Antique Primitive Hand Painted Stoneware Covered Crock/Jar Description. This is a Fantastic Antique Tall Stoneware covered crock/jar with hand painted floral design. This was acquired from an elderly estate in excellent Antique condition with normal signs of age and wear/loss of paint. The crock/jar measures app 9 and 1/8" in height by app 6.5" across the base. There are no cracks or breaks. But does have some mild chipping on the edge of the lid(see pictures) and normal glaze blemish's that you would expect in old Stoneware(see pictures) as well as wear to the painted floral design on the front of the jar at the rim and on the lid most of the paint is worn. Offering antique 19th century large covered stoneware salt glaze butter crock with mold fruit and floral decoration on the body of the crock and the lid. The condition of the crock is excellent. The lid has one small flat flake on the ede only. The background of the surface has been decorated with molded wave pattern- see pictures. The name BUTTER is molded on the front of the crock.There is original metal wire handle. It is 6 3/4" in diameter and 3 1/2" deep. Measures with the lid the covered butter crock is 4 1/8" tall and the lid is 6 5/8" across. Weight before packing is 3.12 lbs. This is old item and demonstrate characteristic of age including wear on the bottom and top edge. Offered is this Royal Blue Stoneware Covered Baker. Embossed on the underside of the base is" USA"This heavy cooking dish measures 9 5/8 inches in diameter. 3 1/2 inches deep and 6 inches tall. The weight is 5 pounds 3 ounces. There is a vertical hairline crack that runs 1 1/4 inches down from the rim on the lower piece. The last two pictures show this area in detail. There are no other cracks and no chips. There are a few tiny production glaze pops and hard to see crazing.

A pair of Weir Pottery Stoneware Covered Crocks with working Ball Cock Handles in very good, gently used condition. This pair of Crocks are without chips. Hairline fractures, crazing, staining, or repairs, however the crock on the right has a few rough spots on the inside rim which can be seen in picture#4 and#9. Both Crocks and Lids are sparkling clean and shiny and ready-to-use or display. Crocks are 8" high with the lid on. By 6-1/2" high without the lid, by 4-1/2" in diameter at the mouth, by aprox. 5-1/2" wide. Each crock weighs aprox. three pounds. Seven ounces. Listing is for both crocks as one item.
