This large ca. 1860's JENNY LIND CRADLE in walnut is stained dark. The head and foot and side spindle posts all are beautifully turned in the traditional Jenny Lind pattern. The slats and slat framework are newer. This is a large. Sturdy cradle measuring 40 inches long, 22.5 inches wide, and stands 37.5 inches high. This is a great decorative piece and could be used as the companion to a doll or bear collection. This item has some condition problems. Walnut Jenny Lind Style Twin Bed
We are very pleased and excited to be offering a pair of Jenny Lind twin size full walnut spindle beds for sale. We acquired these beds at a recent estate sale and have made only small repairs to them. The break in picture 6 has been repaired. They were stored in a barn for quite some time. These beds are solid walnut. They have had extensions added some time ago and the work is pretty well done. This Jenny Lind spindle bed has some mars from its age and wear as well as a couple of splits, breaks and cracks. The headboard where the piece is missing, I do recall mention that they would give that to us, I will check to make sure we received it. There is also a break on the headboard between one of the spindles and at the footboard one of the spindles is broken. Also, one of the extensions has cracked, however it does remain solid. Antique Jenny Lind walnut spool twin bed with slats 100+ yrs in my family
You are b idding on an antique Jenny Lind spool bed in twin size. This bed has been in my family for at least 5 generations. When I was a little girl my sister and I needed beds(this was about 1963) So my grandparents went into the old brick one-room schoolhouse on their property, which they used as a storage shed. These beds had been stored in there for at least 60 years by that time. It is a twin bed frame. Included are: headboard. Foot board, original wood side rails, original slats(which were made from antique wood floor boards by my great-grand-father) There is original metal hardware to connect the side rails to the head and foot board- it is a metal keyhole slot. I have tried to photo graph its condition as accurately as I can. For such a well-used piece. Its overall condition is pretty good. The finish is worn. Which I personally ... morelove, but you could paint it too. There is a missing ch unk out of the foot board"shoulder" which is about 1 inch by 2 inches. It still works fine. But needs to be filled with wood putty or similar to make it look better. A few places have been glued back together over the years. There are numerous screw holes from people putting the bed together, although it will assemble without the screws. The wood slats simply set into the niches of the side rails. They can be screwed into place for a more permanent solution. The second bed is being offered in a separate listing. For parts. Sadly, it has not weathered as well as its mate. Antique Walnut Jenny Lind 3/4 Size Spool Bed - Good Condition - Early 1900s
This was purchased prior to 1930 by my grandmother. It is a Jenny Lind style 3/4 spool bed in solid walnut in very good condition. I did not like the dark finish and had it stripped to the natural finish. It comes with the original metal springs and the mattress. Full-sized sheets work well. The mattress was unfortunately damaged by water from when it was in my condo storage unit. It was a very small amount of water. But it damaged the one of the short ends of the mattress. The damage looks to be possibly from rust from the frame inside that material. That said, I want to keep it wrapped in the plastic so I don't want to check further. Mattress companies can find 3/4 mattresses if this one doesn't meet your needs. I dismantled the bed a few years ago and all of the pieces(but the box springs) And the mattress, have been wrapped in ... moreplastic from the moving company since then. I do not want to remove the plastic, so I did not put the bed back together for an assembled picture. The entire bed consists of a head board and foot board 38" high by 53.5" wide by 2.5" deep; side rails 72.5" long; nine slats to place under the metal box springs. The box springs could likely be placed on the rails without the slats, but the slats add stability and my family has always used them. Finally, the mattress is included.

This piece could also be utilized as sitting furniture in a foryer. Etc. The design is spindle and the wood is walnut. It comes with a very old velvet burgundy mattress that perfectly fits the support wood blocks that form a ledge on the inside of the wood side rails. It has very old roller casters on the legs. We believe the mattress. Casters and original fastening side rail hardware make this piece even more rare! There are no bed slats, but there is space for slats should they be added. The mattress is firm and the bed is very sturdy when sitting or laying on it(even without slats) The measurements are: 35" in height from the floor to ... morethe top of the head and foot boards; 75" in length(front leg to the corresponding back leg) and 30" wide(front leg to the corresponding front leg and same for the back legs) The mattress is 27" wide. 72" long and 9" thick. Condition: the headboard and footboard are in very good condition for their age; the bottom of the legs show the most blemishes; one of the wood side rails is marked Bess and Bess Lottis on the inside; the under liner on the mattress has two tears(one is larger than the other) the side rails show blemishes from over the years; one side rail has a crack in the wood. This spool bed has been in my posession for decades. It was professionally refinished in the early 1980's. Crafted in the early 1800's it measures 3 feet by 6 feet. Originally it was made for slats. Metal brackets have been added allowing a plywood board for a mattress. The bed is complete: headboard. Footboard, side rails. A classic of American furniture it is at home with many decors.
