Antique/Vintage Brown & White Salt Glazed Stoneware Crock/Jar-1 Gallon-FREE SHIP
Hello& Welcome, Here's a fantastic old stoneware crock that's still in great condition. It holds one gallon filled to its brim and measures approximately 9 3/4" high. 6 1/4" wide at the bottom& 5 1/2" wide at the top. The opening is 4" wide and it has a tapered neck. The glazing on this crock is in beautiful condition, inside and out. The crock has no markings on it but I suspect it was made locally as S.E. Ohio was/is well known for its good clay soils for producing pottery, ceramics& glass. Within one half hour of where I live is where the homes of such companies as Roseville Pottery, Hull Pottery, Hall Pottery, Anchor-Hocking Glass, Hocking Glass, Fenton, McCoy Pottery, etc. were located. This old crock, though it is missing its lid(like many) is in very, very good condition with no cracks, nicks, ... moreetc. and would make a great addition to any collection. Up for auction is a vintage stoneware crock. This is a two-toned crock with a brown and cream finish with a beige stripe through the middle. No chips or cracks on this one other than original surface imperfections from the glazing process. Piece has great character and a nice patina on it. Vintage Shaby Chic 1 Gallon Crock - Has A Couple of Hairline Cracks
Welcome! Up for consideration today is a Vintage 1 Gallon Crock that has some damage. This crock was a basement find as I have been slowly going through my childhood home and clearing items from various places where it has accumulated over the years. This crock along with another one I recently listed were both sitting in the dark in a long forgotten corner- I have cleaned them up and having no use for them(I have my own crocks) I am putting them up. This crock has two hairline cracks that start at the rim and some minor chipping at the bottom- I do not know if this crock would hold liquids as I have not tried it other than to wash it out. Another interesting and unique feature of this crock is the appearance of the glaze on the outside- I would almost hazard to say that it is crazing that occurred when the glaze was put on the crock however ... moremany years ago it was made- What is unique about the crazing is it makes the crock look like it is"shabby chic" Yet it is still very much primitive looking. Measurements of the crock are: Approximately 7 inches tall and almost 8 inches in diameter across the top. Please check the photos carefully as I do consider them to be a part of the overall description and they do help to reflect the general overall condition of this crock- I have included photos of the cracks and the bottom of the crock. ANTIQUE 1/2 GALLON SHORT-SIDED SALT GLAZE STONEWARE CROCK This is a nice one half gallon short-sided salt glaze circa 1890 storage crock. Found in eastern Virginia. It measures 7" tall with a diameter of 7" at the top and 5-1/4" at the bottom. It features: a nice variable gray salt glaze on the exterior Albany glaze on the interior a 1/2' extended deep rim potter's finger grooves visible inside incised decoration just below the rim The crock is in very good condition with no cracks. Vintage stonewear crock 1/2 gallon size old pottery jar ceramic canister
Vintage half gallon size stonewear jar in very good condition. This is an old and very beautiful piece. It once had a lid and a wire clasp. But those are long lost. It remains a stunning piece of pottery. Wonderful, rich color. High quality craftsmanship. Nothing cracked or broken. Some shelf wear on the bottom and couple of small chips on the lip and neck. Great condition for a vintage piece like this. When we found it, it was covered in dust but has cleaned up quite nicely! The crock does have 2 hairline vertical cracks. This does not seem to affect it at this time. The jug is a bit lose but cannot be removed from crock. There is an old"L-3" handwritten on the bottom of the crock. Hello I have for sale a 1 gallon salt glazed stoneware crock. Crock is in excellent condition for what I assume to be a 50 to 100 year old piece. It has a dark honey brown color which I really love and is dark brown on the inside. Part of the very top is unglazed as you can see in the picture. Someone has painted it brown and has toll painted a pair of ducks on the side. I am not an expert but the paint could possibly come off with paint remover? This crock came from an auction in Vermont. It is marked 1 1/2. The crock measures 9 1/4" high and about 8 3/4" in diameter at the widest point. It does not have any cracks. It does have two chips on the inside of the rim. There are a couple of small surface chips. See the 8th picture. One ear has rub marks, the other has a small chip.
