NICE 1 1/2 GALLON FOOD STORAGE JAR MADE BY BYRD POTTERY. TYLER TEXAS. IT IS 8" TALL AND ABOUT 7 1/2" IN DIAMETER. IT HAS A RUST STAIN STREAK THAT SHOULD BE EASILY REMOVED WITH A RUST REMOVER. THERE IS ONE TINY(1" LONG) HAIRLINE CRACK INSIDE ONLY THAT DOES NOT GO ALL THE WAY TO THE EXTERIOR WALL. IT CLEARLY HAS AN" L" SCRATCHED ON THE BOTTOM AND THERE IS A HAND-PRINT FROM LIFTING AFTER IT WAS DECORATED AND BEFORE IT WAS FIRED. Vintage Red Wing Pottery 8 1/2" diameter cottage cheese crock
Up for auction is a very nice old cottage cheese crock. With the name"Fairmont's cottage cheese registered" written on the front. The crock is about 7 inches tall and 8 1/2 inches in diameter. The crock weighs about six pounds. There are no chips or repairs. I believe this crock dates from between 1910 and 1935.

Rockdale was a competitor of Rowe Pottery but Rowe won the market and Rockdale closed down in the late 1990's. This piece is decorated with a beautiful flower design on one side and a heart design on the other side with the words, Ray& Donna October 19. 1996" This piece is stamped, ROCKDALE UNION STONEWARE EDGERTON, WIS. 1996 ALWAYS HANDMADE. As far as I can see there are cracks and surface chips as I have tried to show in the photos. A very hard to find beautiful piece. This piece was unearthed in the Ohio area. ANTIQUE NEW ENGLAND PRIMITIVE LARGE 12.25" DIAMETER& HEAVY 6 1/2 LBS. WHITE STONEWARE POTTERY CROCK LID COVER IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. The antique white stoneware pottery lid cover fits onto an antique crock-it is large and thick and heavy(see pics) and it measures approx. 12.25" across in diameter x approx. 2 1/8" tall. The diameter across of the measurement of the underside part that fits into the crock measures approx. 10" to 10 1/8" across(see pic of underside of lid) The lid is a lovely white-washed slip pottery stoneware with a large knob handle at top(see pics) it is in excellent undamaged condition with no stains or cracks or chips-with the exception of one small air crack on the inside of the top rim which was probably made during the heating/firing process and should not be considered a flaw as it appears ... moreto have been made during the pottery's creation-I have included a pic of this in a close-up for your inspection-please see pic. This antique stoneware lid is heavy and thick and weighs approx. 6 1/2 lbs. Here is a nice small 1 gallon stoneware crock COBALT DECORATED with 6 feathers around the top. Photos 6 and 7 will show you a tight line on the bottom and up the side. The crock still has a good ring to it and the lines are hardly noticeable. The is a little chip about the size of a fingernail also on the base. This is ALL that is wrong with this pot. It measures 8 1/2 inches in height 5 1/4 inches across the top and 5 1/2 inches across the base. VERY NICE CROCK. From VIRGINIA- MARYLAND or PENNSYLVANIA. ANTIQUE ONE GALLON REDWARE CROCK This redware crock was found recently in New Kent County. Virginia. This old crock holds one gallon and measures 8-1/2' tall with a diameter of 7" at the top and 5" at the bottom. The crock features a glazed interior. A 1/2" deep indented and slightly flared rim, and several incised decorations below the rim. Perhaps the best feature of this old crock is that it is in excellent condition with no cracks. All collected in Texas during the past 15 years and all believed to have been made by early Texas potters. Crock is in VG condition with no chips. Cracks or hairlines, just the normal small surface flaws from the firing like bubbles and a small flake here and there and such but I'm being picky here, it's in great condition. Actually if you look close I don't think it was ever used just put away in a dry kitchen cubbard all these years. The crock not including the lid measures 8 3/4" H x 9" W and has"1 1/2" on the side(see 3rd pics) The lid measures 8 3/8" W and has the#1 on it(see 2nd set of pics) It's a neat find and will make an excellent addition to your collection. Up for auction is a very nice crock. Stamped on the bottom THE BUCKEYE POTTERY CO. MACOMB ILL. This crock was actually quite dirty until I washed it with Dawn, I didn't even know it said any of this! There are no markings on the outside that I can see. I measured how much water this crock holds, and actually it can hold 21 cups of water.to the tip top. Inside measurements are a little less that 6.5 inches, and outside lip to lip measures 7.5 inches. The crock measures a little more than 7.5 inches tall. As you can see by the pictures. There are a few cracks. I do not know true age, my research indicated between 1880's and 1930's. Since these are not something that I collect personally, I am just using a lot of info from the web. This crock is signed with a script signature on the bottom that I can't make out but it is dated 1986. Great grey speckled pottery with a single blue band and the top and what looks like a pumpkin( on the front. Also. At the bottom edge there is a symbol of some kind that may mean something. Excellent shape it measures 6 1/4" across the top and is 5 1/2" tall. Great shape with no chips or cracks. Vintage half gallon size two color stoneware jar in very good condition. This is an old and very beautiful piece. It once had a lid and a wire clasp. But those are long lost. It remains a stunning piece of pottery. Wonderful, rich color. High quality craftsmanship. Nothing cracked or broken. Some shelf wear on the bottom and couple of small chips on the lip and neck. A building and perhaps a windmill- the design is quite small. In very good condition for its age! Shallow fleabites along the rims. There is a rough glaze flaw inside the bowl. You are bidding on a 1 gallon straight sided Hawthorn Pottery crock from Hawthorn. PA which measures approximately 7.5 inches tall by 8 inches in diameter. Overall condition is good. Tight 5 inch hairline up the back(see pic) extending about 1.5 inches across the bottom. Crock still rings nicely when flipped with your finger. Three chips. One located on the top rim on backside, one on the bottom edge back side, and a third very small one on the top edge front(see pics) All other small flaws such as glaze pops have been on the crock since fired. Awesome Vintage Stoneware Crock 7 1/8" X 7 3/4" Gallon Pottery Looks to hold about a gallon. Would be great on kitchen counter to hold utensils. Good vintage condition. Has long vertical crack but still sturdy. Mild staining at base on outside. Could use a good cleaning. Came from an estate. Has a couple of old shallow chips on bottom edge. Vintage Antique Stoneware Pottery Wine Whisky Jug Crock 1 Gallon Folk Art
Up for sale fresh out of an old farm estate is a 1 gallon antique wine jug. This jug is in excellent condition for its age and does not have any cracks whatsoever. Antique Stoneware Salt Glaze Pottery Crock 1 1/2 - C.F.WORTHEN, PEABODY, MASS
You are bidding on an Antique Stoneware Salt Glaze Pottery Crock. This crock is marked on the front with"C. F. WORTHEN. PEABODY- MAss, 1 1/2" Underneath the mark is a cobalt blue design. This piece measures approximately 6 1/2" tall and approximately 9 3/4" across the base of the crock. This crock is free of cracks. The chips around the outer edge of the top rim have been repaired, the biggest chip that is repaired is over the C in the marking. You can see this in the photos. There are also two other small chips that have been repaired on the outer rim. Who ever did the repair did a good job. There other very very small chips in the outer edge that have not been repair and you can also see this in the photos. The inner rim also has minor chips you can see in the photos. The discoloring on the bottom of the jug is in the ... moreglaze and I believe was there when the piece was fired. There are no cracks of any kind. I have taken many photos so you can see the condition of the item. This is a beautiful piece even being repaired. The crock before packaging weighs 7 pounds 4 oz. Vintage Western Pottery Company Butter Crock Bowl This stoneware butter crock is marked"Manufactured by Western Pottery Company Denver. Colorado" on the side in blue with two crosses, one on each side of the words The crock is beige grey colored and glazed. It dates between 1900-1940 It measures roughly 6.5" in diameter and 4" deep It is in good condition. No cracks or dings. There are chips in the base of the bowl. Though it has some chips it is still in useable condition and has a great vintage look.
