Hello& Welcome, Here's a fantastic old stoneware crock that's still in great condition. It holds one gallon filled to its brim and measures approximately 9 3/4" high. 6 1/4" wide at the bottom& 5 1/2" wide at the top. The opening is 4" wide and it has a tapered neck. The glazing on this crock is in beautiful condition, inside and out. The crock has no markings on it but I suspect it was made locally as S.E. Ohio was/is well known for its good clay soils for producing pottery, ceramics& glass. Within one half hour of where I live is where the homes of such companies as Roseville Pottery, Hull Pottery, Hall Pottery, Anchor-Hocking Glass, Hocking Glass, Fenton, McCoy Pottery, etc. were located. This old crock, though it is missing its lid(like many) is in very, very good condition with no cracks, nicks, ... moreetc. and would make a great addition to any collection. 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Crock 5" tall by 7" diameter SMALL FRACTURE,ADDS CHARACTER!
This auction is for a vintage 1/2 gallon stoneware crock. This measures right at 5" tall and has a diameter right at 7"across. This has a fracture in the that start part way down the side and continues half way across the bottom. This is a fracture not a break. I am not sure what the crock was used for, I have cleaned it up, you may want to do more. Most crocks will have a fracture and some blemishes, to me it adds character to these pieces. SIDE STAMPED & BOTTOM SIGNED 1 GALLON RUCKEL'S STONEWARE CROCK WHITE HALL ILL.
Here is a white glaze one gallon stoneware crock. It is side stamped in cobalt blue RUCKEL'S STONEWARE. It is also bottom marked RUCKELS STONEWARE WHITE HALL ILLINOIS. It is in excellent condition. There is only one glaze pop located to the right of the side stamp(see photo) There are no chips or cracks. It does have light crazing appropriate for its age and it is very clean. The smaller gallon sizes are harder to find because they were used more often and thus more breakage occured. Nice specimen. In my opinion. I would rate this one 8 or 9 on a scale of 10. Antique 1 Gallon Stoneware Gray Colored Crock With Cobalt Blue Feather Design
Up for bids is a one gallon antique gray colored stoneware crock with a cobalt blue feather pattern as pictured. The crock is probably native to here in southwestern Pennsylvania where many famous potters made their crocks and jugs with this color clay and blue designs in the mid 1800's. The crock stands 10 1/4" high and measures 6 1/4" wide across the top rim and 6 3/4" wide across the bottom. If your looking at the crock from the front where the number one is there is one chip on the top left side. One chip on the bottom edge on the right side and a tight 4" long hairline crack on the back side as seen in the pictures. Otherwise the crock is in very nice solid condition. Being sold as pictured and described so please ask any questions that you may have before you place a bid.

Antique 19th C Stoneware Cobalt Flower Decorated 1 gallon Crock Jar 11 1/4"
We are listing today for your consideration a lovely Antique 19th Century Stoneware Saltglazed Cobalt Blue Flower Design 1 gallon Crock. This crock has a unique repair to it. Being a hand wrought iron strip with rivet that has been fastened around the base to stabilize an old hairline crack. This crack starts at the center of the base and goes up to the bottom leaf of the 1 flower design. This strip is 100% stable, it does not move, the crock is 100% structually sound it rings true. There is 1 very small chip at the rim of the base that is behind the iron strip. There are no other chips, cracks, and or repairs. The crock measures 11 1/4" tall x 4 3/4" at the mouth x 5 3/4" at the base and weighs approximately 6lb 2oz. The crock has a lovely cobalt blue design of 3 flowers. 2 of the flowers are the same with a open bloom pointing ... moreupwards. The other flower design is of a open bloom drooping with more leaves than the other 2. There are 2 incised lines around the should of the crock. A great crock dating from the mid to late 1800's that we believe to be a Pennsylvania crock that would make a great addition to anyone's collection. If you have any questions please email. Vintage Stoneware Brown Beige Tan White Glazed Crock approx. 1 gallon
Up for auction is a vintage stoneware crock. This is a two-toned crock with a brown and cream finish with a beige stripe through the middle. No chips or cracks on this one other than original surface imperfections from the glazing process. Piece has great character and a nice patina on it. It is around a one gallon container with 8" height and around a 6" diameter. Shipping: I do not try to make money on shipping costs on my auctions. Vintage Shaby Chic 1 Gallon Crock - Has A Couple of Hairline Cracks
Welcome! Up for consideration today is a Vintage 1 Gallon Crock that has some damage. This crock was a basement find as I have been slowly going through my childhood home and clearing items from various places where it has accumulated over the years. This crock along with another one I recently listed were both sitting in the dark in a long forgotten corner- I have cleaned them up and having no use for them(I have my own crocks) I am putting them up. This crock has two hairline cracks that start at the rim and some minor chipping at the bottom- I do not know if this crock would hold liquids as I have not tried it other than to wash it out. Another interesting and unique feature of this crock is the appearance of the glaze on the outside- I would almost hazard to say that it is crazing that occurred when the glaze was put on the crock however ... moremany years ago it was made- What is unique about the crazing is it makes the crock look like it is"shabby chic" Yet it is still very much primitive looking. Measurements of the crock are: Approximately 7 inches tall and almost 8 inches in diameter across the top. This auction is for a very rare 1 1/2 gallon salt glaize crock that has many production defects and a very unusual size making this crock a great addition to any collection. The crock displays very nicely. Then you look at it with a close examining eye you start to notice the manufactoring errors. The top or mouth measures 7 1/2" across on direction and 8" across in the opposite E-W N-S. The pattern lines around the top are not complete all the way around the crock. Apparently this marking is rare. According to the reference below, the marking has been seen on only one jug. Perhaps this is the jug? Ronald Getty Ester Klaiman Glenbow Museum. G.3.4(Symonds 38) 1930- As this stamp has been seen only on one jug. Its date is not certain. However, it is similar in design to other stamps dating to the 1930s.

This auction is for an antique 1 gallon stoneware crock jar with original lid and cup. The crock is in great condition. No cracks or breaks. It has a couple little chips along the top edge. But could be mold chips. They look like they've been there for awhile. The lid does have some rust damage, and has a couple spots where it's gone though(pictured) The cup has some rust and has one 1/2" crack(pictured) Measures 10" tall with the cup on it, and 7" wide. Offered here without reserve is this one gallon saltglaze stoneware crock by Hamilton of Greensboro Pa. She measures 10" high. There is some crazing of the glaze to the backside(see picture 4) But more critically there's a spider to the base(see pictures 5& 6) Its a pretty tight spider, however, since the crock still rings like a bell when tapped. Again, though there is no reserve but buyer pays $16 for domestic USPS shipping.

The crock still has a good ring to it and the lines are hardly noticeable. The is a little chip about the size of a fingernail also on the base. This is ALL that is wrong with this pot. Mini Whiskey Advertising Jug 1/2 Gallon New York Liqour House Crock Stoneware
This is one of the neatest Liqour advertising jugs we've put up for sale. It actually has an old four digit phone# on it. And that is very rare. At 8" tall x 5 3/4" this isn't exactly a mini jug, but it is a very nice collectible 1/2 gallon size. The Denver phone service started in 1879. After some research we found that both the Telephone Exchange and The New York Liquor House were on Larimer st. The jug says: The New York Liquor House 2311-13 Larimer Street Telephone 1910- Denver. Colo. The jug is in pretty good shape. No cracks. There is one chip on the upper shoulder. And three chips at the bottom of the jug. All shown in pictures. There are also the usual hand made manufacturing defects that are under the original glaze, blurred and faded stamp, color spots, glaze skips, crazing, debris under glaze, and thats OK because ... morethey show the real age of the jug. This jug comes from a time when the old west days and the Victorian days were mixing together. And they had a telephone. WoW! How cool would it be to call over for a bottle of wine and a guy on a horse delivers it. At the same time when a lot of America didn't even have electricity. Investors this is the real deal. This jug is a collector cross over of several different types. From the wiskey advertising jug, of the old west, to the high tech telephone. Don't miss out. Two years later(in 1878) Frederick O. Vaille obtained rights from Bell Telephone of Boston to develop telephone service in the new Rocky Mountain state. The next year, Denver’s first telephone exchange opened at 1514 Larimer Street above Frick's Shoe Store on the south side of Larimer Street. It housed the 17th telephone exchange in the nation. The office belonged to the Colorado Telephone Company. Three rooms contained a business office, battery room and the central office where boy telephone operators connected the local subscribers' calls. At the time, there were 162 subscribers. It measures 7" tall with a diameter of 7" at the top and 5-1/4" at the bottom. It features: a nice variable gray salt glaze on the exterior Albany glaze on the interior a 1/2' extended deep rim potter's finger grooves visible inside incised decoration just below the rim The crock is in very good condition with no cracks. NICE ANTIQUE 1/2 GALLON STONEWARE CROCK WITH WIDE RIM unknown maker
For sale is a nice antique salt glaze 1/2 gallon stoneware crock. The only damage that I could find was a small chip at the top of the rim that measures a little less than 1/4 inch in length and is less than a millimeter deep. The crock has an unusual large rim that measures 1 and 1/4 inches in width. It stands roughly 6 and 1/2 inches tall and measures 4 and 3/4 inches in diameter on the inside of the rim. There is a small area that did not get glazed on the back side of the crock. There is also a spot that looks like some one pushed in two fingers before the crock was fired.
