This stoneware crock came from an auction in Vermont. Unfortunately the lid goes not match the crock. The crock has a nice brown color. There are no cracks. Some light chipping on the top rim, please see all pictures. It measures 7 3/8" tall and 5 1/2" in diameter across the bottom. It holds 8 cups of liquid when full. Nice piece. The inside unglazed rings are slightly different measurements of 6 1/4 inches on one side and 6 1/2 inches on the other side(perhaps to universally fit different crocks) This is an an oldie. But goodie if you need it for your old crock. There are a few extremely hard to see shallow fleabites on the edges, yet they can be felt. No cracks, but I can detect some very, very fine crazing if the light shines on it just right. Vintage Lot of 8 Cheese/Butter Crocks 5 of them are brown. 1 is a tan/beige color and the other is a light orange color The small tan/beige color is a Watkins crock. It is about 3"diameter x 3"H. The orange color crock is the same size. Both of these have the seal/ring. The metal wire snap top on the orange crock is rusted a little. The 3 medium sized crocks are about 3 1/4"diameter x 4 1/4"H. One has a rubber ring/seal. The other two do not. One of them also has a House of Cheese Sticker on the front which is partially worn off. The metal snap top wire on top has some of the silver color worn off. The 3 largest crocks are 4"diameter x 4 1/4"H. Two of them have the rubber ring/seal. The other crock does not. One of these is marked China on the bottom. There is a number on the bottom of another. The one without ... morethe seal seems to have a small chip. But it is cover with the same color brown as is the crock, so it may have been a manufacturer's flaw. This same crock also has a chip of paint missing on the side. They are all in very good condition. With the exception of some minor flaws. This small vintage light beige crock stands about 7 1/8” high and is approx. 4” in diameter across the base. It originally had a top and handle– the holes are visible where the wire handle attached. The holes do not go all the way through the side. The piece is in very good condition. With no chips or cracks. There is some light crazing of the glazed surface. VINTAGE LARGE BLUE CROWN 8 GALLON CERAMIC STONEWARE PICKLING CROCK Crock measures approx. 16" H x 13.5" in diameter and has a blue crown stamped on the front with an 8(USA) No lid. Minimal cosmetic wear. Overall in fantastic shape with no cracks or breakage. This crock was well cared for as you can see from the pictures. The inside shines beautifully. I took a close-up picture of the pin pricks in the glazing. This is the spot that has the most of them but they are all over the crock and probably a standard thing with crocks this old but I wanted to point it out so there were no surprises. Doesn't take away from the cosmetic look of the crock at all. Well there you have it. Shipping charges are included and I will professionally package this so it arrives to your door undamaged. For auction I have an antique brown Crock lid. The lid is almost perfect condition with no cracks but one small chip. Only on the inside. You may see other imperfections but there from the factory. I dont know what pottery company made this lid because I can't find any markings. Possibly a red wing, fort dodge or western. As far as what size it fits i cant tell you for sure im guessing 6 8 10 or 12gal. Best thing to do is measure your crock then look at where I have my tape measure laid out on the lid and see if you get a close match. Long as its close it will most likely work for you. Looks like a manufacturers bubble defect, as it was also on a previously sold one. This piece looks fantastic and is a wonderful addition to any collection! VINTAGE STONEWARE CROCK LID The lid only. This piece has a high glaze with raised knob. Both the knob and the outer edge have a ruffled pie edging treatment. The interior is relatively flat with the extended white section which has depth. Width of the lid is 8 inches and 7-1/2 inches wide if measured on the inside. On the interior. The outer lip to the white interior raised section is 1/2 inches and the slightly concave interior is about 5-3/4 inches, leaving approximately 1/4 inch to the white edge on the interior. Vintage Stoneware Wax Sealer With American Eagle 8 1/4" Tall
You are bidding on a vintage wax sealer stoneware crock. Stands 8 1/4" inches tall. Decorated on the front with a large eagle with a shield on its chest holding an olive branch in one talon and arrows in the other. Also holding a banner with the word Star from its beak, all in blue. Nice original condition with a crack that runs from the top down the side to the left of the eagle. I don't see any other chips, cracks, other damage or repairs. Vintage Estate 8 Gallon Crock with Lid w/ A #8 On Brown Top Blue Markings
Here is a really neat crock that came from an estate sale. It has blue markings on the front which I cannot make out. The lid is the neat part. It has a neat# 8 On top of the brown lid. There is damage under the lid. But not on top. It does have a long crack down the side, I have taken pictures of this. I don't know if it can be used, but it would make one heck of a decorative piece. It is 15 1/2 inches tall and 14 1/2 across the lid. It weighs about 15.6 pounds. CROCK- 8 Early 1900s Western Stoneware 8 Gallon Crock The Western Stoneware company produced this crock and others between 1906 and 1930 in Monmouth. Illinois. The crocks were used for butter, lard, rising bread dough, and other culinary uses. Measurements: 17" tall, between 13 and 14" wide depending on where you measure due to the hand thrown clay. Character Marks: This crock is old and has definitely been used. There are pock marks and a chip on the handle that truely attest to this workhorse. The chip is on the rear of the handle and it barely noticeable when you look at the crock from the front. The blue imprints of the number 8. The leaf, and the Western Stoneware company logo are vivid and lovely. INSIDE GLAZE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. Please see condition as pictured.
