Old Antique Redwing 5 Gallon Stoneware Crock Jug Butter Churn Red Wing
We have this old Redwing butter churn crock to offer in good as found condition. It is marked with the wing and Union Stoneware logo. It has wire handles. No lid and a nice 4" wing. The crock has a flaw on the bottom that looks like it was made this way. Just a hole, small. not a chip. There is a 1" crack that is on the bottom rim that is also a firing crack. Only shallow and not seen inside. This is a good Redwing Churn and is a hard to find piece. It is in good clean condition and is 16 1/2" tall. Ruckel's Stone Ware 2 Gallon Crock Up for your perusal is this antique Ruckel's Stoneware 2 gallon crock. It has a white glaze and stamped in cobalt blue'Ruckel's Stoneware' mark and'2' for 2 gallon size. Established in 1870 in White Hall Illinois. Ruckel's Pottery was popular at the end of the 1800s and into the early part of the 1900s. It is in great condition and very clean. It measures 9.5" tall and 9.5" in diameter. No glaze pops but there are a few chips on the bottom and a crack on the outer top(see pics) Normal wear from use. Age and storage. Found at an estate sale. Rare Gardiner Stoneware Company (Gardiner, ME.) butter churn
Proudly offering for auction a rare Gardiner Stoneware Company(from Gardiner. Maine) butter churn. I have been unable to locate on the internet a similar stoneware item from Gardiner Stoneware Company. The stamp clearly reads Gardiner, ME. What is not clear but can be assumed to read Gardiner Stoneware Co. Stoneware reads as oneware. It is a 4 gallon butter churner. There is a small hole towards the bottom of the crock and as I'm not a butter churner, I'm not quite sure of it's purpose. The lid is wood as is the pole. The pole is warped. There are a few minor chips on one of the handles. My mother used to use another antique butter churn as a vase for long stemmed delphinium. It was a truly gorgeous display. If anyone has more knowledge on this piece, please let me know. Will ship insured.

Complete with primitive wood lid and dasher. It's cobalt glaze acorn insignia reads: ACORN WARES | UHL POTTERY CO. HUNGTINBURG, INDIANA. Condition: Very nice! The wood lid and dasher show some age(splits and just age plus it's imperfectly round; the glue to the plunger is old and brittle. A bit loose- but easily re-glued) But the crock itself is in beautiful vintage condition. Here is an antique stoneware butter churn with a large bird on the front. There is no wood pole. What is included is what you see in the photos. There are chips on the lid- one large one on the top of the brown glaze edge and some shallow flecks, the rest of it uneven areas appear to be under glaze and original to it. Also there is glaze loss on the handle. The churn itself has chips along the rim and some cracks, pretty much all above the level of the top of the ear handles. It has wire handles with red wooden grips. The removable lid has a hole in the center where the butter paddle is inserted and is marked USA and the numbers 5-6. There is a chip and a crack in the lid. There are also some small surface cracks on the barrel and some inner cracking but the integrity of the piece is still solid. This is a large heavy butter churn with an incised 4(4 gallon? but there are no other markings. Churn stands approx 15" high x 10" wide. And outer rim is 8" inner rim opening 6 1/2" The wooden paddle pole is pretty old, disc area is a little warped, and you can see some splits in the wood but is definately old! Storie Pottery Stoneware Butter Churn Vintage Marshall Texas Cobalt Blue Scene
Beautiful Reproduction of an antique Butter Churn/ Crock. I believe it was made in 1990. This makes this beauty almost 25 years old. The hand painted Cobalt Blue country scene on the face of the pot is signed by the artist"DR 90" and in the research I have done on these crocks: DR" is the Artist's initials. And"90" stands for 1990. It is in relatively good shape except for a few small issues. There is a hair line crack that is about six inches long and is located at the top of the crock and travels down the side of it, located just to the left and above the painted scene on the face. The crock does feel very sturdy despite the crack. There is also an imperfection on the inside/ bottom of the cover. I am not sure if it is a chip or just an imperfection that has been there since the birth of this lid. There are ... morevery small imperfections on other places of the crock that are very very normal for any stoneware that is hand made. You can see these clearly in the photos but if you have ANY questions, please contact me and I will get back to you quickly. The height of this Churn is approx 17" Tall with the plunger inside it. The Crock is 12" Tall and 9" Wide. The top Mouth of the Crock is 7" accross and the bottom is 7.5" accross. It weights approx 11 Lbs. Very nice old Crock/ Butter Churn(late 19th century? mad by the C.W. Braun Company in Buffalo NY. Brown glazed interior. Salt Glaze Exterior with fired"raw" clay bottom. Incise Stamped with the number"2" and"C.W. Braun" Buffalo N.Y. There are no cracks whatsoever. There are. However, two chips along interior rim. The bottom looks to be"charred" in areas perhaps from being used on a stove or fire for cooking. Measures 11.25" tall. The top rim is 7.5" in diameter and the bottom measures 8-3/8" in diameter.

Primative Butter Churn Pottery Stoneware 6 gal Catawba Two Style Handle 18'5"
Up for auction is this rare and complete Catawba Valley butter churn in excellent condition. It is the largest size made and few still exist so its quite a fine piece of history. Catawba pottery is famous for the alkaline stoneware made from the river valley of western North Carolina. Has number 6 imbedded below handle and comes with churn lid and wooden dasher. This also tells me with the style and location of the number that it is a Reinhardt piece. Another tell tale sign its a Reinhardt is the ribbing or rings that you can see and feel going around the base of churn. I captured that in the 6th picture on the inside. I couldnt get a good picture of the ribbing on the outside but it is noticable and adds more character. The handles are of two styles. One of a pig ear or lug. The other is a large loop handle. This style of churn handle was ... moredeveloped to make carrying such a large churn easier. The bottom of lid has a one inch chip/crack that was done prior to glaze and firing so its a mfg default. Its the way it was made, not at all noticable(I felt it before I saw it) but please see picture for reference. The small crack/chip is filled with glaze and is nice and smooth. Measures 18.5" tall with lid on. Top rim measures almost 10" across. Bottom measures 10.25" across. The middle is a bit wider than both top and bottom but difficult to get accurate dimention. Handle to handle is 13" I took pictures outdoors. Just want to be sure you get to see accurate pictures and colors. Also the 41" dash has a crack in the bottom portion of the wood handle. Would not be seen when inside churn. Churn alone weighs 26lbs. It will be shipped carefully with foam ect and have listed it at 30lbs for packing/box weight.
