Unique piece of vintage, primitive, Mexican folk art that feels like a brick material. It depicts three Colima dogs around a central pot or bowl. The clay pottery has a warm burnt umber and terracotta color. It measures approximately 9" wide by 8" tall by 3" mouth diameter at the rim of the bowl. It is in good shape but one of the dogs necks has a visible crack. I personally don't think it affects the wonder of this piece at all. I'm not certain of its age. There are no identifying marks on this piece either. Great find for your Mexican Folk Art collection or southwestern decor. This is a fairly heavy piece so postage will reflect that. The signature of the potter is carved on the bottom. The original wooden box with the signature of the potter is also included. Shino ware is a type of Japanese pottery most identifiable for thick white glazes. Red scorch marks, and texture of small holes. It is one of the Mino styles from the late 16th century. Like other Mino wares. The Shino style is based on older Seto with changes to shape, decoration, and finish. Forms are usually squat and cylindrical. Thick but lightweight. Dishes, bowls, and tea utensils are most common. Pieces can be grey. Red, or white, painted with iron oxide or decorated with glaze. Firings of Shino tend to be of lower temperature for a longer period of time. And then a slow cooling process. About 5.5" across the top, outside edge to outside edge, 3.75" across the inside opening, and 6.75" across the bottom. If you look at the third photo, you can see that it has a shallow chip on the rim. It also has crazing. Shipping is based on 10 pounds, packed weight.

Complete with primitive wood lid and dasher. It's cobalt glaze acorn insignia reads: ACORN WARES | UHL POTTERY CO. HUNGTINBURG, INDIANA. Condition: Very nice! The wood lid and dasher show some age(splits and just age plus it's imperfectly round; the glue to the plunger is old and brittle. A bit loose- but easily re-glued) But the crock itself is in beautiful vintage condition. There are surface imperfections(character and patina) but they all appear to be original to the manufacture of the piece. Or just from age(slight crazing) i.e. no discernable damage or repairs. I couldn't get photos of all imperfections. The two small ones front near bottom ... moreappear from the making of the piece- a small piece of extra clay, and a small smudge nearby. The glaze overall is still nicely glossly; the cobalt gaze is clear and dark; even the black-painted wood handles are in amazing condition. 1986 Signed "Pennsylvania" Blue & White Decorated Pottery Crock- 6 1/4 x 5 1/2"
This crock is signed with a script signature on the bottom that I can't make out but it is dated 1986. Great grey speckled pottery with a single blue band and the top and what looks like a pumpkin( on the front. Also. At the bottom edge there is a symbol of some kind that may mean something. Excellent shape it measures 6 1/4" across the top and is 5 1/2" tall. Great shape with no chips or cracks. A nice antique. Circa 1880's, four gallon New York State stoneware crock marked: Troy, N. Y. Pottery. It measures 15" tall by 10-1/2" diameter. Includes the original lid. Good plus condition: even salt glaze color around, no drip spill stains. The cobalt flower is without bubbles or peel. Crack to body right of flowers that goes partially underneath, two chips to outer rim. The lid has two cracks and a prominent chip. The Albany slip is without mineral deposits.

There is one small round hole on the front of the crock. Which is about 1" in diameter, and one crack on the side which is about 6"s long, and one 3 1/2" crack at the top! None of these are all the way through. The overall size of this crock is: Base: 8 1/2" diameter, Height: 15" tall, 13" Inside Depth, Mouth 8" diameter, 21lb Weight by itself. The imperfections described above are not apparent in the photo's featured. But they are there! The extra weight shown in the shipping is added to verify packing and shipping materials.

Antique Central Pennsylvania? Stoneware Crock Pottery Stone Jar 4 Gallon
Late 1800's salt glazed stoneware crock with cobalt decoration. This crock features cobalt vines as well as several squiggle decorations. There is an impressed 4 gallon capacity mark between the decorations as well as a freehand 4 gallon capacity mark. This crock stands approximately 14.75" in height. Is 9.25" in diameter at the base, and 8.5" in diameter at the rim. This crock has some damage worth noting. There is an approximately 6" crack extending from the rim to the top of the right vining. It appears to have been stabilized with glue. There are 2 large shallow chips to the rim. One above the right ear, and the other slightly behind the right ear. There is a 2.5" in the firing crack next to the one previously described. There is a"y" shaped in the firing crack about 1.5" across between the ... moredecorations. I've described all flaws to the best of my ability, but cannot guarantee or offer refunds on the basis of minor blemishes that may have been overlooked. Antique Redware 19c. Large Crockery Folk Art Pottery 9.4 Pounds Grand Old Patina
For your consideration an uncommon. Large size, 19th century, redware crock. A recent estate purchase. The condition is very good. There are no chips or cracks or old repairs. There are some old scuff marks. Measures about 10-1/4 tall. The top is more of an oval then round and measures about 9-1/2 x 8-7/8 inches. It weighs almost 9-1/2 pounds(9.4) It has a beautiful red brown slip glaze with amazing patina. Possibly from Pennsylvania. Please look at all the pictures and if you have any questions please ask.
