2 vintage STONEWARE CHEESE BUTTER CROCKS BROWN Wire Bale & Lid + Rubber Gasket
Here are 2 vintage brown glazed butter or cheese crocks The first one the left does not have a lid or bale. But there are factory depressions for the bale to attach. There is a small chip on the bottom edge. It is 3 1/2" tall x 4 1/2" wide. No marks. The one on the right has the lid. Gasket and bale and is in working order. It has few minor glaze flakes on the bottom edge and inside the rim. It is about 5 1/2" tall including the bale x 3 1/2" wide. It is stamped on the bottom in purple-20822 $F139. This is a unique cheese or butter crock. Picture 8 shows a chip in the lid. But it may have been during the manufacturing process. There are also some other imperfections from the making of this piece as you can see in photos. There are two very fine hairline cracks on this crock. Pictures 11 and 12 show these. The one in picture 11 hardly goes through. If at all. And, the one in picture 12 shows about half of the crack going all the way through to the inside. About 5 1/2" Tall to the top of the wire. Vintage Lot of 8 Cheese/Butter Crocks 5 of them are brown. 1 is a tan/beige color and the other is a light orange color The small tan/beige color is a Watkins crock. It is about 3"diameter x 3"H. The orange color crock is the same size. Both of these have the seal/ring. The metal wire snap top on the orange crock is rusted a little. The 3 medium sized crocks are about 3 1/4"diameter x 4 1/4"H. One has a rubber ring/seal. The other two do not. One of them also has a House of Cheese Sticker on the front which is partially worn off. The metal snap top wire on top has some of the silver color worn off. The 3 largest crocks are 4"diameter x 4 1/4"H. Two of them have the rubber ring/seal. The other crock does not. One of these is marked China on the bottom. There is a number on the bottom of another. The one without ... morethe seal seems to have a small chip. But it is cover with the same color brown as is the crock, so it may have been a manufacturer's flaw. This same crock also has a chip of paint missing on the side. They are all in very good condition. With the exception of some minor flaws. Here is a Vintage Butter/ Cheese Crock from the Kaukauna Dairy Company in Kaukauna. Wisconsin. The Crock is in Good used condition with no chips. Cracks, or breaks in/on it. The lid does have some issues with it. It has a couple of what I will call surface cracks as there is no sign of the cracks on the underside of it. It has it’s Wire Bail that is in good working condition! It measures approximately 3 inches tall(that is without including the wire) X 3 inches in diameter. Brown Stoneware Ceramic Cheese Butter Crock Pot Jar
This pot is in excellent condition. The only thing I see wrong is that the rubber ring is dried out and stiff. The pot is brown, has the lid, bail wire and rubber ring. It measures 4" tall(5" tall over all) and 4" diameter. On the bottom it is dated August 29, 1981 and has no other markings. A really nice addition to your collection or nice to even use- I would recommend you replace the rubber ring if you plan to use it. It holds approximately 18 oz. These 2 crocks are from the Kaukauna Dairy Company of Kaukauna. Wisconsin with a 1933 copyright date in blue paint. They are both 6" tall and 4" in diameter, and are in Very Good condition.
