An extremely rare triple-handled 4 Gal. Southern Redware"Plantation Jug" Ca.1850. Two loop handles(for pouring) are opposite a single lug handle(for transporting) Features a spectacular Lead and Manganese Glaze with some iridescent Copper accents. This piece is in tremendous shape! There is a stamped or inscribed"4" near the upper loop handle. There are some typical imperfections created at the time of manufacture; no post-production flaws. Up for sale is an Antique whiskey? apple cider Jug/ Crock Jug. It measures 9" tall by 7 1/2" wide by itself. Its 12 1/2" tall with the handle up. This is a great looking jug but it does have a few issues. there is the chip on the lip of the spout, it only shows on the one side you can spin it around for display and it does not show. Also there is a chip on the bottoms edge. the handle has weather wear to it like sun rot, and the wire is rusted but the handle is still working fine. this is a great jug and it has a great look. it needs a big cork for the top and its ready for display. please email with any questions, I have 4 more of these type jugs listed now in my store, thank you.

Antique Beehive Whiskey Stoneware Crock Jug bail wire handle
Up for bid is an Antique. Stoneware Whiskey, Crock, Jug with a bail wire and wood handle. The jug measures 10-1/8" inches tall and the handle adds another 2- 1/2" to the height. The base is 7 inches in diameter. Due to age and use there are some minor imperfections. There are some chips around the edge in the body of the crock(picture 2) and several chips around the bottom edge of the jug, and some crazing. pictures 5& 6) The wire handle is bent and there is some wear to the wood portion. This is a used Off-white Ceramic stoneware Gallon Jug Crock with a bail wood handle. handle and bail are not original. The Gallon jug has a couple very small flea bites or small nics. you can the black marks in photo at top opening. One very small mark on each side of opening. See no cracks or chips in the remaining jug. Bail handle supports in great shape.see no cracks in handle supports) Jug has a tapered top. Off-white jug with light grazing. As found condition. Antique Stoneware E W Farrington Crock Jug with Handle Elmira New York Brown Bird Image 1 Gallon? Note: All items in our store include NO sales tax to our US customers! Here is a great antique stoneware crock/jug for your buying consideration. Recently acquired it at an estate sale. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself. This piece is probably from the later 1800s to early 1900s period. The crock/jug was made by E W Farrington of Elmira NY. The jug has one handle and is most likely of a one gallon size. I do not see or hear(when thump it) any indication of cracks in the jug. A couple of places on the side of the crock where something seems to be stuck on the crock. Not any glaze loss there. There is a chip on the outside lip of the jug opening just above the place where the name of the jug maker is impressed into the jug. Two other ... morechips on the the handle and I can see a hairline crack that runs between the two handle chips. There are some marks on the bottom of the crock where appears to have been some staining and loss of the glaze took place from what sitting on. Various wear and stain marks over the jug surface. There is some sort of chip of the glaze over the"ing" in Farrington as well. The image of the bird is interesting. Not sure if the image was originally on the jug or put on later. I did some brief research online and did not find a Farrington jug with a brown image on it. I certainly saw Farrington bird images. But in cobalt blue. Similar birds image wise online were referred to as whippets, yes a bird not the dog version. There is a fleck of cobalt blue just above the bird's head. The jug is 11" tall. By 6-7/8" across by handle. The jug is 7" across without the handle. The opening is 7/8" across on the inside and 1.75" on the outside. I would guess that this jug is a one gallon size. This heavy. 2-gallon antique salt-glazed"Beehive" shape stoneware jug is a beauty! I'm not sure what was in it originally, but I'd guess hard liquor or moonshine. It has a lovely dark tan-colored salt glaze finish, with a hand-applied handle. The surface has a wonderful patina, and the inside has a dark brown glaze. There are 3 old chips on the mouth, that are old enough to beautifully blend into the color of the salt glaze, a few stray black marks, and no other damage that I can find. Nice handled jug. I see no markings on the item. It is about 10" tall without the cork. There are a few chips along the bottom edge but nothing that would not be expected for its age. The largest is mostly on the bottom. The upper edge of the white also has some chips as seen. Jug weighs about 6 pounds. There are no cracks or anything that I found that would prohibit it from holding liquids. I see no damage to the upper brown area including the handle and mouth area. Photos should show details. Here's another from the pit of yesteryear. This is a 1 qt. salt glazed moonshine jug in excellent condition. The poor little thing has a rust stain on one side. But the other side is as clean as it can be considering how long it was under ground. There no condition situations with it than the brown stain on the left handers side. But I'm working on that. Don't know what was in it in the beginning just wish it still had it. Cause it were probly a goodin with no bubbles to the shake. Antique Whiskey Jug/Crock with Wire Bail & Wooden Handle /1 Gallon Size
This is an antique crock jar/whiskey jug that belonged to my Mom. It looks to be very old. It has a wire bail and wooden handle. It appears to be a gallon size. And is 9 1/2" tall to the top of the crock. As you can see from the photos, there is a chip around the outside edge of the lip, and the wire bail is bent. There are a couple of spots where the glaze did not stick to the pottery. This is an interesting old crock that appears to have a lot of history. PayPal only please. Small 3/8" hole that looks like a collapsed"bubble" after glazing process, along with a 1/2" gouge" at the base of the jar- see all pics. 12 3/4" H x 6/ 3/4" W Mouth 2 1/2" W.
