You are bidding on an antique. Ceramic, under-glaze transferred cosmetic Jar or"pot lid" as they are known. This little item dates to between 1870-1914. That is the period that we know this design was used by th is compan y of Atkinson's of LONDON. As shown in the pics. The jar displays quite nicely despite an inner flange chip which encroaches slightly to the outer side of the flange(please see pics) some slight burial stain shows on the jar. But not overly so. It has two twisted handles. The bottom is marked either 801 or 301. Can't quite make it out. I believe this is a hand crafted decorative arts piece. No lid. I have had it for about 15 years ... moreand just used it as a decorative. Condition: very good vintage/ used condition. There are some minor flaws; a flake inside bottom of crock/ pot which can be seen in the pictures. A very minor hairline from top edge; approximately 1-1/4" on the side near one of the handles. Does not reach the handle. Very minor in my opinion. There is some crazing common to a piece of this age. There are some areas of relections in the images, including a grayish cast, sorry. Approximate dimensions: 27" around, just below the handles- 23" around the bottom- 6-1/2" deep- 6-1/4" across the opening- 9-1/4" across handle to handle. This bean pot/ crock is a nice heavy weight. It has a very small hole drilled down near the bottom so it could be wired for a lamp if you wanted or the hole could be repaired if you wanted. This is nice with no damage. An Estate Sale acquisition: Ceramic pot with pouring spout and handle. There is a makers mark on the end of the handle. But I'm unable to determine what it says. Measurements: 5 3/4" high. Mouth is approx. 4" across at the inside, and crock at the widest point is approx. 6 1/2" Crock does not have any chips. No visible cracks from use, and is sold as found. Could use a good cleaning. This pot is in excellent condition. The only thing I see wrong is that the rubber ring is dried out and stiff. The pot is brown, has the lid, bail wire and rubber ring. It measures 4" tall(5" tall over all) and 4" diameter. On the bottom it is dated August 29, 1981 and has no other markings. A really nice addition to your collection or nice to even use- I would recommend you replace the rubber ring if you plan to use it. It holds approximately 18 oz. antique ceramic bean pot pickle jar stone crock
This is a really old ceramic crock kind of pot. I don't know much about it other than my wife got this years ago in an old barn in Maine. It is 9 1/2 inches tall and base is 7 inches diameter. The outside is not glazed and just has much"character" The inside is glazed. I am not sure what this was used for. Perhaps making pickles? There is no lid for it and there is a slight chip in the top rim. I can see no maker's mark. Although there is no maker's name on this pot, it still cries out for attention from collectors. This has so much character and eye-appeal. It would look great sitting in the corner or on a shelf filled with dryied flowers or perhaps?

more pictures below description* This large pot is a bit of a mystery. I believe it is oriental or middle eastern. It has a Naga, serpent or dragon on it. It is 16" tall, 17" across top and 11.25" across the bottom. It weighs 37 pounds- it's big& heavy! There are indications that say this might be handmade, like how the glaze does not entirely cover all areas, especially on the outside near the bottom and some other glaze flaws. Also, the brown drip marks present around the outside top. There are many abrasions and marks but still displays well. Fabulous antique ceramic stilton cheese crock. Excellent condition with no chips or cracks or repairs. There are a few glaze pops but mentioning only for accuracy. On the front is embossed: Finest Stilton Cheese on the top and Redgate& Co. London below the applied crest. There are a few cracks in the applied lion and unicorn crest but I believe these were present when the crest was applied to the crock because it looks and feels to me that the glaze is on top of the cracks suggesting that the cracks were present before the crock was glazed. I could be wrong. But I believe I am right. On the back of the crock is embossed: Doulton and Lambeth. It is a good size, measuring 5 1/8 in diameter by 5 1/2 in height.
