ODDITY Upside Down oval - Vintage Red Wing Union Stoneware 2 two Gallon Crock
Here is a Vintage Red Wing Minnesota Union Stoneware Co. 2 Gallon Crock. It is rare because of a factory flaw- the oval was applied upside down! I understand that this occurrence is not unheard of. But it is rare. Here is an opportunity to add a different crock to your collection. The crock is in pretty nice condition. Has some wear and a very minor chip along the bottom rim. Also a little"pit" adjacent to the oval and two scrapes through the wing that looks to me like it left the factory that way. Wing is about 4" long. Photos describe best.

This is a 2 gallon butter churn crock by Marshall Pottery. The crock stands about 12 1/2" high and has a diameter of about 8 1/4" It has two blue stripes up top. The lower of the two is lighter in color. The Front of the crock has"Marshall Pottery Inc. 2 Marshall Texas" primitively lithoed onto it. The condition of this crock is excellent. No chips or cracks, light age crazing. Only flaws are the ones that happen during firing, which are pinholes, pops and the typical glaze imperfections seen on these old crocks. It measures 7" tall with a diameter of 7" at the top and 5-1/4" at the bottom. It features: a nice variable gray salt glaze on the exterior Albany glaze on the interior a 1/2' extended deep rim potter's finger grooves visible inside incised decoration just below the rim The crock is in very good condition with no cracks. The bottom is"unglazed" for traction purpose. Glaze is too slippery like glass. Bare stoneware won't slide. Notice the bottom is very solid. PHOTO 4. Here we see the inner covering of dark brown glaze. Easy to clean for re-use and it seals in the contents. Not like Gramma's china. But it works perfectly.

Antique Vintage 5 Gallon Crock Stoneware 2 Tone Labeled G Fox & Co Glazed Brown
This 5 gallon two-toned crock came from an auction in Vermont. It has a label from the G. Fox& Co. Hartford, Conn, see the 5th picture, on the side. It must have been delivered by the G. Fox& Co. I found out the G stands for Gerson who owned this large department store. It said that they made deliveries by wheelbarrow. The crock measures 13" high and 11 3/8" in diameter. There is a chip on the bottom edge, see the 10th picture. There is a crack that starts on one side where the brown turns to tan and runs down to the middle of the bottom. There are 3 indentations on the bottom edge that must have been made during the manufacturing process because they are glazed over. There are some drips marks, see the 2nd picture. There are also residue marks on the inside.

This is a wonderful turn of the century lidded pickle crock/jar. It is in good condition for its age and original lid. There is wear around the bottom when it sat in moisture most likely an older cellar. The lid does have several chips. However, none that prevents the lid from sealing the top of the jar. It is from the southern Virginia Region and was purchased from the estate of a home from the mid 1800s. It was used in their family and was sold to settle the estate of the owner. Antique/Vintage Coates Cider (United Kingdom) Salt Glazed Pottery 2 Gallon Crock
This is a really interesting 2 gallon English stoneware domed top cider jug with its original spigot from the famous Redvers Coate processing mill ca. 1940s. Here is the history of the company: Coates comes up from Somerset. Where the cider apples grow. Its more than 75 years since the famous Coates cider was first made in the village of Nailsea near Bristol- and a quarter of a century since of a century since production ended. For people living outside the West Country Coates cider meant cartoon yokels announcing in rich Wurzel accents that Coates comes up from Zummerset, where the zider apples grow in a TV commercial. It was an inspired marketing move, especially as the jingle was based on the popular We Come Up from Somerset by the great Portishead songwriter Fred Wetherley Coates did indeed come up from Somerset and it was Redvers Coate, ... morethe company founder who did as much as anyone to move Somerset cider from the fields and into the cities. By the end of the Great War, cider was in decline. In 1887, Parliament had banned the traditional practice of paying farmworkers in cider( two quarts a day) and the growth in French wine drinking was hitting sales hard. Coate, a graduate of Bristol University was looking for a job in 1924, a time when Gloucester, Devon and Herefordshire ciders were being nationally marketed but Somerset products were scarcely known outside the county. He knew little about cider making so worked unpaid for a year at the Long Ashton Cider Research Institute before borrowing enough from family, and friends to open a cider works at Nailsea. He was just 23 years of age. The staff comprised Coate, foreman Charlie Higgins from Williams Cider, Backwell; Cooper Sid Summers, cellar man Jack AlIsop, clerk( and later company secretary) Frank Matthews, Bill Baker and a man called Iles. Redvers Coate had installed the most up to date equipment in his one shed, including three glass lined vats holding 10,000 gallons each. VINTAGE 2 GALLON CROCK ADVERTISING C J RICHARDSON'S HARDWARE STORE
I am 76 years old and I was born in West Virginia. This vintage crock was created in 2001 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of C. J. Richardson's Hardware Store in Marlinton. West Virginia. The store is still open and is run by the Great Grandson Terry Richardson and his family in the same building with hardwood floors.

Ransbottom 2 Gallon Beverage Dispenser Vintage Crock with Lid
This is a beautiful. Vintage 2 gallon stoneware beverage server. Cream colored with cobalt blue stripes in great condition. The crock has Ransbottom's crown mark. The crock is heavy, weighing approximately 12 pounds. The spigot is metal in two pieces which screw into each other through the open hole.I'm thinking there must be some kind of water-tight seal that it would need to prevent leaking. The lid obviously goes with the crock, but it is a different color beige, more cream colored than the gray-white of the crock. It measures over 12" high with the lid and about 8" at the widest diameter.

Vintage Primitive 2-Gallon Crock Churn Marshall Pottery Co Marshall TX with Lid
This is an old Crock- is 12" tall. And 8-9" in diameter(8 at lip, curving out to 9" in the body) Solid 1/2 inch thick. Weighs a SOLID 11 lbs. Not original lid and 30" dowel. Nice shine, NO chips on the crock, No chips on the lid. No scuffs, no scratches. Nice Piece! Nice milk drip effect on sides. SEE PHOTOGRAPHS. Holds water. No discoloration. No stains. Nice decorative piece. Sorry about the shipping but the crock is heavy and the dowel is 30" and I have to pack in 1.5 cubic feet of bubble wrap and peanuts. We are not CROCK experts. Large Vintage Stoneware Ceramic 2 Gallon Barrel Crock Nice
This beautiful crock measures approx. 10 3/4" H X 12" wide including handles and Approx 8" round on top. There are no cracks or crazing. There is one small nick on the bottom please see all photos, the nick is very small compared to the tip of pen. It is glazed on the inside and outside and is in very good condition. There are no makers marks on it so I don't know when or where it was made, and I don't know if it was for pickles or Kraut. It does have and indentation for a ladle. There is no lid or ladle. It holds 2 gallons of water. This item will need to be shipped with insurance. This is a very nice crock. Vintage 2 Gallon Crock with Blue Tulip Flowers Stamped on it Unmarked Maker This crock is 7 1/2" in diameter& 7 3/4" tall. There are no chips or cracks on it& it rings when you tump it so there are no hair line crack eigther. I don't know what the flower really is but I called them tulips. OLD VINTAGE ANTIQUE 2 GALLON STONEWARE CROCK PEORIA POTTERY STAMPED
Here is a nice fresh from an old barn OLD VINTAGE ANTIQUE 2 GALLON STONEWARE CROCK PEORIA POTTERY STAMPED. It stands 12 1/2" tall. 9" wide handle to handle and 7 3/4" in diameter at the bottom. The top opening measures 6" in diameter and 4" inside diameter. I am not sure if the lid is actually meant for the crock. The lid itself has chips/hairline and rust. White paint stains on the body. Just need paint cleaning and polishing to show the original beauty of it. In great vintage condition with hairlines and a chip at the bottom due to its age and use over the years. Great old primitive stoneware to display or simply add it to your collection. Thank you!

Vintage 2 Gallon Robinson Crown Crock NR This crock was purchased New in the early 60’s so my Father could marinate chicken the day before he BBQ’D them. It has not been used for over 30 years. It is in excellent shape with no dings or chips or cracks. It is a 2 gallon crock that measures 9 inches tall with a diameter of 9-3/4 inches. It measures 8-3/8 inches deep. The lid is 9-3/4 inches in diameter& 1-1/2 inches deep inside. This item is being sold as represented here. I hope my pictures accurately portray it.
