Stoneware was once an almost universal material in American homes. The versatile. Nonporous ceramic made ideal containers of all kinds, including the ubiquitous stoneware crock. Stoneware is made of gray and tan clays fired to a high temperature. As there were few American producers prior to 1800, most existing antique stoneware crocks date from the 19th century. Offering Antique Two Tone Beige and Brown 4 Gallon Stoneware Crock in good antique condition. Measures 11 1/4" tall and 11.5" in diameter. Crock has a very small crack and it can't hold liquid. Two tone Dark brown glazed pottery 3 gallon crock lid. Has a decorative unglazed circle and button handle. Measures about 11" in diameter for a crock with a 9" opening. In good condition with a fairly substantial nick on the inner rim but doesn't affect a good fit. Has no cracks but has some"water spots" and some lines in the glazing(not cracks) Another E-bayer had a very similar lid at auction and said it is an Illionios or Ohio Pottery lid. Antique Two Tone Brown & Beige Crock / Canister w/ Lid - Free Shipping

The lid fits perfect but it is a darker brown than the other. I don't know if it was meant to be like this or another lip was put on it. There is a small chip on the outside of the crock at the bottom edge and a small chip where the color turns from beige to brown. The crock measures 4 3/4" across the bottom 3 1/2" at the opening and is 7" tall with the lid on. I do have the item pictured with a soda can or an orange ruler to help with visual size comparisons. A true antique crock. I'm selling the old pottery piece for my friend. She's 92& asked me to list it. The crock came from her home place. In Bybee, Tn. where she was born& raised. She moved from the family farm in 1960. She remembers the crock as a small child. She was born in 1920 so this crock is definitely an antique. Great condition. No chips. A couple very light. Glaze hairline cracks that you need extra light to see& doesn't take away or cause any issues. The stoneware crock is 6" tall& 5.75" across the top. Two tone or two shades of brown. Antique Vintage 5 Gallon Crock Stoneware 2 Tone Labeled G Fox & Co Glazed Brown
This 5 gallon two-toned crock came from an auction in Vermont. It has a label from the G. Fox& Co. Hartford, Conn, see the 5th picture, on the side. It must have been delivered by the G. Fox& Co. I found out the G stands for Gerson who owned this large department store. It said that they made deliveries by wheelbarrow. The crock measures 13" high and 11 3/8" in diameter. There is a chip on the bottom edge, see the 10th picture. There is a crack that starts on one side where the brown turns to tan and runs down to the middle of the bottom. There are 3 indentations on the bottom edge that must have been made during the manufacturing process because they are glazed over. There are some drips marks, see the 2nd picture. There are also residue marks on the inside.

2 Tone Brown Rustic Crock. Says Cookies on one side. It measures 7 1/2 inches tall by 6 inches across at the top. Bought at auction so I know no background. Marked on the bottom-Ovenproof USA. It has 2 chips, one inside the top, approx. 3/4 inch and one outside the rim-less then half inch. Please refer to photos for the best description.

Spoons not included In very good condition.appears it had a slight nick from bottom that has been repaired. See photos 11 and 12.
