An original antique 19th century small stoneware jar which is impressed on each side Keller's / Baked Beans. The jar is unusual in that the interior is ... moresalt glazed while the exterior is covered in a Albany type slip glaze which is the reverse of most stoneware items. The jar measures approximately 3 1/8" tall and is approximately 4" in diameter. This item is much older than what is normally encountered in baked bean type pots and is the only specimen of these that I have ever seen. item is completely fresh to the market from a very old collection. The stoneware jar / stoneware pot is free of any restoration.

I estimate it dates from just before or just after 1900.The top is not damaged. The ceramic is partially separated, but remains attached. I see no other issues. The white spots are reflections from the lights above where I took these pictures. However, there are a few white spots on the bottom of the jar where the color was not applied. This little jar measures approximately 1 3/4” high and 3” across.

Old Antique Primitive Canning Crock Jar Stoneware Salt Glaze Crazing
HELLO and thanks for looking at our auction! Today we have an old antique crock that we think may have been a canning crock many years ago. It looks like a date on the bottom but we can't quite make it out but we have taken pictures of it. It has lots of flaws and chips around the top and lots of staining and crazing. There is also a hairline crack in the top and we have tried to show it in the pictures. This old crock measures 6 1/2" tall and 5 1/2" across the bottom and 4 1/4" across the top. The rim is 1/2" thick around the top and it is very heavy. It weighs 3 1/2 pounds. It is missing the bale but the holes for the bale are still intact. It is also missing the lid. This old Crock is still very pretty even with all the chips. Stains and flaws. It has lots of crazing all over the outside and inside, and would look ... moregood with the old primitives collection. ANTIQUE 19THC ENGLISH STONEWARE LUSTRE GLAZED STONEWARE POTTERY CROCK JAR JUG
WHAT A CROCK OF. Gooseberry Preserves. Lemon Curd, or perhaps Clotted Cream, Dear Collectors, this is a genuine 19th c antique English lustre glazed Preserve Stoneware Crock Jar peculiar to those made across the big pond for food preservation of yesteryear in the British Isles. Every respectable farmstead would sport several in the kitchen and buttery/pantry for daily use and storage of preserved foodstuffs well before the days of modern refrigeration made these charming sturdy stoneware vessels outmoded and relegated to collector status. Quite similar to American Albany slip brown glaze. The exterior of crock is covered lavishly in pearl brown lustre wash glaze giving it a soft lustre reflective pearl shine with life that dances off the surface at all angles. It features twin lug handles at upper side to aid gripping crock during cooking ... morewith a decorative stamped incised single beaded ring running around the upper middle kissing lower handle extensions. It has a most gentle chamfered base bevel, then the bottom is simply unglazed stoneware clay patina. A thick well formed rim likely once had a lid no longer present, but no matter, clean sage gray green glazed interior is happy to hold your wooden spoons and kitchen utensils in period style. Overall it has a tall, slight flared upright shape like a fine pail with great dignity and usefulness to industrious housekeeper.remember Mrs. Bridges from Upstairs, Downstairs? Hudson would approve and no doubt Downton Abbey has a few on display as well. It stands 6.25" tall and 5.75" across open top. I would guestimate, holds about a quart liquid capacity overall. It is in sound fine condition with no damage, no chips, no hairlines. nothing beyond the the usual firing scratch in the making or tiny rough clay blob on rim glazed over. I know this is English having travelled to the UK buying fields myself seeing these on offer occasionally, and this lovely example was deacessioned last week from a retired English Dealer in Gettysburg, PA who purchased it

T.F. REPPERT Greensboro PA Antique Stoneware Crock Jar Grey Blue 2 Gallon Plow
T.F. Reppert antique stoneware crock from Greensboro PA. Sadly this one is broken. It was shipped to my father and didn't survive the trip. He is thinning out his collection beginning with the broken ones. This was broken into pieces and glue repaired. I'm sure a professional repair job could be possible. But this feels pretty sturdy as is. It would not hold water but still displays well. It's a beautiful piece of history that can't be replaced and shouldn't just be thrown away because it's broken. So, in it's AS IS state, with this low starting price I would say this would be a great piece to bulk up a growing or new collection, or for shelf display. Low starting price for a piece that would be worth over $200 in mint condition. This is a 2 gallon crock that measures 7.25" across the top, 12" tall, and ... more7.5" across the bottom. It has a blue band at the top and at the bottom. One squiggly line near top. It says T F Reppert, Greensboro PA, features a plow design in the center and has a number 2 with arrows on each side. I've tried to photograph this in as much detail as possible, so please see pics for exact condition. I will bubble wrap, double box, paper shred or peanut this to make it as safe for shipping as possible. Please ask any questions before bidding, Thank you for looking! ANTIQUE OVOID STONEWARE JAR, OPEN HANDLED, COGGLE MARKS, HAND PAINTED
ANTIQUE OVOID STONEWARE JAR. OPEN HANDLED, COGGLE MARKS, HAND PAINTED I am not a stoneware expert so I am just going to tell you what I see. I have had this piece in my personal collection for years and have not been able to identify it. Any experts out there are welcome and encouraged to comment on this piece. This is an interesting ovoid stoneware jar. It has no lid. It holds almost 1 gallon. It has a very nice coggle design under the hand painted design. I think this crock may be from the North East as the design is of a river running into the sea with the waves crashing on to the high cliffs. If it were from the south east you would think it would be less green and lower beach area. But this is only a guess. There are a few condition concerns, two hair lines emanating from the upper rim and some minor paint loss. There are a few glaze ... morepops near the lower rim. Please see pictures CONDITION: GOOD SOME DAMAGE see pictures SIZE: 7.5” X 8” SHIPPING WEIGHT INCLUDING PACKING MATERIALS: 5.5LBS. This is a heavy piece please check shipping calculator so there are no shipping surprises. Payment should be sent within three days of auction end. Antique Albany Slip Stoneware Pottery Jar Crock Wax Sealer Earthenware 1880
For sale is a Antique Albany Slip Stoneware Pottery Jar or Crock. This is an old Wax Sealer sometimes referred to as Earthenware. The jar is 4.75" tall and 4.75" in diameter. The jar is in good antique condition with some edge chipping and a ghost hairline on the base that does not show on the inside. The jar will still hold water. I rarely find these pieces in this size. I have tested it for lead so I would date it to about 1880 to 1900. Glass jars were still quite expensive so stoneware jars were still in use during the late 19th century especially in the South. ANTIQUE STONEWARE JAM JAR CROCKS
Keiller& Son's Dundee Orange Marmalade Crock Jar 1862 This auction is for an antique James Keiller& Son's orange marmalade stoneware crock with cork. James Keiller& Son's Dundee Orange Marmalade, Only Prize Medal for Marmalade, London. 1862 Great Britain Contents 1 lb. Nett. It possibly dates to around 1890. As you can see in the photo t is an errant blob of ink below the word Britain. The crock has overall crazing. Some darkened areas and a crack on the back side near the rim. It measures a bit over 4.5" high and is 3" in diameter. The bottom is imprinted with some writing but other than what appears to be the word patent it appears to be unreadable. ... moreCORK STILL IN IT AND MORE THAN LIKELY MARMALADE

Dating back to the 1770s or thereby. The range of wares made at Portobello, spanning ... moretwo centuries, covered much of the ceramic spectrum.
