It is in excellent condition without any chips or cracks, the rim has slight crimps in a few spots and I do have the original box. There are no markings on this item. I believe it is salt glazed and features a cobalt blue bird. We are listing today for your consideration a lovely Antique 19th Century Stoneware Saltglazed Cobalt Blue Design Small Crock. This crock is in Excellent Condition with 2 very minor shallow chips to the upper rim and a very minor split on the inside of the crock. This happened during the making of the crock. The base has some roughness to it. Another issue that happened during the making of this crock. We guarantee 100% you will be more than happy with the excellent condition of this crock. The crock measures 8 5/8" tall x 5 1/4" at the mouth x 5" at the base and weighs approximately 4lb 2oz. The crock has a lovely bordering design of bright cobalt blue leaf design. H. GILBERT. GENERAL MERCHANT, MANSFIELD" Cobalt Blue Decorated Stoneware Crock Up for sale is this very cool cobalt blue decorated stoneware crock. Marked"H. GILBERT, GENERAL MERCHANT, MANSFIELD. We can't recall seeing this very charming mark before, and can't seem to find any record of stoneware being sold with this mark, so we're guessing it's at least very scarce if not quite rare. Probably dates to the late 1800's, we're also guessing. We're also not sure, but believe this is either from Mansfield, Ohio or Mansfield, Massachusetts. The only other flaws are in the making glaze pops as can be seen in the photos, one just above the g in general(with a bit of cobalt glaze over it) and then there's one on the interior and two on the back side(each about 1/4 inch across) and some minor imperfections, scratches and wear as to be expected with a utilitarian stoneware piece. Antique 1 Gallon Stoneware Gray Colored Crock With Cobalt Blue Feather Design
Up for bids is a one gallon antique gray colored stoneware crock with a cobalt blue feather pattern as pictured. The crock is probably native to here in southwestern Pennsylvania where many famous potters made their crocks and jugs with this color clay and blue designs in the mid 1800's. The crock stands 10 1/4" high and measures 6 1/4" wide across the top rim and 6 3/4" wide across the bottom. If your looking at the crock from the front where the number one is there is one chip on the top left side. One chip on the bottom edge on the right side and a tight 4" long hairline crack on the back side as seen in the pictures. Otherwise the crock is in very nice solid condition. AAFA - Small 19th c. Butter Crock w/Cover, Cobalt Blue Swags, 1/2 Gal.
Found in New England is this great looking. Slightly tapered 1/2 gal. salt-glazed stoneware cake crock with 7 repeating dark cobalt blue swags. The dark tan glaze is still glossy and completely covers the bottom as well as the sides. There is a decorative incised line 1-1/2" down from the top that goes completely around the crock. The interior is a rich brown albany slip. Included with the crock is a very nicely fitting lid, although I'm not sure if it is original to the crock. The crock stands only 4-3/4" high with an 11/16" lip x 7-3/8" wide at the top, and 7-3/4" wide at the bottom. The condition is excellent and solid, although there is a professionally filled hairline that can be seen in the last photo. There are also a few old surface chips on the top of the lid. Simple& Charming this Churn Stands 14” tall& 8 ¾” across bottom. The butter churn crock is in very good condition. No hairlines. Cracks, breaks or repairs. On inner rim there are 3 small chips under a ½” The Salt Glaze Butter Churn is solid& not marked. Molded handles are secure. According to the Red Wing stoneware encyclopedia. It has subtle ribbing the whole length of jug and varying colors of cobalt blues and some brown as well. Found in early homestead in Putnum county Virginia. Jug is peppered throughout and has blue rings around top and bottom. Near mint condition no chips. Cracks, hairlines or repairs. measures 14" tall 8" at widest point and 5" across bottom and holds 2 gallons. Has manufacturers hole near bottom(see pic) and was probably corked. This miniature speckled stoneware crock has a deep colbalt blue four leaf clover and blue circles on either side of it and the name Rumborf on the other side(if I am reading it correctly? I do not know much about it except that I bought it in an antique shop and I can not find anything on the name on the internet. I did find that there was a potter in Maryland that often painted clovers and the clay was speckled. A wonderful miniature stoneware piece. Could be used for melted butter or as a cordial or could be planter in doll house. The crock displays very nicely. Then you look at it with a close examining eye you start to notice the manufactoring errors. The top or mouth measures 7 1/2" across on direction and 8" across in the opposite E-W N-S. The pattern lines around the top are not complete all the way around the crock. This is a lovely Antique Early 20th Century 2-Gallon CROWN“Cobalt Blue” Banded in Mint Condition. The crock has no lid or spigot. The crock is clearly marked with the CROWN logo and 2 Gallon size number in the same Cobalt Blue as the band at its center. The Crock is in Mint Condition with no breaks. Chips, cracks or crazing- not even a hairline or nick. It is absolutely pristine. I have never seen another crock with this many decorative“Cobalt Blue” bands. There are 6 of them encircling the crock, each 1/2” wide, 1 at the top, 1 at the bottom and 2 sets 2 on each side of the center. The crock measures 7-1/2” across the top, curving outward to 9” across its bulbous center and narrowing to 8” across the base and stands 11-3/4” high. The stoneware is 1/2” thick. Weight is slightly over 2 pounds, and the crock measures 6-1/4" height with a base diameter of 4-9/16" by 4-1/2" and the ovoid top is 5-1/2" diameter by 4-3/4" diameter. A fantastic three gallon stoneware crock in excellent aged condition with only a few rim chips the only distraction. Made by and clearly stamped" NEW YORK STONEWARE CO. 3" inside a dotted rectangular border with remnants of a blue cobalt wash. The company was a profuse producer of fine decorated stoneware in Ft. Edward. New York from 1859-1885. This highly collectible example features a large blue cobalt ... moreblooming floral decoration complete with dotted pistils that covers the entire front of the piece. Masterfully executed with great attention to detail. Done with a beautiful light blue cobalt with no frying except at the high points of the dots. A wonderful piece of 153 year old decorated stoneware chock full of crudity and character! Note the crudely formed elephant ear handles that were formed and applied by hand. A thick even coat of salt glaze was expertly applied during firing. Lending the piece a shiny light brown aged patina. This wonderful antique crock comes to you in the highly collectible three gallon size. A size with great appeal to collectors as it will display just about anywhere. The interior is lined with a typical chocolate brown Albany Slip. Condition: Excellent for a crock over 150 years old. The only distraction are three exterior flake type chips at the back of the rim and one large at the inside rea of the rim along with some tiny nicks along the rim edge. Vintage 6 Gallon Salt Glaze Hand Turned Stoneware Crock Cobalt Blue Eagle Design Very Nice Thanks for taking the time to visit my Ebay store. Up sale is a very nice vintage 6 gallon salt glaze hand turned crock stoneware. The inside has the brown slip interior, and the hand turned rigid( see picture) The croc k is in very good cond ition. Ther e are two very small chips on the inside top rim o f the crock( see picture) And one small chip on the outside bottom rim. On the left handle side( see picture) There are no cracks, the salt glaze clay is beautiful, the crock has elephant ear handles, and two incised lines going around the crock at the handles area( see picture) The design of the crock is just wonderful, it is a cobalt blue eagle with spreading wings, the wing spand is 8" long, the eagle is standing on a very nice cobalt blue design ... morewith the word E PLURIBUS UNUM, also in cobalt blue, this word is found on the back of a dollar bill, the word is Latin, the word mean"out of many" under the eagle design, at the bottom of the crock is more cobalt blue design, it is the number 6 the gallon of the crock, inside blue cobalt design very nice( see picture) It is nice to see a 6 gallon crock with the eagle design, usually find it in a 3, or 4 gallon size, the cobalt designs are ver y vi brant. And clear( see picture) This crock is beautiful, great to admire, the crock will be a wonderful a dd ition to any stoneware collection. Or a great candidate to begin collecting crock stoneware. Antique. A. P. Donaghho- Parkersburg, W. Va. Salt Glazed 5 gallon Crock with unique Cobalt Blue triple Zipper or Tire Track Decorations. Very Handsome and is in Very Good Condition with 1 tight hairline! It stands 18" tall and measures 9" across the top opening and 9 1/2" across the bottom. The cobalt blue Stencil decorations covers most of the front with a large number"5" at the top and the Zipper decorations across the middle and reads, A. P. Donaghho- Parkersburg, W. Va" across the bottom. The hairline crack runs about 7" from the top rim- down. Over the years, someone has put the coated rubber wire around the crock when the Crock was moved from W. Va. to Ohio. This was done as a precautionary measure. This is a Very solid Crock but I will leave the wire on to help ensure safe transport. Very nice antique brown and white stoneware pickle crock. 6 for the 6 gallon crock is stenciled in cobalt blue in the front. Crock has molded ear handles for easy lifting. There are no cracks in this crock although one of the ears has a very small chip. Perfect crock for decorating to add a little charm to any room or area. Measures 14" High and 12" Across.

Nearly perfect, there is one small hairline surface crack on the inside that is documented in the photos but otherwise is in great condition. The cobalt blue King Crown emblem adds to it's character.
