This one looks to be from the later part of 19th Century. The size is 14" tall and the lid lifts up on the 2 posts. The lid is embossed with a bird design and the lower section features faces on the 4 feet. Also included is an antique butter knife as well that sits in the front but this is made by 1847 Rogers Bros with a monogram that says Keith. The butter dish is not monogrammed.

It's very unusual and in general good condition, there is a short crack near the rim as shown in photo which includes a chip at the end of the crack on the inside. On the crock rim. There's a spot that has been worn down from sharpening knives on it. I have fond memories of my mom handing this crock to my dad with a knife to sharpen as dinner was being prepared.many years of this is shown in the wear to the same spot. 1914 written on bottom. This is a small but great old crock. It has no identifying marks. It has lovely character marks and signs of age. The is one very fine crack less than two inches long extending from the rim down and is visible in the enlarged picture of the inside. We have this old Redwing butter churn crock to offer in good as found condition. It is marked with the wing and Union Stoneware logo. It has wire handles. No lid and a nice 4" wing. The crock has a flaw on the bottom that looks like it was made this way. Just a hole, small. not a chip. There is a 1" crack that is on the bottom rim that is also a firing crack. Only shallow and not seen inside. This is a good Redwing Churn and is a hard to find piece. It is in good clean condition and is 16 1/2" tall. Offering antique 19th century large covered stoneware salt glaze butter crock with mold fruit and floral decoration on the body of the crock and the lid. The condition of the crock is excellent. The lid has one small flat flake on the ede only. The background of the surface has been decorated with molded wave pattern- see pictures. The name BUTTER is molded on the front of the crock.There is original metal wire handle. It is 6 3/4" in diameter and 3 1/2" deep. Measures with the lid the covered butter crock is 4 1/8" tall and the lid is 6 5/8" across. Weight before packing is 3.12 lbs. This is old item and demonstrate characteristic of age including wear on the bottom and top edge. As identified in the Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware. This auction is for a common pattern Daisy And Trellis Butter Holder. It measures 6" wide by 4.75 tall. Mint value $125- $175. There are six large daisies on a close trellis background. This is missing a lid and a bail which it held at one time. Bail holes for this mold were not made to go through to the interior. There is one fine hairline crack on the interior of bail hole placement that extends from top down approx 2.75" it is not visible on outside surface. The opposite bail hole has an old chip on the ear approx 1/2" long. Please refer to pics as details of description of condition and ask any questions before bidding. Beautiful Robin's Egg Blue Antique Salt Glaze Butter Crock With Original Lid
This auction is for a Fantastic Antique Robin's Egg Blue Salt Glaze Butter Crock with its original lid. The crock has a neat block shaped pattern around the top and bottom and is beautifully colored in a Soft Blue Salt Glaze. The crock has two side holes for a handle. Both the lid and the crock are in very good condition. Especially considering their age. There are no chips or cracks. Which is rare for crockery of this era. There are several condition issues from th e manufacturing process. Such as glaze drips and roughness around the edges. There is also a firing line around the lid handle(see last photo) It is not a crack as it doesn't go through to the other side. 1900's Antique Brown Glazed Apple Butter Quart Canning Crock With Wire Bail/Pin
Listed for your consideration is this early 1900's Brown and Grey Glazed Apple Butter Quart Canning Crock. This little gem measures approximately 6-3/4" in height(bottom of crock to top of bail) And 4-3/8" in diameter of base. The opening of mouth is 2-5/16" in diameter. The mouth also measures 3-1/16" from outer edge to outer edge in diameter. It is in excellent condition considering its age. A few minor flea bites around the mouth but no cracks. The bail and pin are rusted. I have personally used this in my kitchen for fresh cut flowers and spoon holder. A great addition for your country or primitive kitchen. This advertising piece of stoneware has a lovely ivory color with cobalt blue writing. A great bowl to keep keys and your wallet in or use in the kitchen. It is advertising Lambrecht Butter made in New Jersey and has a 12 cent deposit. Has no chips or cracks that were not original flaws in the making. There is a three veined crack at one of the 12 cent deposits area where the blue ink has flowed into. But then again this was done in the making. It holds 1 1/2 cups so it can be used as a measure. Nice old butter crock with blue stenciled lettering- stands 4 1/2" tall and about 7 1/2" across. I do not know who the manufacturer would be. Crock is shiny inside and out with no chips; however. There are two hairline cracks on opposite sides which are visible inside and out. On the outside the cracks are only 1 1/2" long; however, on the inside the cracks extend for about 3" See the last four photos. Antique Butter Churn Stoneware 6 gallon Catawba NC Two Style Handle Rare 18'5"
Up for auction is this rare and complete Catawba Valley butter churn in excellent condition. It is the largest size made and few still exist so its quite a fine piece of history. Catawba pottery is famous for the alkaline stoneware made from the river valley of western North Carolina. Has number 6 imbedded below handle and comes with churn lid and wooden dasher. This also tells me with the style and location of the number that it is a Reinhardt piece. Another tell tale sign its a Reinhardt is the ribbing or rings that you can see and feel going around the base of churn. I captured that in the 6th picture on the inside. I couldnt get a good picture of the ribbing on the outside but it is noticable and adds more character. The handles are of two styles. One of a pig ear or lug. The other is a large loop handle. This style of churn handle was ... moredeveloped to make carrying such a large churn easier. The bottom of lid has a one inch chip/crack that was done prior to glaze and firing so its a mfg default. Its the way it was made, not at all noticable(I felt it before I saw it) but please see picture for reference. The small crack/chip is filled with glaze and is nice and smooth. Measures 18.5" tall with lid on. Top rim measures almost 10" across. Bottom measures 10.25" across. The middle is a bit wider than both top and bottom but difficult to get accurate dimention. Handle to handle is 13" I took pictures outdoors. Just want to be sure you get to see accurate pictures and colors. Also the 41" dash has a crack in the bottom portion of the wood handle. Would not be seen when inside churn. Churn alone weighs 26lbs. It will be shipped carefully with foam ect and have listed it at 30lbs for packing/box weight. The dash will have to be shipped separate and would be around $15.00 extra. I will refund any shipping costs over my cost for materials. I get boxes free, but nothing else. Tonight's Auction is for a Redware Ovoid Type Crock with a handle and about 5 3\4 inches high. About 6 1\4 inches wide top to the outside and about 4 1\4 inches wide on the base. Crock originates in Pennsylvania area, made in the late 1800's mostly to hold apple butter and had inside glazes.It tapers in on the outside from the lip about an inch down and has a groove there all around horizontally. It's in very good condition totally with only two tiny nicks on the outside top lip,and several wear spots inside near base which is typical for redware insides,just so you know, no surprises. Butter Crock With Lid Stoneware Antique Mottled Color
This is one of the coolest butter crocks I have ever seen. And it comes with the original lid. The mottled coloring is a very nice touch. Looks English? At 3" tall x 4" widest its the perfect collectable size. People will want to know what this piece is. That's great conversation. The little crock is old and well used. The original vase color isn't yellow it's white. Butter has been kept in this crock for so long that the butter color has seeped under the glaze thru original glaze skips and crazing. The top of the lid is still fairly white but yellowed on the edges and bottom where the butter made contact for years. The bottom of the inside has crazing and glaze skips. That have turned black due to years of use, and then years of no use. The bottom of the butter crock shows where more of the butter has absorbed thru ... moreglaze skips and crazing. These are great for conversation starting. Collecting, or giving as gifts. Great for home, office, farm, cabin, or beach house. Good luck. Also. Antique Butter Crock Blue & White Salt Glaze Pottery; 1890's
Up for bid is a salt glaze blue and white pottery butter crock. It was made during the 1890's. Most probably in Ohio. It is missing the wire bale, but there is a vintage turned wooden handle that we will provide if you want it. The pottery is in excellent condition, there is an expansion crack on the surface near the knob that occurred when it was made. The design has an American eagle and shield. It is 4 3/4 inches tall and 6 3/4 inches across.

This was found stashed in the box of the attic of our home when we purchased in 1983 from a 92 year old man. The home was built in 1928. Actually their were a dozen bowls! I already had a small collection of vintage pottery. And these were a nice addition! Not sure exactly how old these are. It is a very nice sturdy piece. weighing 3 lbs! and would compliment any crock or stoneware collection. The stoneware/ pottery has a reddish appearance as seen along the top edge and bottom of the crock. The main colors are gray and cobalt blue. There is pitting. Definitely occurred during manufacturing. There aren't any marks to indicate as to who the manufacturer was.
