Antique 9-1/4" White Glazed Crock/Tureen Lid w/Design
Antique 9-1/4" White Glazed Crock/Tureen Lid w/Design 9-1/4" white glazed cover or lid with knob and concentric ring. The inner ones with scalloped edges. Underside has an inner ring that measures 6-7/8" in diameter. Nice simple design. This is not bright white, but an aged white that has gray undertones to me. There are the usual slubs and imperfections from the glazing process, a couple of small darker areas. Nice condition overall. This is probably a bit small to be a crock lid and too fancy a top. I would sooner think that it's a soup tureen lid or something similar. This will ship in a Medium Flat Rate Priority Box. The P&H listed includes mandatory insurance on this breakable just to be safe. Please note, if you've been watching this listing, that I have amended the measurements. ANTIQUE- VINTAGE- Brown Glazed Bean Pot This is a Vintage Bean Pot. Which easily holds a gallon of liquid. There is a stamped mark on the bottom. It has the#4 that is easy to see and what appears to be the letters Qt to it's right. The second picture show a white place where the bail is attached. This is NOT a chip, but a flaw in the application of the glaze. It is 7 1/4 inches tall without the lid. It measures 10 inches across the widest part(including the handle) The body is 8 1/2 inches across without the handle. The lid is 5 inches wide and the knob is 1 1/8 inches across. This is a churn lid marked 3- 4 that fits a 3 or 4 gallon churn made by Red Wing Stoneware of Red Wing Minnesota. Lid measures 7 ¼” diameter. The round opening for the dasher pole is 1 3/16” diameter. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs- there are a few spots where color or glaze is missing and a rough spot next to the dasher pole opening. These imperfections appear to be from manufacturing, not damage amd are not at all significant in an old churn lid like this. This lid is in really good shape. Antique 2 Qt. Crock Bowl with Lid U.S.A. 186/4 from Elmdale Kansas Estate
This came from an estate from Elmdale Kansas. This is a small town that almost doesn't exist anymore. This item was purchased from the estate of the family that owned"Bummies" The last retail establishment that existed in Elmdale& functioned as a General Store/ grocery/ and even had their own version of a drive in for a while. This is an approximately 2 quart capacity, crock bowl with matching lid. It measures as you see it in photot one, 5 1/2" tall from the bottom of the bowl to the top of the lid finial by 7 1/2" in diameter across the top of the bowl and the bowl is 3" deep. It has an incised diamonds& dot pattern with a reeded deisgn around the outside rim of the bowl and on the lid finial and surrounding it. It also has indentions around the lower edge of the rim around the bowl. It is glazed in ... morea tan glaze all over except the bowl rim, under the reeded edge outside on the bowl, the top outside edge of the lid finial and the area around the lid finial on the inside of the lid. It has no chips, cracks, or crazing. It has some stains on the unglazed areas and it has one glaze bubble pop on the top side of the lid. See photo 9. This was literally caused by a bubble in the glaze while it was liquid that popped in the kiln. No other damage. Wonderful early 1800s WEIR#4 1 gallon antique stoneware crock features a patented iron bale and stoneware lid. This heavy stoneware"jar" was used for canned foods. Likely put away on some rural farm, and probably in the root cellar. Romantic notions aside, these jars, full of preserved goods, were essential for survival during the winter months for a 19th century farm family. Glazed in a putty color, this jar's finish crazed so long ago, that it looks like a Raku pottery piece, for a lovely effect. The wire bail is rusty, and there are factory flaws and a couple of"owwies" but nothing serious. The number 154 is impressed into the bottom. The lid reads(as best I can tell) THE WEIR, PAT'D APRIL 18TH 1881, and then more that I cannot make out at all. A great old piece! Pleased to offer this beauty of a crock lid. I am not sure which crock maker produced this. It has a wonderful button handle with decorative embossing on it and ribbed pattern around it. Nice brown glaze center on top and interior. Clay exposed on top appears yellow. Embossed with a"3" 3 Gal) but it would possibly work on a 4 or even 5 gallon crock. I had it on a 5 gal and it covered opening. Just didn't extend to outside edge. Check measurements for your crock. PLEASE NOTE: The brown glaze had a white film on it in places(almost like salt or tainted water got on it) I cleaned and applied Linseed oil(not greasy) which restored it's beauty. In the future it may require a re-treatment of oil or polish. This is a large heavy butter churn with an incised 4(4 gallon? but there are no other markings. Churn stands approx 15" high x 10" wide. And outer rim is 8" inner rim opening 6 1/2" The wooden paddle pole is pretty old, disc area is a little warped, and you can see some splits in the wood but is definately old! This rare Norton& Fenton#4 cobalt decorated crock with applied handles and perfect lid is very unusual because the stamp is upside down! Now the obvious– it has a 1– 2” rim chip– it is clean and looks relatively new so it would be a good candidate for restoration. See the pictures. Otherwise this large storage crock and its lid are in perfect condition– no cracks. Chips, stains, discoloration, or repairs. I collect and sell stoneware and have not seen many(that I can afford! so otherwise flawless. This had to be made between 1842 or 43 and 1845 because that was the time Norton& Fenton were partners and before the pottery burned in 1845. And the partnership was dissolved. This lid is unmarked. As can be seen in the pics it does have a piece missing. Other than that it is very good condition. The lid measures approx. 12 inches from rim to rim. The inside underneath rim measures 9 inches. The missing piece at the widest part is 2 inches and at the smallest is about 3/4 inch. It appears to be a red clay. And is very heavy. Crock is 16" tall. And 10 inches diameter. Solid 1/2 inch thick. Weighs a SOLID 18 lbs. Has original lid and 30" dowel. Nice shine, NO chips on the crock, small chip on the lid. This is a heavy stoneware pottery crock lid. The brown domed lid is 8 1/4 inches across. The raised rim on the inside is 6 3/4 inches across. It has a brown glaze on the outside. The inside is not glazed and has the number 16 marked on it. The lid has a single button handle. No chips. Cracks or crazing.

This Crock Stoneware Lid has 4 deer(as opposed to 3 on most of these lids) and is 8 1/8 inches in total diameter. The fitting lip is 6 13/16 outside diameter. If you have a crock you need this lid for it must be less than 6 13/16 total top inside diameter and not larger than 8 1/8 top outside diameter. Antique Stoneware croc made by the Weir Pat. company in March 1st 1892. April 18th, 1889#4. The advertisement on the side is"Pride, Apple and Strawberry Jam. The add is almost all there and very easy to read. The wire for the handle is there but the latching part is missing. The croc is clean with a hairline crack by the lid but no chips. The croc measures height 6 1/2, mouth opening 3 1/4, 5 1/2. This croc has been in my Grandmothers house and very well taken care of. Very nice condition.

This is a lid(only) for a smaller size antique stoneware crock. Probably one(1) gallon. Measures 4-3/4" inches diameter. It is a very light gray to beige color with some white swirls on the bottom. Round button finial on lid. In very good primitive condition with no chips or cracks. But it does show some wear to the glaze on top of the lid, mainly around the finial and on top of the handle. Antique or vintage stoneware crock lid. Measures approx. 11 1/2 inches across and approx. 9 1/2 inches across on the inner ring. It has the number 4 etched on it. It has a lovely petal design. Similar to a Redwing, but I don't know for sure who the maker is. Please see photos for condition. The lid is generally in good shape. But does have a chip on the bottom and one very light hairline crack. There are some smudges in the glaze that appear to be from the initial firing.

Very Nice Vintage STONEWARE Antique Early 1900's MADE in U.S.A. Pitcher Handle on one side and arched fingertip handle low on the opposite side. This is a Rare Vintage Antique. Very Nice White Salt cured Glaze on container. Condition is very good but with no lid. This was a used. Working crock and does have one chip on its outer lip. I do have the electric motor, lid and paddle that were used with this crock that is currently listed separately.
