Rare Old Stoneware Crock Lid Nice Design 2 or 3 Gallon crock 10" lid
Up for auction today is a Vintage S to neware lid Unknown ma ker and item this goes on. But. I found it on top of a Monmouth 2 Gallon crock, and it fit, but just a bit big and d id not look right. So I am pretty sure it did not go with it-but would assume it would be for a 2 or 3 gallon stoneware crock. Measures just over 1 0.25" diameter and is 8.5" wide at t he insert that goes into the crock. That part is be veled or ang eled. Extremely Rare M&T Miller Newport, PA 2 Gallon Crock (Near Mint)
You are bidding on a original 2 gallon M& T Miller decorated stoneware from Newport. Pennsylvania. This crock has a beautifully painted large cobalt blue floral design. These crocks are extremely rare and have sold at auction for well over $10.000. The crock displays beautifully with the painted blue floral design being in extremely fine condition. At the top of the crock the words"M. T. Miller Newport. PA 2" can be seen. This crock is in very nice condition. I would describe it as mint if there wasn't a couple extremely minor flaws. At the top of the crock there are two small chips measuring 1/8" 1/4" No Cracks There are two more chips. But can not be seen when being displayed. Underneath the one handle I can feel a very small chip, and on the bottom of the crock is another chip. I took a picture of where the ... morechip on the bottom is to illustrate that it can not be seen when it is sitting flat(2nd to last photo) It can only be seen when the crock is flipped over. I live roughly 15 minutes from Newport. PA and came across one a few months ago and listed it for sale. That crock had a couple major problems with it including two large cracks that almost went the entire way down the crock. It also had numerous chips. I have seen one M&T Miller jug for sale on ebay since then, and no crocks since mine. And when I searched on ebay when I purchased the first crock I could not find one that had been sold. This shows just how extremely rare these crocks are. Also, to find one in this type of condition could, without paying an extremely high price, take months upon months if not years. On the bottom of the crock the word"Peffer" can be seen. I am not sure if this was possibly the last name of a worker who made it. Or if it was the original owner. 2 Gallon Blue Crown Stoneware Water Serving Cooler Crock W/ Lid & Spigot Old
This is a Vintage Blue Crown 2 Gallon Stoneware water Cooler Crock With Lid A nd Sp igot. Th is is a cool old crock. I do not know it's exact age. I t looks like the lid may be a replacement but I cannot tell for sure. The spigot is pla stic and the interior of the cr ock and lid are immaculate so your guess as to the age of this is as good as mine. This would make a big hit on your Thanksgiving beverage table or next summer picnic. The exterior of the crock has quite a bit of crazing and also has a yellowi sh discoloration of the glaze. i do not know if it could be cleaned off but I do know it adds to the character of the item. Antique 19th C Stoneware Blue Flower Decorated Ovoid 2 Gallon Crock 12"
We are listing today for your consideration a lovely Antique 19th Century Stoneware Saltglazed Cobalt Blue Flower Design 2 Gallon Ovoid Crock. This crock is in Excellent Condition with a few spider cracks on the base with 2 going through to the inside. 3 of them extend up the outside bottom of the crock. There are minor shallow chips to the upper rim. Both outside and inside. The crock is 100% structually sound, it rings true when you tap it and holds water no leaks. No other issues at all. The crock measures 12" tall x 10" wide x 8" at the mouth x 6 1/4" at the base and weighs approximately 10lb 10oz. The crock has an incised 2 below the one handle. A lovely large crock with a great ovoid shape and applied handles. It has a heavy and dark cobalt blue flower and leaf design that borders the top half of the crock. 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Crock 5" tall by 7" diameter SMALL FRACTURE,ADDS CHARACTER!
This auction is for a vintage 1/2 gallon stoneware crock. This measures right at 5" tall and has a diameter right at 7"across. This has a fracture in the that start part way down the side and continues half way across the bottom. This is a fracture not a break. I am not sure what the crock was used for, I have cleaned it up, you may want to do more. Most crocks will have a fracture and some blemishes, to me it adds character to these pieces. Friends Monica's Kitchen Homemade 1c Pickles Crock - Large 2 Gallon Size
This is a two gallon Homemade 1c Pickle crock like the one in Monica's Kitchen on the T.V. show Friends. The crock measures 9 1/4" tall without the lid and is 10" wide. It is a 2 gallon crock. There are some manufacturing flaws that can be seen in the photos. But the writing on the crock is unflawed. There is some staining inside the crock but it appears to be under the glaze. There is crazing of the glaze, but there are no chips that I can find. It is a well made heavy piece, meant to last. This is a great display item or is useful for storage in the kitchen or for utensils. I wouldn't be getting rid of it but I have my grandmother's Pickle Crock in the kitchen too, and since I'm downsizing, one of them has to go and Grandma outweighs Monica. This is the first birch leaf Red Wing crock that I have seen that is also bottom marked. In the 3rd picture there is a dark"x" on the inside I'm not sure. But think it may be a hairline. There is also an"x" hairline on the outside as well, it is not in the same spot as the one on the inside. Also has a few chips around the base. T.F. Reppert antique stoneware crock from Greensboro PA. Sadly this one is broken. It was shipped to my father and didn't survive the trip. He is thinning out his collection beginning with the broken ones. This was broken into pieces and glue repaired. I'm sure a professional repair job could be possible. But this feels pretty sturdy as is. It would not hold water but still displays well. It's a beautiful piece of history that can't be replaced and shouldn't just be thrown away because it's broken. So, in it's AS IS state, with this low starting price I would say this would be a great piece to bulk up a growing or new collection, or for shelf display. Low starting price for a piece that would be worth over $200 in mint condition. This is a 2 gallon crock that measures 7.25" across the top, 12" tall, and ... more7.5" across the bottom. This 2 gallon crock stands 10 1/2 inches tall and is 9 7/8 inches across the rim. The only issue I noticed is a 1 1/2 inch area of crazing on the rim. Of course there are imperfections from the maker of this crock, such ... moreas air bubbles in the glaze, a few areas where the glaze is missing- mostly along the top and bottom rims and inconsistencies in the glaze, including drips. There is a mis-placed piece of clay on the inside bottom that was glazed over. Of course these imperfections are what gives this crock it's appeal. I think there is a signature on the bottom, but I am not able to make it out. Please be sure to inspect all the pictures for condition before buying. As always. The top or mouth measures 7 1/2" across on direction and 8" across in the opposite E-W N-S. The pattern lines around the top are not complete all the way around the crock. WARNER WEST TROY with a hollow Numeral"2" beneath indicating two allon capacity size in nice mid grey smooth patina with attractive country good looks. Snatched from a deaccessioned downsized collection of over 30 years in New York State just last week. This item is market fresh and never wandered far from its manufacture area and was found within 50 miles of where made, very local indeed. That's just how I like to find them for you as I know many collectors seek only local stonewares for their collection near to where they live. No cracks, hairlines, no rim chips, no stone pings, the clay was finely milled during manufacture and it really is evident is final quality of output from the Warner factory in upstate New York, near king in stoneware productions of all the states for fancy works as well as early forms for collectors. Here is a Vintage Red Wing Minnesota Union Stoneware Co. 2 Gallon Crock. It is rare because of a factory flaw- the oval was applied upside down! I understand that this occurrence is not unheard of. But it is rare. Here is an opportunity to add a different crock to your collection. The crock is in pretty nice condition. Has some wear and a very minor chip along the bottom rim. A very nice 2 gallon crock from Fort Edward Stoneware Co. in Fort Edward N.Y. It's condition is pretty good. There are 2 chips on the outer rim. One is 1/2" and the other is 1/4" both are located towards the back of the crock. Right next to the larger chip is a very faint hairline crack, it is somewhat visable in the last 2 photos. Also there are some small small areas or discoloration, again visable in the photos. The Crock stand 9 1/4" tall and 9 1/2" across the base. All in all this is a very nice crock for its age. Antique 2 gallon stoneware crock. In cobalt blue it states Marshall Pottery Inc the number 2 Marshall, TX and also cobalt blue lines going around. This is a nice old stoneware whiskey jug. The Pepsi can in the photo is a regular 12 oz can. It is in the photo so you can see the true size of this piece.
