Vintage or Antique Almost-White 4-Gallon Crock-Blue "4" in Star and Circle
Offered is this vintage or antique 4-gallon almost-white crock. The crock is marked with a blue"4" inside of a star inside of a circle. It originally had a handle and lid but these are no longer present. The crock measures just over 15" high and is about 9 1/2" wide across the top. It is in very good condition. With no cracks and only a couple of very minor rim chips. There are also a couple of very small areas that look like they were never glazed. As you might imagine this is a very heavy item. Antique Blue White Salt Glaze Stoneware Large Milk Crock Bail Bowl RARE! Minty!
In the years that I have owned this bowl I have never seen another one. The best I can tell from my internet research and consulting the Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware. This is an Apple Blossom on diamond waffle patterned salt glazed stoneware milk crock. It is missing the bail. Aside from that, this piece is near mint. There is a imperfection in one of the bail ears that appears it may have occurred during the firing process because it looks glazed over. No other cracks, no chips. It measures 10" across(or just under 11.5" from bail ear to ear) 5" high and 6" wide across the base. Milk crocks this size in other patterns are in the book. The molding on this is very sharp and crisp. The apple blossom on diamond waffle is shown on other pieces such as butter and salt crocks, however I cannot find this ... morepattern on this bowl anywhere. Antique Blue White Salt Glaze Stoneware Yellow Ware Daisy Trellis Butter Crock
As identified in the Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware. This auction is for a common pattern Daisy And Trellis Butter Holder. It measures 6" wide by 4.75 tall. Mint value $125- $175. There are six large daisies on a close trellis background. This is missing a lid and a bail which it held at one time. Bail holes for this mold were not made to go through to the interior. There is one fine hairline crack on the interior of bail hole placement that extends from top down approx 2.75" it is not visible on outside surface. The opposite bail hole has an old chip on the ear approx 1/2" long. Please refer to pics as details of description of condition and ask any questions before bidding. Nice looking. Great condition small salt glaze jar. It is approximately 4" tall, 5" across the top rim, 4 1/2" at the base, and about 6" handle to handle. Very solid, great coloring, no cracks, it does have some surface wear and a couple of small flea bite chips. Overall very nice and highly collectible. Antique Milk Bowl/Crock Blue/White Stoneware Bail Handle w/Wooden Grip Outside of Bowl- Raised Double Square Pattern 4 Sunflowers on Sides Top Rim Solid Blue- Bottom Blue/White Blue Mark on Inside- Cannot Read 6" High 11" Top Diameter(12" Bail Lip to Bail Lip) This is a very interesting and very nice antique Milk Bowl with Bail Handle. The material is stoneware with a blue and white glaze(may be a salt glaze) The bail handle has a black wooden grip. The bottom has an impressed Star with 3 outer rings of a raised block look. The top ri. Is a solid blue and has a nice design on the bottom edge. The maker is unknown but the blue marks on the inside near the top were probably their marks. There are a couple chips on the top edge but they have been there awhile as they are very smooth and the one seems to have some ... moreglaze in it also. The biggest flaw is a crack in the bottom of the bowl going about 1/4 of the way around the bottom. This crack can also be seen on the outside(in pic) This is a great old piece of history and would have great visual appeal for a collection. ANTIQUE BLUE AND WHITE WALL MOUNT SALT CELLAR OR CROCK
Lovely antique blue and white wall mount salt cellar or crock with lid. 5 and 3/4 inches in diameter and 9 inches to the top of the wall mount. There is a chip on the wall mount and a chip in the lid that is mostly on the under side as shown in pictures. Item is unmarked as most are but is very old. Colors are still vibrant with a glossy glaze. The word"salt" is embossed on the front with sun flower and basket motif. There are two creases on the lid know that occurred during manufacturing. Antique Blue & White Spongeware Spatterware Stoneware Bowl with Bail Handle
This bowl is wonderful. The color is a deep blue and the blue is flowing. There is a small chip on the bottom of the rim and a surface crack on the bottom of the extension where the bail handle is attached. There is also a surface crack that runs the width of the rim and an inch down the bowl. It looks like it was there from firing. It has not gone thru the side of the bowl. You can't even see evidence of it when you look at the top of the rim so it is not deep. On the bottom outside of the bowl is an impression of a star. It is in the pottery itself. This is not a repo.

There is hole on the top of the back for hanging. No lid. The crock is 5 7/8” across and 4” high on the lower side and 5 ¾” high to the top of the hanging side. The embossed fruit with leaves looks to be either cherries or apricots. There are no maker marks that I can find. It’s heavy. Condition: Very good vintage. There is a chip along the top rim. Glaze pops and misses common to this type of pottery. Glaze misses that are worth noting can be seen in pics along bottom blue band. They are still common type and don't detract. This auction is for an Antique. Primitive, Blue& White Stoneware Butter Crock. The bottom half is white, while the top half and inside has a soft blue color. This is 5.75" diameter and 3.75" tall, making it very displayable on a country kitchen counter or step back cupboard shelf. The butter crock was the normal means of buying butter in the early 1900's. A building and perhaps a windmill- the design is quite small. In very good condition for its age! Shallow fleabites along the rims. There is a rough glaze flaw inside the bowl. Has 2 small hairline cracks, 1 in bottom of crock measures 1 1/4" does not go all through to bottom, the other at top rim measures about 1/2" there are indentions that seem to be the way it was molded. They don't seem to be fresh cracks or chips. This is very old& rare.

ANTIQUE BUTTER CROCK WITH BLUE STENCILING AND RELIEF COWS This is a wonderful old antique stoneware butter crock with a wooden handle. The piece has blue paint over gray stoneware and has milk cows in low relief alongside the word. Butter, which appears on each side. The crock is 7-1/8" in diameter and 5" tall. The inside of the lid has some loss of glaze and crazing. The exterior of the lid also has crazing. There is a hairline to the base that seems to start near the base ring and extend up the side of the piece about 2" or so. All this is common for pieces of this age and type. Large and heavy antique brown and white stoneware crock. Measures 13" tall and 12" wide and stamped with a blue crown symbol"5" which I believe means it is a 5 gallon crock. I believe it was made by Ransbottom but that is just an educated guess. It is in very nice condition except for a small chip on the top of the rim(see photos) There are no cracks or repairs, however there is a crack in the glaze inside the bottom which appears to have happened during the firing process, presumably from the glaze being applied too heavily.it is not a crack in the pottery itself. This is a big heavy crock and is already double boxed and packaged with great care. Many people like to use these as planters and this would be perfect for a larger plant. The crock is signed on the bottom: Burley-Winter Pot'y Co. Crooksville. Ohio. The pattern on the diffused blue and white crock may be what is called Reverse Pyramids& Columns. This is an uncommon pattern that is rare to find. The crock is 5 3/4" across the top(bowl walls are about 3/8” thick) and about 3 3/4" high. It weighs over 2 pounds and to the very top of the crock it holds 32 liquid ounces or about 2 pounds of butter. This antique Burley-Winter stoneware crock is in very good condition. All salt glazed utilitarian ware from this period was made in massive quantities. Without regard to perfection. Pieces have manufacture dings, blisters, ... morecrazing and uneven edges under the glaze. This in no way detracts from the value. This butter crock is perfect on the inside but it has some manufacture flaws and 3 small dings on the outside. On the lower-base edge there is a 3/4" chip. On opposite sides of the upper band there is a decorative circle with a dimple in the center but no holes for a bail handle. Please check all the photos before bidding. Antique Spongeware Low Bowl Up for auction is an excellent antique spongeware small serving or porridge bowl. It measures 5-1/2" across the rim and 5-7/8" across the widest part of the body. It is glazed inside and out and painted with four blue bands. The widest band. At the center of the belly, decorates an embossed pattern of elongated diamonds. The bottom is unglazed and shows a center mold seam. Condition: There is a glaze flaw near the base as seen. This charming antique bowl is in otherwise excellent antique conditon. The jug has an intricate and unusual bird design on the front in cobalt blue. Above the design is"3 White's Utica" in matching cobalt blue lettering. The jug has a natural grey coloration and is finished with a smooth glaze. A small handle is on the side of the crock for easy carrying. Dates to the 1860s-70s. This nice stoneware jug would make a great addition to any stoneware or antique jug collection! There is surface chipping in the design and another surface chip is to the left of the design. A smaller surface chip is to the right of the design. Hairline spider cracks are in the bottom edge. Side and near the top. Deepest cracks are near the bottom, next ... moreto the design. A faint surface crack is in the side of the rim of the top opening. Permanent marker markings are on the bottom and felt stoppers were added to the bottom of the crock at one point. Antique blue and white stoneware Eagle and Shield storage Jar Or Crock
Antique blue and white stoneware strong jar with the desired eagle and shield impressed on the front and back. Condition can be seen in the photos. An old chip on the lid. It's length is about 1 inch. The jar itself has an old 1/8 to 1/4 inch ding that can be seen above and to the left of the eagle. Otherwise a good jar. No hairline cracks in the jar or lid.
