There are four small handle type attachments to the bowl. And the lid has an unusual recess in the top, within which is the handle. The bowl measures approximately 5" high with the cover on. And approximately 9 and 7/8" in diameter across the rim. A wonderful gift for a person who appreciates beautiful things… who might very well be you yourself! Marks: On the bottom is the IDG mark within a double oval. I think this mark is still in use today though it looks decidedly more contemporary than the one on this bowl. Offering a nice Antique Blue and White stoneware Salt or Butter Crock with Lid. It has a nice two-tone blue& white color on the crock and lid. With blue only on the inside. This has a raised lid, as is often with a salt box or crock. These came marked both as Salt or Butter; also unmarked, as is this one. We think the condition of the crock is good. But please check the pictures for your own determination. It does have a very fine crack on one side, running from the top, 3 in. down the side, not very noticeable; it has only one chip. Vintage or Antique Almost-White 4-Gallon Crock-Blue "4" in Star and Circle
Offered is this vintage or antique 4-gallon almost-white crock. The crock is marked with a blue"4" inside of a star inside of a circle. It originally had a handle and lid but these are no longer present. The crock measures just over 15" high and is about 9 1/2" wide across the top. It is in very good condition. With no cracks and only a couple of very minor rim chips. There are also a couple of very small areas that look like they were never glazed. As you might imagine this is a very heavy item. Antique Blue White Salt Glaze Stoneware Large Milk Crock Bail Bowl RARE! Minty!
In the years that I have owned this bowl I have never seen another one. The best I can tell from my internet research and consulting the Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware. This is an Apple Blossom on diamond waffle patterned salt glazed stoneware milk crock. It is missing the bail. Aside from that, this piece is near mint. There is a imperfection in one of the bail ears that appears it may have occurred during the firing process because it looks glazed over. No other cracks, no chips. It measures 10" across(or just under 11.5" from bail ear to ear) 5" high and 6" wide across the base. Milk crocks this size in other patterns are in the book. The molding on this is very sharp and crisp. The apple blossom on diamond waffle is shown on other pieces such as butter and salt crocks, however I cannot find this ... morepattern on this bowl anywhere. This is a blue and white salt crock in the Apple Blossom pattern with a lid from the apricot pattern. The base has a diamond background and there are apple blossoms on each side of the"salt" The lid does not look bad with this base but it is not the apple blossom pattern. It is the apricot. This item measures approximately 5 3/4" to the top of the hanger. It is a beautiful piece but it has been loved over the years and well used. The lid has been repaired and has a few chips. The base does have three cracks and hairline cracks that viewable on the backside, lip of the base and the front side of the hanger and inside the base. Please see pictures. As identified in the Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware. This auction is for a common pattern Daisy And Trellis Butter Holder. It measures 6" wide by 4.75 tall. Mint value $125- $175. There are six large daisies on a close trellis background. This is missing a lid and a bail which it held at one time. Bail holes for this mold were not made to go through to the interior. There is one fine hairline crack on the interior of bail hole placement that extends from top down approx 2.75" it is not visible on outside surface. Take a look at this old blue and white slat box- actually came from a relative's kitchen and was really used. You can easliy see that it is not perfect and there is no lid. The major problem is that the back loop for hanging has been broken off for years; there is a 1 1/2cm blimish on the upper rim- otherwise. In good condition. Lovely antique blue and white wall mount salt cellar or crock with lid. 5 and 3/4 inches in diameter and 9 inches to the top of the wall mount. There is a chip on the wall mount and a chip in the lid that is mostly on the under side as shown in pictures. Item is unmarked as most are but is very old. Colors are still vibrant with a glossy glaze. The word"salt" is embossed on the front with sun flower and basket motif. There are two creases on the lid know that occurred during manufacturing. Antique Blue & White Spongeware Spatterware Stoneware Bowl with Bail Handle
This bowl is wonderful. The color is a deep blue and the blue is flowing. There is a small chip on the bottom of the rim and a surface crack on the bottom of the extension where the bail handle is attached. There is also a surface crack that runs the width of the rim and an inch down the bowl. It looks like it was there from firing. It has not gone thru the side of the bowl. You can't even see evidence of it when you look at the top of the rim so it is not deep. On the bottom outside of the bowl is an impression of a star. It is in the pottery itself. This is not a repo.

This is one of the cutest small pieces of blue and white stoneware I have ever owned. At one point I acutally had three of these and this is the last one available for sale. It has been in my collection for over 34 years. It is in very good shape and is sound with no chips. It does have a small hairline up by the top of the handle. It appears to be from a spot in the clay that might have happened during firing of the glaze. Normal age and craze lines in surface. Color is very nice and the detail of the bird is excellent. There is hole on the top of the back for hanging. No lid. The crock is 5 7/8” across and 4” high on the lower side and 5 ¾” high to the top of the hanging side. The embossed fruit with leaves looks to be either cherries or apricots. There are no maker marks that I can find. It’s heavy. Condition: Very good vintage. There is a chip along the top rim. Glaze pops and misses common to this type of pottery. Glaze misses that are worth noting can be seen in pics along bottom blue band. They are still common type and don't detract. Antique Kitchen Bowl Crock Blue & White Salt Glaze Pottery; 1890's
Up for bid is a salt glaze blue and white pottery kitchen bowl. It was made during the 1890's. Most probably in Ohio. The pottery is in extremely good condition with a fleck below the rim.The design has a fruit pattern. It is 5 inches tall and 6 1/4 inches across. The base is 6 1/4 inches across. There is no wire bale but we do have a handle if you want it; ask for it after you win the auction. Please check the photos carefully. I photographed all the around the bowl.

1880s Primitive Stoneware Hanging Salt Crock Box Cellar w Wooden Lid Blue White
Fresh from an upstate New York estate! This primitive hanging salt crock from the late 1800's will add some lovely country charm to your home. The heavy salt glazed blue and white decorated pottery can be hung or displayed on a hutch or counter. It has a hinged wooden lid and a hole in the back of the pottery for mounting on a wall Though over a hundred years old. This crock is in remarkably good shape. It does have the typical mold flaws of early stoneware. In addition, the interior has a dime sized spot where the surface glaze is missing and there is a small chip in the glaze on the front edge. see pics) There is the typical age crazing and hairlines to the glaze but the cobalt decoration is bright and the pottery is structurally sound. The hinged wooden lid is nicely aged over the years but was split in the back and looks to have been ... moreglued- it wiggles a bit but is intact and the lid goes up and down on the hinges. Antique Butter Crock Primitive Blue & White Small Stoneware Pottery 5.75" dia.
This auction is for an Antique. Primitive, Blue& White Stoneware Butter Crock. The bottom half is white, while the top half and inside has a soft blue color. This is 5.75" diameter and 3.75" tall, making it very displayable on a country kitchen counter or step back cupboard shelf. The butter crock was the normal means of buying butter in the early 1900's. And this is one of the more decorative colors. This is near perfect no cracks. And a hardly noticeable flea bite on the top rim(see photo 1 under magnification, about the size of a pencil point) Enjoy this nice butter crock in your country kitchen.
