Up for bid is an Early. Stoneware Whiskey Crock Jug. The jug measures 11- 1/2 inches tall. And the base is 6-3/4 inches in diameter. Due to age and use there are some imperfections. There is a chip in the top(picture#8) lots of crazing, and some manufacturer imperfections(picture#4 and 5) There are also some cracks at the base of the jug(picture#3) but the cracks do not compromise the integrity of the jug. Antique Stoneware, Salt-Glazed Brown Crock, Catawba Valley, Carolina Primitive
Exceptional quality. Small alkaline or salt glazed, primitive antique crock. 6 1/4 inches high, about 3 inch top diameter, about 4 1/4 inch bottom diameter. Looks to be just under 5 inches around(diameter) in the middle. Nice luster, looks different in every kind of light. Glaze is nicely variegated- study photos to get the feel and look of this relatively heavy piece(for its size) Does not appear to be missing a lid- the way the opening was made, I do not believe this ever had a lid, at least not a ceramic one that would have been incorporated into the clay design when the piece was hand thrown. Looks like this crock could originate from the Catawba Valley Pottery, but just my opinion. Glaze& form reminds me a little bit of Pewabic Pottery pieces, but not iridescent. Not much wear given its age- glaze has rubbed off in a few small spots ... morearound the rim(see photo) but no serious chips or cracks. Bottom is unmarked. All sales are final- no returns. Antique Primitive Pennsylvania Stoneware Redware Turks Head Cake Bundt Mold 1870
ANTIQUE PENNSYLVANIA REDWARE TURKS HEAD MOLD This very nice Turks Head redware cake mold is one of two that was removed from a Central Pennsylvania estate near Troxelville. It measures 8-1/2" in diameter x 2-1/2' tall. The mold features a capped center chimney and a pumpkin color that has good contrast against the darker manganese interior decoration. The mold remains in very good condition for its age just showing normal wear especially on the bottom. It has surface only hairlines and old flea bite size nicks on the top rim. Old Antique Primitive Canning Crock Jar Stoneware Salt Glaze Crazing
HELLO and thanks for looking at our auction! Today we have an old antique crock that we think may have been a canning crock many years ago. It looks like a date on the bottom but we can't quite make it out but we have taken pictures of it. It has lots of flaws and chips around the top and lots of staining and crazing. There is also a hairline crack in the top and we have tried to show it in the pictures. This old crock measures 6 1/2" tall and 5 1/2" across the bottom and 4 1/4" across the top. The rim is 1/2" thick around the top and it is very heavy. It weighs 3 1/2 pounds. It is missing the bale but the holes for the bale are still intact. It is also missing the lid. This old Crock is still very pretty even with all the chips. Stains and flaws. It has lots of crazing all over the outside and inside, and would look ... moregood with the old primitives collection. Rare Primitive Stamped 3 Gallon Crock Antique Salt Glazed Crock W Cobalt -Fisher
Unique hand painted three gallon salt glazed crock with beautiful cobalt blue markings. This is one from my personal collection that I need to whittle down a little bit. Its absolutely beautiful! The cobalt blue flower and number three richly stand out. The front of the crock is STAMPED"J FISHER LYONS NY" and was made sometime between 1872 and 1902. It measures 9 3/4" tall and 11" wide not including the handles. There are two cracks on the back that are pictured. Since they are on the back they do not affect the ability to display this piece. Antique primitive Vintage Dark Brown Crock Jar Wax Seal?
Antique dark brown crock jar used for vegetables or fruit. The lid was sealed to the jar with wax i believe. Such jars date back to the 1200's however this one is probably from the late 1800's- to the early 1900s. It is in very good condition considering it's age. The inside rim is rough and has small chips. As you can see in the picture. There is some discoloration at the bottom, appears to be a manufacturing flaw. Otherwise there are no other cracks, other chips and the glaze is in good condition. This would be a great addition to a collection. Pictures are part of description also. I will combine postage I have considerable inventory I need to consolidate and doesn't help that I keep adding to it. If you find something you like remember I will combine postage.

PRIMITIVE ANTIQUE TWO GALLON STONEWARE CHURN CROCK WITH APPLIED HANDLES
Up for bids is this wonderful antique primitive two gallon stoneware pottery churn crock with two great looking applied handles. It stands 14" tall. 5 1/4" wide at mouth, 6 3/4" at base, and approx. 8" at its widest point. I do not know the age but I believe it is quite early. It does have a pretty long hair line crack that runs from the mid-upper body to the bottom of the base as shown in the pictures. The crack is stable but If you run your fingernail across the crack you can feel it. It has a great look and patina and would still be a great display piece. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!

I have had this piece in my personal collection for years and have not been able to identify it. Any experts out there are welcome and encouraged to comment on this piece. This is a stoneware jug or flask. It is made with gray colored clay with a Bennington type glaze. It is defiantly handmade. It appears to have a base that the top was applied on to. The neck is very thin. The inside hole is only about the size of a pencil. The opening is approximately 1.5” on one side and the other side is crimped in measuring about 1” It has two applied handles. It has coggle lines. Two on one side and three on the other as it looks like they got off track with the coggle. This piece has many imperfections that were ... morea part of the making process. There are bumps. Dips, missing glaze etc. Please see pictures. I think that these imperfections are what make it so amazing. There are no cracks. It stands 8” tall, aprx. 3” wide and 4” long. The original home was built some time in the second half of the 19th century. It shows up on an old 1877 city map. It was situated on an early California grape vineyard. The original home was destroyed or demolished some time around 1900. Another home was built on the property to replace it. The owner(s) continued the vineyard for decades. Now nothing is left but the 2nd house and barn. This churn has all the right stuff going for it. Period craftsmanship, correct material, correct look, etc. I found others like it but they were severely damaged. What you are viewing is an original antique 3-4 gallon(I Think) Stoneware crock with applied handles and a wonderful blue bee sting decoration on the front. Piece is in great shape for its age with some wear and aging to contend with as well as one 6in crack starting from the top. Piece has nice clean handles and crack is in the back of the piece so it won't detract much in display. Piece measures 9in X 8 3/4in X 13 3/4in and is a nice displayable size but once again, I am not sure about the gallon size. It measures about 12" tall by 8" wide. It is in good condition for its age. This is a very early 1920's primitive stoneware crock bowl. It has a heavy brown glaze. You can see it was hand turned. 10 1/4" wide and 5" tall. It is very heavy. There are no chips or cracks but there may be a pop in the glaze. The edge of this bowl has a nice design. All the bowls I have listed came from a farm in rural Pennsylvania. It has a white glaze and stamped in cobalt blue'Ruckel's Stoneware' mark and'2' for 2 gallon size. Established in 1870 in White Hall Illinois. Ruckel's Pottery was popular at the end of the 1800s and into the early part of the 1900s. It is in great condition and very clean. It measures 9.5" tall and 9.5" in diameter. No glaze pops but there are a few chips on the bottom and a crack on the outer top(see pics) Normal wear from use. Age and storage. Found at an estate sale. Please excuse flash on photos. See all specifics below. SPECIFICATIONS: Maker/Item Name/Pattern# za820) Information: This is a wonderful. Rustic old crock. It has a rich, dark brown glossy glaze with a silvery/green iridescence. The 1st and 2nd photos are the closest in color to the actual. The shot of the interior is not as dark as my photo. It is not marked. Size: 7 1/8"d X 5"h- approx. dimensions Quantity: 1- Crock Condition: VERY GOOD- no cracks but there are couple. Shallow chips on the top lip. One is just inside the lip, and the other is on the outside. Neither are bad(1/4"d) and they just add to it's primitive appeal. There are many tiny scratches in both the exterior and interior from years of use. The glaze is fabulous and there are bubbles, glaze pops, skipped glaze, and flakes- all factory flaws. There is fine ... morecrazing all over. It is one of the nicest, rustic crocks I've had in a long time.much nicer than my photos show. I always pack items carefully and am happy to combine shipping. When possible and refund difference in costs after packing. I list items that are in great, usable condition. The exception would be an item so beautiful or rare that still has value as a decorative object.
