I tried to take several photos to show how beautiful this little bowl is but it was easier said than done. It is in excellent condition without any chips or cracks, the rim has slight crimps in a few spots and I do have the original box. Here is a little about Plique-a-jour from Wikipedia: Plique-à-jour(French for"letting in daylight" is a vitreous enamelling technique where the enamel is applied in cells. Similar to cloisonné, but with no backing in the final product, so light can shine through the transparent or translucent enamel. It is in effect a miniature version of stained-glass and is considered very challenging technically: high time consumption(up to 4 months per item) with a high failure rate. The technique is similar to that of cloisonné, but using a temporary backing that after firing is dissolved by acid or rubbed away.A different technique relies solely on surface tension, for smaller areas. We are listing today for your consideration a lovely Antique 19th Century Stoneware Saltglazed Cobalt Blue Design Small Crock. This crock is in Excellent Condition with 2 very minor shallow chips to the upper rim and a very minor split on the inside of the crock. This happened during the making of the crock. The base has some roughness to it. Another issue that happened during the making of this crock. We guarantee 100% you will be more than happy with the excellent condition of this crock. The crock measures 8 5/8" tall x 5 1/4" at the mouth x 5" at the base and weighs approximately 4lb 2oz. The crock has a lovely bordering design of bright cobalt blue leaf design. Up for bid is a vintage pottery crock with the cobalt blue Crown 3 hallmark. The outside is glazed in beige. With a cobalt blue crown. The inside is glazed in a deep brown with rust streaks. USA is marked on the bottom. The crock is a 3 gallon size and measures 11 1/4" tall, 10 3/4" wide. It is in beautiful condition with no chips and only one tiny crack, barely visible in photo 5. Antique 1 Gallon Stoneware Gray Colored Crock With Cobalt Blue Feather Design
Up for bids is a one gallon antique gray colored stoneware crock with a cobalt blue feather pattern as pictured. The crock is probably native to here in southwestern Pennsylvania where many famous potters made their crocks and jugs with this color clay and blue designs in the mid 1800's. The crock stands 10 1/4" high and measures 6 1/4" wide across the top rim and 6 3/4" wide across the bottom. If your looking at the crock from the front where the number one is there is one chip on the top left side. One chip on the bottom edge on the right side and a tight 4" long hairline crack on the back side as seen in the pictures. Otherwise the crock is in very nice solid condition. Being sold as pictured and described so please ask any questions that you may have before you place a bid.

It's unmarked and I believe very old; from the mid to late 1800's(purchased from a local dealer) It has a rough(concave) bisque bottom and some glaze infractions, but is without chips or hairlines. Weight is slightly over 2 pounds, and the crock measures 6-1/4" height with a base diameter of 4-9/16" by 4-1/2" and the ovoid top is 5-1/2" diameter by 4-3/4" diameter. This was found stashed in the box of the attic of our home when we purchased in 1983 from a 92 year old man. The home was built in 1928. Actually their were a dozen bowls! Up for your consideration is a Antique 5 Gallon Crock. This has a Cobalt Blue 5 stamped on it. It measures approximately 12 1/4" tall x 12 3/8" across. The inside of the crock is brown. There is a hairline fracture(it will be shown in a picture) But it does not affect the functionality of the crock. Comes from a pet& smoke free home. I do not see or hear any indication of cracks. A couple of places on the side of the crock where something seems to be stuck on the crock. Not any glaze loss there. Probably was a lid at one time, but no longer there. There is a mark on the side at bottom of crock(below stem of leaf) where appears to have been some staining and loss of the sheen to the glaze. Up for auction is an Antique Stoneware Salt Glaze Decorated Cobalt Blue Stylized Swirly 3 Gallon Crock. Circa: 1880's. The large blue Stylized Swirly 3 decoration is lovely. The decoration is 3" long X 2" wide. This 3 Gallon crock is tan with dark specks in the glaze. Measurements: 10 3/4" tall. 10 1/2" in diameter at the top rim. About 10 1/2" in diameter at the base. 3 Gallon crock. Condition: No chips or hairlines. Nice ring when tapped! Clean inside but there are flakes in the glaze and what feels like sand on parts of the glaze inside. See last 4 pictures. The last two pictures were taken with a flash. The outside has spots of red paint on the side with the extra manufacturing drips of glaze on the handle, shown in picture 7& 8. Applied handles are in very good condition. This is a gorgeous crock to use ... morefor display. The Stylized Swirly 3 decoration is a nice size and has a lovely blue color. Shown in the second picture. There is one very fine hairline crack as highlighted in my uploaded photos, it is approximately 4" long and extends to the base, I cannot see any sign of the crack going through to the inside. Antique Cobalt Blue Salt Glazed Stoneware Crock Bowl-Banded-Wedding Ring-7 1/4" Prev Stop Play Next This is a nice antique cobalt blue salt glazed stoneware banded crock bowl in great condition with no chips or nicks. It has a 2" very thin surface glaze hairline coming off the rim on the inside. Several pitted spots in the clay around the outside of the bowl, which probably originated when the bowl was originally fired, some glaze nicks and some original glaze flaws. The bowl is a bit dingy and the inside is stained and yellowed from age and use, which only adds character to the piece and is the reason I love old pieces like this! Measures approx: 7 1/4" across, 3 1/2" tall and is not marked. Wonderful old crock bowl for the collector! Paypal Texas Residents will pay 6.25% sales tax.
