This auction offers a wonderful antique stoneware crock with a bail wire handle and it's original lid. Overall the crock is in great conditon for it;s age. There are some flaws such as a small chip on the top rim of the crock. And inner rim of the lid. Ware along the top rim of the lid and handle. A small crack on the side of the crock. We have pictured all of these flaws, so please look at the photos before bidding. All and all this antique is in great condition. It is approx. 11" high from the top of the handle to the bottom. The original gasket is present. Tight seal. Well functioning. Circa 1930's to 1940's. But I'm guessing on this, not certain. Heavy. Substantial Piece. 6" High by 4" in Diameter. This is a unique cheese or butter crock. Picture 8 shows a chip in the lid. But it may have been during the manufacturing process. There are also some other imperfections from the making of this piece as you can see in photos. There are two very fine hairline cracks on this crock. Pictures 11 and 12 show these. The one in picture 11 hardly goes through. If at all. And, the one in picture 12 shows about half of the crack going all the way through to the inside. About 5 1/2" Tall to the top of the wire. Antique Vintage Weir Stoneware Brown Canning Crock with Wire closure
This is a Weir Canning Crock with a Patent March 1st 1892 as identified on the lid. It still has the original working wire closure but it is rusty. There are no noted chips or cracks. The inside is clean. With the vintage age there is some crazing on the cream colored area of the crock. I personally took this piece out of my grand mothers old farm house kitchen basement crawl space. It was sitting beside several old crocks and several large bolders(rocks) which were supporting the old house so I know they have been there for years. The house has been in the family for 100 years. Stoneware Five Gallon Red Wing Crock with Four Inch Wing Wood & Wire Handles
For your consideration is a five gallon Red Wing crock. This crock has a four inch wing and an oval that is 2 1/4" wide and almost 1 1/2" tall; the writing in the oval says: RED WING- U NION S TONEWARE C O. RED WING. MINN. This writing indicates this crock was manufactured 1915-1930. The wood and wire handles were patented Dec. 21 st. 1915. The marks on the bottom are a good example of kiln stacking. This crock is approximately 13 1/2" tall and the bottom is approximately 12" in diameter. The paint is wore off from the wood on both handles and on the right handle the wood is chipped. On the backside of the crock. The inner rim is chipped in two places. The edge of the bottom has a chip on the front and another chip on the right side. This is an Antique Cheese Brown Pottery Crock With Wire Bale Hinged Lid in very good condition. It measures 4 1/4" tall to the top of the lid and 3 1/2" across the bottom. There is one very small place on the bottom rim I show in the pictures where the glaze skipped and there are no cracks or chips.There is no rubber seal. The inside of the lid has brown stains on the pottery. The original paper label is very faded but says Cold Pack Cheese Food and a list of the ingredients.there is no rust on the wire Bale Wire. It seal very tight. The bottom of the crock is unmarked and has rings as you can see in the pictures. A very nice piece of brown pottery.

Mrked The German*Rare Find*Very Early Crock Style Bowl w/Wire Handle,Wood Holder
This is a very early stoneware bowl with a wire handle and wooden holder. It is marked on the bottom with a large star and says"The German" It has the blue glaze on the inside. It does have two chips on the rim. Which I attempted to photo. It measures 6" tall 12" across the top and the bottom is 7 1/2" across. It has a nice diamond pattern and it does have discoloration where it looks like it may have sat in some grease. I believe this to be a very early piece and the age and wear to it be age appropriate.
