The tin has a hinged lid and once contained biscuits from Scribbans Kemp. It dates to circa 1954. There is generalized patina on the tin for an antique look. The vintage wear and patina includes some small areas of wear. Some small scratches and scuffs, some handling marks and soiling, some small dents and dings, etc. Lid is a little more muted than base and has some noticeable soiling. Noticeable denting on front side and one end of base. Some sticky sticker residue on front side. A few more noticeable scratches here and there. Still fairly small. Much of inside is covered with dark patina. There is rust inside- around the interior crevice. And around the upper edges and around the lid, including at the hinge areas. Several reverse dings and some other normal wear on bottom. Hinges seem attached well enough and they move freely until they hit a kink when the lid is almost closed. So there is some wonkiness to the open/close situation. And a little coaxing is required. Again. Condition issues of note: NOTICEABLE DENTING ON FRONT SIDE OF BASE AND ON ONE END. Lid is more muted and has noticeable soiling. A few more noticeable small scratches here and there. Some sticky sticker residue on front side. Some rust inside– at crevice. Upper edges, around inside lid edge, at hinge area, etc. Some wonkiness to the hinges. Open/close requires some coaxing. Approximate size of tin is about 11.25” by 3.5” by about 4” tall. Vintage R.R.P. CO. Rosville. Ohio U.S.A. Tan stoneware crock.4.5” in diameter and 3.125” high and weighs approx 1 pounds 6 ounces. It is in used condition. There is a rough spot on the bottom inside in the glaze and otherwise. There are no cracks or chips. I have included a full group of pics showing all sides top& bottom. The bottom mark is the R.R.P Co. Roseville. O. U.S.A. in an oval stamp. A bit of history for those interested: R.R.P. Co. Rosville. Ohio U.S.A the beginning: Frank Ransbottom. A successful jobber of stoneware and pottery, decided to started his own company(with his brother) in 1900 to distribute pottery products made locally Ohio. The brothers had been exposed to making pottery by their father, Alfred, who operated the Bluebird Potteries in Ohio. By 1916 the Ransbottom Pottery Company was the largest producer of stoneware ... morejars. Merged in 1920: Wanting to diversify. Ransbottom merged with Robinson Clay Products Co, a producer of tile and bricks. The product lines were expanded and included gardenware. Not Roseville: Many people have confused Robinson-Ransbottom Pottery with Roseville Pottery because they were 1. Located in Roseville. Ohio 2. This auction is for a vintage 1/2 gallon stoneware crock. This measures right at 5" tall and has a diameter right at 7"across. This has a fracture in the that start part way down the side and continues half way across the bottom. This is a fracture not a break. I am not sure what the crock was used for, I have cleaned it up, you may want to do more. Most crocks will have a fracture and some blemishes, to me it adds character to these pieces. This is a nice little crock/ stoneware bean type pot with two handles. On the outside it is blue washed with a floral design It also has blue on the handles This stoneware crock is a hair under 4.5" tall and is 6" across the brim. This crock has a hairline crack across the bottom as shown. But it is not loose. Very primitive looking! This item will be wrapped well and double boxed to assure it's safe arrival.

This is an antique crock from my grandmother's house. I'd originally used it to keep my spoons/wisks/beaters together on the counter-top. But have since remodeled so it no longer fits my decorating scheme in my kitchen. There are a lot of chips/nickson the lip/rim, and it's scuffed and scraped up.but would still be perfectly functional to use to store things in on the counter, or anywhere else. Better yet add it to your crock collection and enjoy it! I*think* this holds 1.5-2 quarts, but am not sure. It measures 5.5" tall and 7.25" across. Because there are no markings. I'm not sure of the manufacturer. The crock measures 5" in height and 6" in width. There are 2 chips at the bottom edge that I've shown in the photos. One chip is 0.75" in length and the other chip is more superficial but is 1" in length. Any other irregularities appear to be just part of the manufacturing process. Here is a Very Unusual. SMALL Size Crock, stamped by the Maker from West Central Missouri. This Crock is nearly a Miniature, Measuring only 5& 1/2 inches tall! The Top measures 4& 1/4 inches across. This Piece Has a Dark Brown, Albany Glaze with a Few lighter spots. The Base has a Wiped or smeared look. It is Stamped in small letters near the bottom rim. JEGGLIN, CALHOUN, MO" The Name is a bit light but can be read with light. I believe the initials, G.A. are there but just too light to see, The town, CALHOUN, MO. is easily read. I have seen several pieces from Jegglin, Jugs, Crocks, Storage Jars, etc. but don't believe I have ever seen one this small. The Jar is in Fine condition, Solid with No Cracks, hairlines, etc. There is a small chip on the reverse base edge, fairly shallow. Another thin flake on base edge, very small ... moreand then some small flakes and glaze pecks along top rim as shown. None of these are deep or of any large size. An antique blue decorated stoneware crock which is stamped"1-1/2" gallon on the front. There is no maker's mark or stamp. The crock is approximately 6-3/8" tall and 9-7/8" wide across the top. The blue decoration is in a beautiful state of repair with virtually no wear. There is a large chip to the rim right of center on the side. Measuring nearly 2.25" in length. There is also a hairline on the back of the piece, which starts at the rim and extends about 4" downward. 2.5 liter two handled salt glazed primitive crock Salt glaze butter churn/crock. Or jar double handles. Pattern is possibly a Tulip and is on both sides. Vessel is a grey coloration. 2 1/2 L is painted on one side. The handles have cross hatching. Also have circular lines below each side. Please view the photos carefully as they are a part of the description. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, damage, or repairs that I've found. Measures as follows: 8 1/4" tall, top opens approx 4 3/4" across, and diameter with handles is 7 1/4" across. Towards the top rim up of one of the designs you will see a brownish dark stain that appears to be original as it is glazed over. There are no signatures but it looks very much like a German Westerwald piece. I bought three together as a coordinating set. Filled with fall flowers ... morethey are gorgeous! Antique stoneware crock cobalt handle decoration two 2 gallon 11.5" tall
An antique two gallon stoneware crock measuring approximately 11.5" tall(the dollar bill is shown for size comparison only) and with cobalt decoration accentuating the handles on either side. There is also cobalt coloring on the impressed number"2" near the top on the front of the crock. We count five chips to the rim on top. The largest of which measures just shy of 1" wide, and the smallest about 1/8" wide. A hairline extends from one of the chips, down and diagonally to the left about 2" just above the left handle of the crock) A second hairline begins on the very bottom underside of the crock near the center, outward to the edge(there is a tiny hole/chip at the point on the bottom edge, looks like the point of impact) and up about 1-3/8" from the bottom edge, where it becomes a three way hairline, extending ... moreapproximately 7/8" to the right and 1-1/4" to the left. There is another area of distress on the bottom, from which a hairline extends to the edge and up the side about 1" There are also plenty of the typical dings here and there, glaze skips, and other small imperfections but we tried to outline the major issues specifically. The hairlines are tight and the crock is structurally sound, so it displays very well. We do not know the maker or the region of origin and we cannot find any sort of mark or signature. We are always happy to combine shipping costs on multiple auctions. We take extra care and pack items well& always ship in a timely(FAST) manner. We do not package items before they are sold. Shipping information is plugged in to the listing with an estimate of boxed weight. Sometimes buyers pay less than actual shipping. Sometimes its more. We try to be as accurate as possible. Shoppers know ahead of time what they will be paying for shipping. Thanks!
