Antique Stoneware Crock Whiskey Jug, Cream Colored, Moonshine Jug, Vintage. Real
This is an authentic antique stoneware jug which measures approximately 8-1/2 inches tall by 7-1/2 inches in diameter. It has a chip at the neck. See picture, and several small"flaws" on the body, see pictures. There are not any cracks that I can find. There are marks on the jug which might appear in the pictures to be cracks but they are really just marks(possible pencil marks) This jug was found under a really old house in Texas about 70 years ago. It is a heavy piece, nearly 5 pounds. Stoneware 3 Gallon Cream Pot B.C. Milburn Alexandria Virginia Pottery 1840s
This is a BC Milburn Cream Pot# 3 dating between 1847-1867 from Alexandria. VA. It is a beautiful piece with cobalt floral decoration, slip and applied tab handles. The trailed flowering plant design bears 2 blossoms. Multiple leaves and a central blooming bud. Reverse decorated with 2 blossoms and multiple leaves, shorter stem. Both slip-trailed flowers extend from handle to handle. This piece is 8" in diameter. Slightly larger in center and 14-1/2" tall. There are some cracks in the bottom(3rd from last picture) And a couple of chips on the bottom(last 2 picture) and a chip on the handle. Beautiful piece though and they are hard to come by! Below is some information about B.C. Milburn for your consideration: B.C. Milburn(Benedict Calvert Milburn was the most prolific stoneware potter to work in Alexandria. In 1822 John Swann at ... moreage 33 hired BC Milburn when he was 17 at the Wilkes Street pottery. John Swann did not last in business through bad debts and was out by 1825. The next time we can place BC Milburn at the Wilkes Street pottery is in 1833 when he leased it from Hugh Smith. In 1841 he purchased the Wilkes Street Pottery from Hugh Smith. The ran the pottery business strong until the approach of the Civil War in 1861. BC Milburn had 3 sons that were also in the pottery trade Joseph. Steven, and William. BC Milburn died in 1867. While at the Wilkes Street Pottery BC Milburn produced wares for merchants Hugh Smith, Hugh Charles Smith, and JP Smith… and it was only after Hugh and Hugh Charles’ death that he let the information out that he had produced wares for rival merchant EJ Miller. This auction is for a beautiful brown stoneware canning crock. It is in great shape with no cracks. It comes with what I believe is the original lid. The date on the lid is marked June 24 1884. It measures 6" tall and 5" wide. The only issue is that the bottom of the lid has a small chip in the bottom side. I almost didn't even notice it. It comes complete with the hanging wire. Stoneware manufacturers of this area of Cortland obtained clay from a reliable supply in South Amboy. New Jersey. The clay, known at that time as fireclay was shipped in boats from Amboy. N.J. to Syracuse, then drawn on wagons to this village. Once made into pots, the wares were shipped in arks through the Tioughnioga River and distributed throughout the country. OLD STONEWARE PINT CROCK You're bidding on an old one pint(2 cups) stoneware crock in Brown and Cream with a wavering Tan stripe of various widths. It measures 3-1/8" tall and has a 4-3/8" diameter. Bottom is unglazed. There is no makers mark. This would make a fine decorative piece in any kitchen or elsewhere! The interior, and exterior of this crock are truly amazing.considering how old this is! It measures approx. 10 3/4" in diameter, and 11 1/4" tall. It is approx. 3/4" thick. There is a number 3 on the outside(blue) as well as U.S.A, which is also on the bottom. The interior is brown, with sort of a black sparkle to it. A nice example of a mid 19th Century stoneware cream pot or crock made by Evan R. Jones of Pittston. PA. It is 8" tall and approx. 8-1/2" wide. It has a nice cobalt blue floral decoration. The condition is nice with some areas of darkness from use. There is a tight hairlinr that extends approx. 2" into the base and approx. 3" up the side. There is a shallow 3/8" wide chip at the rim. It is still in remarkable shape for pushing 150 years old. You may return this within 14 days of receipt if you are not satisfied for any reason. I only find one chip on the bottom of the salt shaker. There are small imperfections in the shakers from the maker. Both need new cork stoppers. I have had these for 59 years. They were in my china cabinet all those years. Very Nice!

Has one small chip on the base but very shallow. Has the obvious crack that has been stabilized with an old piece of wire that appears to have been there for some time. No chips other than the one on the base and the crack appears to have come out of nowhere. It may have come out of the kiln this way. Still very solid and heavy with a great rare decoration. This crock looks very old and has crazing which shows some stains as seen in the photos. There is a crack that can be seen in the photos. The unusual feature is the extended lip of the lid which has two holes across from each other about 3/4 of an inch from the bottom edge. The lid is crazed and stained in the inside of the top. It looks old and is very attractive with the green trim and decorated lid. Do not know the intended use for this crock. The deep rim of the lid with the hole on either side makes me think it was for something specific, Lid is 4 inch3es in diameter. Crock is 3 1/2 inches high and 3 1/2 inches in diameter as well.

I believe the manufacturer was the Monmouth Pottery Co. The crock has the letter"M" the number"2" that appears to be hand decorated in cobalt blue. Crock is well over 100 years old and does not leak. There is some crazing on the lid& signs of normal wear throughout. Overall condition is very good.

This is a vintage Crown Robinson Ransbottom 2 gallon stoneware crock with spigot. It is a tannish cream color with blue stripes. It has a"2" and"USA" in the crown on the front. It reads"USA on the bottom. It measures 13" tall and 7 1/2" in diameter. It's about 8 1/2" wide at widest part. The silver spout is 2 1/4" long. This crock is in very good condition with no cracks or chips! The lid has some marks/bubbles on it that look like they are from the mold. There is some crazing on the inside. Spigot works!
