It is very old, and the iron is aged. When I purchased it I didn't even know there was brass detail, with just a little work it started to shine up. Estate sale find. I was told it was from around 1880s. Head board. Foot board, wood side rails and slats. It looks like the inside of the side rails have been added to where the slats lay. The head board has a piece missing on the decorative medallion. See picture with fingers pointing. It has what looks like a makers number and initials on head board and side rails. All parts are completely original no restoration or repairs have been made. It still retains it's original white paint and has an all over naturally aged worn patina with chippy peeling paint. Lots of natural crazing and old aged untouched as in unpolished metal brass patina. All pieces are solid and free of breaks with the exception of a couple of thin cracks, not separations on the footboard bar as shown. I purchased this fine. Full size antique brass bed years ago on a road trip in California. It had the original rails when I purchased it. And the truth is, they were taken by a relative. But that's another story. Relatives. In-laws and outlaws! Anyway, this bed is offered without the rails. With that exception, this desirable bed. With rare bowed foot board. Is complete and in very good condition. There is one smaller bit of damage shown in photo eleven. Also. There is a 2-3 ft. portion of the seam behind the headboard left-hand post has separated a bit. This is for a very rare and very hard to find solid wood antique spindle bed. Wheels on the bottom with cast iron. Heavy side rails. This is an antique twin bed. Marked VONG on the rails. No other manufacturer name. Very, very old, dating to late 1800s or early 1900s. Normal surface wear. Small dent on the headboard, can be fixed, by sanding and staining if wanted, see photo, it can be repaired. This bed is gorgeous a one-of-a-kind and very, very hard to find. Rails no longer have the screws or bolts to attached, but they can be purchased and installed separately. Circa Late 1800s. We are selling the foot-board. The headboard and the two side rails only. Bed has wheels on bottom. Measures: Headboard- 48" tall x 36" wide x 2" deep. Foot-board- 41" tall x 36" wide x 2" deep. The iron rails measure 75 1/4" ... morelong and when assembled it will sit 11" up from the floor. Antique Eastlake Bed This is an Eastlake style antique bed. It is a beautiful and ornate set with a high-back headboard. This is definitely a"statement" piece. We believe it is composed of walnut with a medium-tone finish. Included in this set are a headboard. Footboard, side rails and slats. There is a lace dust ruffle stapled to the back of the footboard. This could be removed easily if the buyer so chooses. This set was made to hold a full extra-long size mattress. It is 56 7/8" wide. The highest point on the headboard is 83 1/4" The footboard is 31" in height. The bottom of the mattress would sit approximately 10" off of the ground(when placed on top of the slats) This is in great. Antique condition overall with some general signs of age and use. It appears as though the side rails were replaced at some point, ... morebecause they are held together with phillips head screws. The rails do, however, match rather perfectly. The top crown of the headboard was cracked and repaired by the previous owner. I also see a crack in the middle of the headboard, which I have shown in pictures. The presence of the cracks does not make the headboard any less structurally sound. The head and footboard posts each appear to be missing finials. I also noticed a water stain on the corner of the footboard, which I have also shown in pictures. There are minor imperfections, such as scratches or spots of wear, which I believe should be expected on a piece of this age.
