Vintage 1920's/1930's or earlier crock jar. It measures 7 1/2" tall and 6 1/8" outside diameter at top. The capacity looks like 1- 1 1/4 gallons. It is a heavy thick wall salt glaze glazed stoneware stone ware pottery jug with lid. Metal bale handle and wood wooden black handle grip in excellent condition. The bottom is unglazed. The inside is glazed. The crock displays beautifully and shows no damage at all with the exception of some normal use wear on the unglazed top rim. This is a very well made heavy, thick walled crock. These are two Fantastic Little Old Stoneware Crocks! The wire handled one~ measures approximately 5" tall. 4 3/4" across the bottom, is gray, and glazed inside and out, except for the bottom. It is not marked and does not have a lid. Most of the black paint on the wood handle has worn with age and use. Leaving the natural wood grains showing. There are a few bumps and other various marks under the glaze from manufacturing. There are No chips or cracks but it does have a antique crazing. The Little Lard/Grease Crock~ measures approximately 4" tall. 3 1/2" in diameter, grey on the outside, and has brown, with smears of blue glaze on the inside. It is not marked, and does not have a lid. I'm not sure that it ever had one. It has two chips on the outside. And what looks like a crack on the inside bottom. This is a wonderful piece of primitive crockware. The wood and wire bale handle is sturdy and in very nice vintage condition. The interior is highly glazed in a rich chocolate. The exterior is an unglazed yellow band with a cream/ off white base setting on 4 feet. Approximately 9 5/8" diameter x 5" tall without bale x 9 3/4" tall with bale. As you can see in the photo. There are some small chips on the interior not unusual for a piece of this age. The feet are in very nice condition and the bowl itself is in very nice vintage condition with no chips or cracks. vintage dug up salt glazed 1 qt. moonshine jug with handle
Here's another from the pit of yesteryear. This is a 1 qt. salt glazed moonshine jug in excellent condition. The poor little thing has a rust stain on one side. But the other side is as clean as it can be considering how long it was under ground. There no condition situations with it than the brown stain on the left handers side. But I'm working on that. Don't know what was in it in the beginning just wish it still had it. Cause it were probly a goodin with no bubbles to the shake.
