Tall queen antique spool walnut 4 four post poster bed
For sale is a 1890s- 1910 spool 4 post bed. I believe the wood is walnut. The finials are pineapples. Fits a queen mattress but is a little short for the mattress. I bought a foam mattress and cut off about 1.5 inches at the foot of the bed. If not using foam you will have to have one specially made or use double size mattress. Very tall and striking! Original finish and very sturdy. Measures 90" tall. 62" wide, 80" deep. Pick up only 30 miles west of Chicago in Oswego IL.

ANTIQUE FRENCH BED Twin Walnut Louis XVth Hand Carved Accents
Antique French Louis XVth bed. Twin size We are very pleased to be able to offer for your consideration this French Louis XVth bed. This Antique Louis XVth bed was brought over from France by the shop owners. It is made of Walnut. And has some beautiful carvings and trim accents. The feet are hand carved, as is accent piece centered on the top of the headboard. The craftsmanship is very impressive, I really like the way the clever design the builder built in, the rail to headboard, and footboard assemblies. The cap rail moulding on the headboard and footboard is beautiful, as are the gracefully curved appliqué trim accents, and the chevron veneers. The headboard measures 58 inches wide. 61 3/4 inches tall(including the carving) and the cap rail is 2 inches thick. The footboard measures 57 inches wide, 38 1/4 inches tall, and the cap ... morerail is 2 inches thick. The side bed rails are 73 3/4 inches long. This bed is an antique French short twin. So it will accommodate a mattress that measures 53 X 72 inches. Condition- The overall condition of this bed is good. But it is an antique, and as such there are a few issues. The most glaring is the attempted repair, and use of a white wood filler on the inside panel of the foot board, a skilled craftsperson could apply a matching veneer to cover this situation. There is a nonstructural crack in the footboard cap rail moulding located just about at it's center. And there is a, approximately 5 inch long, very narrow void between the footboard panel and the bottom of the cap rail(see pictures provided) On the head board there is a long diagonal depression on the upper right panel of the headboard(see pictures) There is also some warping in the veneer on the lower right portion of the headboard, that would be masked by the box spring and matress. And of coarse the non-standard size of the frame will require some modifications in order to accommodate a modern mattress. This Antique French bed frame is a very beautiful piece of furniture. Incredible American Federal Style bed. Likely 1870's. Very sturdy, not squeaking or wiggling, rails attach to head and foot with very tight fit. Rails are very heavy, super tall, just a super looking piece. You can see from teh back of the headboard, it is hand chamferred. I believe it is solid walnut, but may be oak. accomodates a standard full size mattress. Includes Head, Foot, rails, and slats. Slats are new wood slats. I am located in Birmingham. AL. Details: An antique c.1840-1870 handmade solid walnut rope bed. The bed has been converted from being a rope bed. Holes plugged, and fitted with newer solid wood rails to accommodate a full-size mattress set. The headboard and footboard are identical in size and style. Each one is made using two walnut panels, topped by a rolling pin crest, flanked by low, solid posts that feature mushroom-cap finials. The finish is original. Showing age appropriate patina, more so to the footboard where the finish is lighter along the top due to blankets being hung over it for many years. The overall condition is very good, only issues to report are minor scuffs and an old split in one wood panel on the footboard, wood contracting? The split does not affect the stability of the bed at all, and I mention it only for accuracy. it is the late 1800's antique bed- headboard. Foot board, side boards. We believe it is made of mahogany with inlaid woodwork of walnut? Not 100% sure however it is quite heavy. Not in perfect condition, we would say fair condition or has been loved: it is an odd size apparently. Side boards are 77inches in length. Seems to be an UK/Ireland queen? Height of the headboard is 63 inches. Width of both headboard and footboard is 70 1/2 inches. It also features brass"socks" on the bottom of the footboard- you can see it in the pics:

An exquisite antique bedroom suite all original dating to the mid to late 1800's. This is a 3 piece set made from walnut. Burl walnut and veneer and accented with marble and original hardware that comes with the following pieces. Bed: The stunning bed is sure to be a focal point in the room. The headboard stands 70" high at the back center. It is 65" wide at the widest point. The footboard measures 38" in height at the center. The carved bird motif on the headboard matches the motif on the footboard. The upper edges of the headboard are done in an elaborate acanthus leaf pattern and a matching pattern surrounds the birds in the center. The details on the birds is incredible with finely details individual feathers. There are losses to the veneer on this and there is also a section of wood missing on the carved back area. ... moreThe footboard has a metal strip on the back of it holding the two boards together and there is a paper coating it that has losses. There are age and use appropriate dings and scratches to the frame that one would expect to find on an item of this age. Dresser: The dresser has a beautiful black and gold and white veined marble top. This is one solid sheet of marble. There are some light scratches on the marble but there are no cracks in this piece. The dresser stands 37" high to the top of the marble slab. It is 36.25" wide and at the widest depth it is 21.5" It stands 74" high to the top of the mirror at the center. There are some light losses to the carving and scratches from use on this as well. There are cracks on the side but they do not affect the integrity of the piece.This also has the same matching cross diamond pattern on the sides and front as seen on the head and foot boards of the bed. The edges are also trimmed with an acanthus motif. There is a single drawer above two doors that open to reveal shelving. There is a lock on this and it does work. Offered for auction is this beautiful walnut Renaissance Revival Victorian double high back bedstead and half commode/somnoe and dresser w/mirror. The finish is a light walnut which appears to be in pretty good condition with some areas of discoloration. The headboard is 7'4" h x 5'4" w. Foot board is 3'2 1/2" tall. Takes a full double mattress. There is a large carved cartouche at the top of the multi curved headboard with large applied panels with walnut burl veneer. Main part of the headboard has two recessed panels with assymetrical curved tops. Sides of the headboard are topped by large carved and turned finials. Footboard has same raised molding but has an elaborate carved element in the middle of the curved footboard. Side boards have raised molding and fit into foot and headboards with double hooks that ... morefit into notched holes. Mirrored dresser is same height and matches the carving and design of the bed headboard. Two candle shelves and two handkerchief boxes complement the mirrored back of the dresser. This is a very nice french empire bed maybe for a childs bedroom or guest room. this is a little unusual it has a candle holder which slides behind the back of the head board. We have the original wooden rails once they are on its almost like a slay bed. Its walnut and in very good condition. Circa 1870.

antique hand-carved walnut civil-war era campaign or servant bed
This bed is hand carved from old-growth solid walnut. The fittings are wrought iron and the spindles are unevenly turned. When it is put together. It is very sturdy-the hardware was brilliantly set. It's about 6' long, so it was intended for a tall person to sleep in, not a child. Most likely a campaign bed for an officer, or a servant's bed. It's quite narrow. I cut new slats for it, but it was originally a slatted campaign bed, not a rope bed. There is no mattress for it. There is one crack in the headboard that could easily be repaired. It's all original except for the slats. Must pick it up in Sycamore. Illinois.
