Antique Primitive Moonshine Whiskey Stoneware Crock Jug White
Up for bid is an Early. Stoneware Whiskey Crock Jug. The jug measures 11- 1/2 inches tall. And the base is 6-3/4 inches in diameter. Due to age and use there are some imperfections. There is a chip in the top(picture#8) lots of crazing, and some manufacturer imperfections(picture#4 and 5) There are also some cracks at the base of the jug(picture#3) but the cracks do not compromise the integrity of the jug. Antique Stoneware Crock Whiskey Jug, Cream Colored, Moonshine Jug, Vintage. Real
This is an authentic antique stoneware jug which measures approximately 8-1/2 inches tall by 7-1/2 inches in diameter. It has a chip at the neck. See picture, and several small"flaws" on the body, see pictures. There are not any cracks that I can find. There are marks on the jug which might appear in the pictures to be cracks but they are really just marks(possible pencil marks) This jug was found under a really old house in Texas about 70 years ago. It is a heavy piece, nearly 5 pounds. Antique? Alabama Brown Glaze Stoneware Crock Jug Pottery Antique? brown jug with handle. Crock pottery whiskey Measures 8 inches tall. 6-1/2 inches wide; 20" around. There are several"imperfections" in the glaze and surface of the jug. There are some"scratches" which might be a signature which you can see in the 2nd picture, near the bottom, about the middle. The cork is inside the jug; it is falling apart. The cork fell inside the jug when I tried to remove it to see what might be inside. There is chip out of the bottom edge- see picture 11. Next to last picture. Weight is 4 pounds and 1 ounce. Background on this jug- This jug belonged to my stepfather who passed away several years ago. He was born in 1914. He was making and selling moonshine at the age of 10- for a nickel a bottle(if I remember correctly what he ... moretold me) He was plowing a 40-acre field at the age of 11- with a team of mules. I don't know when or where he acquired this jug. It sat on his front porch for years. You can look at the pictures and make your own judgment about the age. He lived in the Sand Mountain area for a while in his youth so he could have gotten it there.

Mini Whiskey Advertising Jug 1/2 Gallon New York Liqour House Crock Stoneware
This is one of the neatest Liqour advertising jugs we've put up for sale. It actually has an old four digit phone# on it. And that is very rare. At 8" tall x 5 3/4" this isn't exactly a mini jug, but it is a very nice collectible 1/2 gallon size. The Denver phone service started in 1879. After some research we found that both the Telephone Exchange and The New York Liquor House were on Larimer st. The jug says: The New York Liquor House 2311-13 Larimer Street Telephone 1910- Denver. Colo. The jug is in pretty good shape. No cracks. There is one chip on the upper shoulder. And three chips at the bottom of the jug. All shown in pictures. There are also the usual hand made manufacturing defects that are under the original glaze, blurred and faded stamp, color spots, glaze skips, crazing, debris under glaze, and thats OK because ... morethey show the real age of the jug. This jug comes from a time when the old west days and the Victorian days were mixing together. And they had a telephone. WoW! How cool would it be to call over for a bottle of wine and a guy on a horse delivers it. At the same time when a lot of America didn't even have electricity. Investors this is the real deal. This jug is a collector cross over of several different types. From the wiskey advertising jug, of the old west, to the high tech telephone. Don't miss out. Two years later(in 1878) Frederick O. Vaille obtained rights from Bell Telephone of Boston to develop telephone service in the new Rocky Mountain state. Up for auction is an antique ceramic moonshine jug/ crock. It's in really good shape considering its age. I unearthed this beauty in the Pokono Mountains about 20 years ago. Here is a nice jug. It is in decent shape. It has a hairline crack through the handle and one at the base. There are also 3 chips at the base and one on the inside spout. There is also some mold imperfections which is expected in all early pottery. This is 11" tall and has a 7" diameter. We have a few other crocks listed and can combine shipping if needed. I think that it was made in the 1890s- give or take. It is marked: I.W. HARPER.NELSON. CO. KENTUCKY WHISKEY.Awarded By The World's Industrial and Cotton Centennial Exposition.1884-5 New Orleans.BOTTLED AT THE DISTILLERY.PURITY GUARANTEED.QUALITY UNSURPASSED. Nice handled jug. I see no markings on the item. It is about 10" tall without the cork. There are a few chips along the bottom edge but nothing that would not be expected for its age. The largest is mostly on the bottom. The upper edge of the white also has some chips as seen. Jug weighs about 6 pounds. There are no cracks or anything that I found that would prohibit it from holding liquids. I see no damage to the upper brown area including the handle and mouth area. Photos should show details. Antique Elverson. Sherwood& Barker Stoneware Jug New Brighton. PA This antique 2 gallon E.S. B stoneware jug was a whiskey crock made in the last quarter of the 1800's/ 19th century. It was one of Elverson. Sherwood& Barker's earlier works that was hand-turned and salt-glazed. It features brushed stencil lettering in cobalt blue. It is 11 in. tall and 8 in. in diameter around the bottom/base. It weighs approximately 7 lbs. 4 oz. It is in excellent condition.

This whiskey jug measures just about 10" tall x 5 3/4" across the bottom. I do not see any writing on it. There are a few flaws.chips.with a few signs of wear. Without any cracks at all that are visible. The top has a dark brown glaze, while the bottom is a tan color with air bubbles throughout.

This old antique Whiskey Jug is a fresh find from a garage in a fine old home near Birmingham. Alabama. It is probably from the Mid to late 1800's and has the character to prove it. I see no cracks on the piece anywhere, but it does have some minor bumps near the base and various staining all on the surface from over a hundred years of sitting in a garage.
