Up for bid is an Early. Stoneware Whiskey Crock Jug. The jug measures 11- 1/2 inches tall. And the base is 6-3/4 inches in diameter. Due to age and use there are some imperfections. There is a chip in the top(picture#8) lots of crazing, and some manufacturer imperfections(picture#4 and 5) There are also some cracks at the base of the jug(picture#3) but the cracks do not compromise the integrity of the jug. Antique Stoneware, Salt-Glazed Brown Crock, Catawba Valley, Carolina Primitive
Exceptional quality. Small alkaline or salt glazed, primitive antique crock. 6 1/4 inches high, about 3 inch top diameter, about 4 1/4 inch bottom diameter. Looks to be just under 5 inches around(diameter) in the middle. Nice luster, looks different in every kind of light. Glaze is nicely variegated- study photos to get the feel and look of this relatively heavy piece(for its size) Does not appear to be missing a lid- the way the opening was made, I do not believe this ever had a lid, at least not a ceramic one that would have been incorporated into the clay design when the piece was hand thrown. Looks like this crock could originate from the Catawba Valley Pottery, but just my opinion. Glaze& form reminds me a little bit of Pewabic Pottery pieces, but not iridescent. Not much wear given its age- glaze has rubbed off in a few small spots ... morearound the rim(see photo) but no serious chips or cracks. Bottom is unmarked. All sales are final- no returns. primitive distressed STAR crock/ nice
Here is a new primitive smaller size decor crock and it made of a heavyduty pottery or clay type material. It has a distressed washed gry finish that has a washed spongy black finish around bottom and top rim of it and does have small cracks and spots in finish but are made this way to look aged, it has a rustic tan/clay color finish on inside and the front on crock has a cutout star design, this measures 4 inch x 4 inch wide and is 3 3/4 inch high and would accent any room of the home sitting on a shelf or tabletop or desk etc. and could sit a votive candle in a holder inside it to or could fill with greens etc. i have more listed to if you want more then 1, also check out my many other nice home decor listed to that would go great with this item and i have tin lighting and lamps that would accent a home nicely and i do combine shipping.

Old Antique Primitive Canning Crock Jar Stoneware Salt Glaze Crazing
HELLO and thanks for looking at our auction! Today we have an old antique crock that we think may have been a canning crock many years ago. It looks like a date on the bottom but we can't quite make it out but we have taken pictures of it. It has lots of flaws and chips around the top and lots of staining and crazing. There is also a hairline crack in the top and we have tried to show it in the pictures. This old crock measures 6 1/2" tall and 5 1/2" across the bottom and 4 1/4" across the top. The rim is 1/2" thick around the top and it is very heavy. It weighs 3 1/2 pounds. It is missing the bale but the holes for the bale are still intact. It is also missing the lid. This old Crock is still very pretty even with all the chips. Stains and flaws. It has lots of crazing all over the outside and inside, and would look ... moregood with the old primitives collection. VTG 1910s 1920s Primitive Salt Glazed Stoneware Crock Bucket Cincinnati Ohio
Very interesting salt glazed heavy bucket. Found at the Taft Theatre in Cincinnati. Ohio when working on recent renovations. This bucket was black with oil and dust. It was found in the mechanical room where it was used to refill the oilers. It took some doing, but we were able to cut the grime. As you can see, the bucket is in fantastic condition. We estimate its age to be 1910s/1920s era or possibly earlier(the theatre was built in the early 20s and this bucket has been there since that time) The edge has a small lip that comes off of it. There is a tight crack along one side which is typical of this type of crockery. Also some glaze slips- also typical. No maker's marks on the piece. Very nice primitive item. Rare Primitive Stamped 3 Gallon Crock Antique Salt Glazed Crock W Cobalt -Fisher
Unique hand painted three gallon salt glazed crock with beautiful cobalt blue markings. This is one from my personal collection that I need to whittle down a little bit. Its absolutely beautiful! The cobalt blue flower and number three richly stand out. The front of the crock is STAMPED"J FISHER LYONS NY" and was made sometime between 1872 and 1902. It measures 9 3/4" tall and 11" wide not including the handles. There are two cracks on the back that are pictured. Since they are on the back they do not affect the ability to display this piece. Antique Primitive Hand Painted Stoneware Covered Crock/Jar Description. This is a Fantastic Antique Tall Stoneware covered crock/jar with hand painted floral design. This was acquired from an elderly estate in excellent Antique condition with normal signs of age and wear/loss of paint. The crock/jar measures app 9 and 1/8" in height by app 6.5" across the base. There are no cracks or breaks. But does have some mild chipping on the edge of the lid(see pictures) and normal glaze blemish's that you would expect in old Stoneware(see pictures) as well as wear to the painted floral design on the front of the jar at the rim and on the lid most of the paint is worn. Antique primitive Vintage Dark Brown Crock Jar Wax Seal?
Antique dark brown crock jar used for vegetables or fruit. The lid was sealed to the jar with wax i believe. Such jars date back to the 1200's however this one is probably from the late 1800's- to the early 1900s. It is in very good condition considering it's age. The inside rim is rough and has small chips. As you can see in the picture. There is some discoloration at the bottom, appears to be a manufacturing flaw. Otherwise there are no other cracks, other chips and the glaze is in good condition. This would be a great addition to a collection. Pictures are part of description also. I will combine postage I have considerable inventory I need to consolidate and doesn't help that I keep adding to it. If you find something you like remember I will combine postage.

PRIMITIVE ANTIQUE TWO GALLON STONEWARE CHURN CROCK WITH APPLIED HANDLES
Up for bids is this wonderful antique primitive two gallon stoneware pottery churn crock with two great looking applied handles. It stands 14" tall. 5 1/4" wide at mouth, 6 3/4" at base, and approx. 8" at its widest point. I do not know the age but I believe it is quite early. It does have a pretty long hair line crack that runs from the mid-upper body to the bottom of the base as shown in the pictures. Offered for your bidding consideration is a stoneware churn found in the basement of a home located in Stockton. California. The original home was built some time in the second half of the 19th century. It shows up on an old 1877 city map. It was situated on an early California grape vineyard. The original home was destroyed or demolished some time around 1900. Another home was built on the property to replace it. The owner(s) continued the vineyard for decades. Now nothing is left but the 2nd house and barn. This churn has all the right stuff going for it. Period craftsmanship, correct material, correct look, etc. I found others like it but they were severely damaged. What you are viewing is an original antique 3-4 gallon(I Think) Stoneware crock with applied handles and a wonderful blue bee sting decoration on the front. Piece is in great shape for its age with some wear and aging to contend with as well as one 6in crack starting from the top. Piece has nice clean handles and crack is in the back of the piece so it won't detract much in display. Piece measures 9in X 8 3/4in X 13 3/4in and is a nice displayable size but once again, I am not sure about the gallon size. It measures about 12" tall by 8" wide. It is in good condition for its age. This is a very early 1920's primitive stoneware crock bowl. It has a heavy brown glaze. You can see it was hand turned. 10 1/4" wide and 5" tall. It is very heavy. Ruckel's Pottery was popular at the end of the 1800s and into the early part of the 1900s. It is in great condition and very clean. It measures 9.5" tall and 9.5" in diameter.
