R. R. P. Co. ( Crown Brand or Robinson Ransbottom ) 3 G. Stoneware Preserve Jar
For your consideration is a R. R. P. Co. AKA Robinson Ransbottom or Crown Brand) three gallon stoneware preserve jar with a lid. This company started in Akron. Ohio as Johnson, Whitmore and Company in 1856. Through a series of mergers, acquisitions, taking on additional partners, etc. it became known as R. R. P. Co. Robinson Ransbottom Pottery Company) and was located in Roseville, Ohio. The crown is a pale black and is under the glaze. The interior is glazed with a brown glaze. This quality jar was manufactured using a two piece mold; with the seam being horizotal and approximately halfway between the top and bottom. The handles were skillfully applied. All in all this piece was made conscientously. This preserve/storage jar is approximately 13 1/2" tall and the bottom is slightly more than 9 1/4" in diameter. This preserve/storage ... morejar has 0 chips on the jar itself, however on the bottom of the lid an insignificant flake with a very tight hairline; the hairline is not visible on the top side of the lid. Also there is a crack on the bottom of the jar and I would argue that was caused by the clay not being dry enough when it was fired. The chips on the bottom the jar are glazed over; meaning the chips happened during manufacturing, before the item was fired. Check out my other listings as I combine shipping when practical. This saves the buyer money. The buyer is assured this R.R.P. Co. preserve/ storage jar will be well packaged and shipped promptly. I will try to answer any questions. I'm very easy to get along with, if communication is adequate; I check my email several times a day. I ship worldwide. In some instances, an item cannot be shipped to certain countries. Also the postage is usually higher; sometimes much higher) The best thing to do is a get a quote while the listing is active. This R.R.P. Stoneware Five Gallon Hand Turned R.R.P. Co. or Crown Brand Crock
For your consideration is a hand turned five gallon crock made by Robinson Ransbottom Pottery Company of Roseville. Ohio. This company was founded in Akron, Ohio in 1856 as Johnson, Whitmore and Company; through a series of mergers, acquisitions and taking on new partners, it became known as R.R.P. Co. and was located in Roseville. I think(think, not 100% sure; if anybody knows for sure, please inform me) the mark on this crock was used during the 1930s. The crown is in blue and under the clear glaze; meaning it cannot be scrubbed or scraped off. The interior of this piece of stoneware shows evidence of being hand turned. There is a large USA debossed into the bottom. This stoneware crock is almost 13 3/4" and the bottom is almost 11 3/4" in diameter. This crock has 0 cracks, however it has a chip where the left side of the front ... moremeets the bottom; this chip is less than 1/4 of an inch in diameter and is very shallow. ANTIQUE NELSON McCOY SANITARY STONEWARE CO. CROCK c. 1927
This crock is an early version of stoneware crocks produced by the Nelson McCoy Sanitary Stoneware Crock Company. This is a 4-gallon crock with no chips or cracks noted. It is very nice. While researching this piece I found the following article describing a nearly identical crock at"The clover is one of the earliest known marks of the company. Along with the other markings shown above. The first three markings were typically incised, or cut into the bottom of the clay body, whereas the clover was stamped on with blue ink. This particular blue marking was stamped on. The M stands for McCoy, and the number denotes the size of the crock in gallons. The markings above were used before this shift, and all of this leads me to believe my crock was made between 1927 and 1934. Thanks for checking this out. Posted with

Bottom Marked Minnesota Stoneware Co. Red Wing Crock with Shiny Glaze & Tie Ring
For your consideration is crock with a tie ring. This crock has a capacity of slightly more than one gallon. The tie ring is a groove around the top for a string or twine to hold in place a cloth. That is placed over the top, to shield the contents from whatever is in the atmosphere around it. This crock was manufactured by Minnesota Stoneware Co. This company was founded in Red Wing, Minnesota in 1883; in 1906 it merged with Red Wing Stoneware Co. to form Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. This crock has a shiny brown glaze that is almost black; which I assume was originally intended to be brown, but there was metallic elements in the clay or glaze that melted during a firing, causing the shiny, almost black appearance. The bottom marking, is probably the most distinct I have ever seen. This crock is slightly more than 6 3/4" tall and the ... morebottom is approximately 8" in diameter. This crock has glaze skips. On the rim is one very minor chip. On the bottom edge are nine minor to insignificant chips. On the rim, on the bottom edge and on the bottom are marks made with a marker. Please, carefully examine the pictures, as the pictures are part of the description. Check out my! I combine shipping when practical. This saves the buyer money. C. DILLON & CO. STONEWARE CROCK JAR, ALBANY, NEW YORK, C. 1835
I am selling a stoneware jar marked C. Dillon& Co. Albany(New York) How it got to Nebraska is probably an interesting story. It is about 10" high, about 8 1/2" wide at the widest part, and the opening is about 4 3/4" with the lip extending another 1/2" beyond that. In my research I have determined it was made c. 1835-1840(Dillon started his pottery in 1834 and died in 1842) The only other one I can find is at the Albany Institute of History& Art(they have a website and photographs) It has two chips on the rim and some damage along the bottom(see photos) The handles are perfect. The inside shows some wear but no visible damage. I do not see any other chips, cracks or other damage. Hopefully the photographs show enough detail. If not, please contact me for additional information or photos. I am selling it with free ... moreshipping, and I will ship it Priority Mail and insured. I know it is difficult to buy something like this without actually holding it and looking at it, so please ask for additional photos and information if needed.

ANTIQUE Minnesota Stoneware Co. Red Wing Minn - Brown Glaze - circa 1883-1906
Lone Star Americana presents for your consideration an antique piece of stoneware from the Minnesota Stoneware Co made in Red Wing. MN. The piece is marked(see photo#7) it reads. MINNESOTA STONEWARE CO RED WING MINN" This crock was made by the Minnesota Stoneware Co and was founded in Red Wing. MN in 1883. In 1906 the Minnesota Stoneware Co merged with the Red Wing Stoneware Co to form the Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. This means this crock was made between 1883 and 1906 and is pre-Red Wing; thus. More rare. This crock is the less common 84 ounce(65 gallon) size which means it was used more for seasonal preserves where quantities were fewer. This crock was made for canning and is called a wax sealer meaning it likely never came with a lid as the items inside would have been sealed in wax for longer term storage. Although the lid in the ... morephoto was hand painted and itself is vintage it came decades after. This crock was glazed in the dark brown manganese type glaze which once fired comes out somewhere between a very dark brown and almost black depending on how the light hits this piece. There are a few minor glaze issues(not completely covered) that were from the manufacturing process. There are a few minor flakes on the inside rim of the of the crock as evident in photo#9 that were likely from usage of using a spoon to dig out the homemade goodness that was stored inside this crock. This crock has no cracks or repairs. We have provided photos from every possible angle so you can be assured that the quality of this piece matches this description. Dimensions: 6 3/4" tall by 6 1/8” in diameter at the base and 4” outside diameter at the mouth. We've made an honest attempt to provide an accurate description of this item based on our experience. Knowledge and the research we've done prior to posting this listing. However, if you purchase the item and feel that there was an error in the description as to age or condition, please contact us before leaving feedback and we will cancel the sale and promptly r

There is a chip on the bottom edge, see the 10th picture. There is a crack that starts on one side where the brown turns to tan and runs down to the middle of the bottom.
