn motifs on a cane-weave mesh background(also metal) The underside of the rails show a gold or brass painted finish. This may have been the original color or it may have been a refinishing color in the distant past. The head and foot board are made of cast iron in a 2" diameter tube with smaller diameters used for the uprights and the horizontal framework. The head board is 50 inches tall and the foot board is 34.5" tall. The rail sides are extended angle iron and the hinge joinings fit smoothly and snuggly. Antique Victorian Eastlake wood bed and custom mattress - Turn of the century
This is an Eastlake wooden bed from the turn of the century in the original finish. It has been in my family since purchased. It has nice incise carvings and burl accents. The bed is in good condition and includes the original headboard. Footboard, and attaching side rails. It is a 3/4 size bed, so it is slightly smaller than a full size bed so I had a custom mattress made for it but full size sheets fit it fine. The custom made mattress and bunky board are in excellent condition(only slept on twice) The bed measures- 53" wide x 75.5" long. The headboard is 55" high at the tallest part and the footboard is 29" tall. The mattress measures approximately 51"x70"

Karpen Antique Single Bed and Dresser and mattress, from early 1900's
This is a gorgeous piece of antique furniture. I purchased it in the early 70's and it has been with me in my guest bedroom. With my doll collection, all these years. It has probably been slept in 10 times as my other guest bedroom has a king size bed. But the family has grown and our 5 year reunions are at our house. So we have decided to sell this set and put in another king bed. It is in excellent condition, no broken legs, all original hardware,all original wood, beautiful painted flowers on the dresser and foot of the bed. Karpen label on both the dresser(in top drawer) and on back of headboard. Headboard and dresser have the same scallop design on top. This is a very heavy bedroom set, weighs too much to ship. Antique Henry Steul Bed
Very rare and collectible Henry steul bed this bed is believed to be crafted before he joined with his brother and before the company became steul& thurman so circa 1883 to 1888 it is the 66 th bed that was made by Henry. It is Spanish oak and mohagony the mohagony inlay is impeccable as he would take an already very delicate wood and perfectly cut it in half so that each side of the bed would reflect the other half it was said to bring the couple closer together. It is however not in perfect shape and would need restoration but I would implore you not to touch the mohagony as it would affect the value only sand and re stain the oak. You*never* find these as a complete set. Up for auction is an antique cast iron hospital bed with it's original spring frame. When put together(the pieces fit into each other in a dove-tail groove manner) this bed is rock solid. Has paint wear from use but all springs are present and there are no broken guides. Stunning. This is a rare find indeed. Included with this bed comes the(modern) wooden platform to put on top of the springs. Note.
