An Estate Sale acquisition: Ceramic pot with pouring spout and handle. There is a makers mark on the end of the handle. But I'm unable to determine what it says. Measurements: 5 3/4" high. Mouth is approx. 4" across at the inside, and crock at the widest point is approx. 6 1/2" Crock does not have any chips. No visible cracks from use, and is sold as found. Could use a good cleaning. Interesting. Old cream or milk pitcher in the primitive style. This is clearly a production piece, and not someone's art project, but it is rather crudely made, and has an uneven glaze. It came from an antique estate clearance, and I would guess that it's a genuine antique. I'm not sure of the age, or origin. Up for auction is a very old ca. 1800’s Peoria or Minnesota pottery#4 batter pitcher. This item was found at a pioneer sale in Oregon. Many items at this sale were 1800’s. This pitcher is 10 inches tall. Has a wire bale with a wooden handle and is pottery. There are a few pottery nicks on one side. But the other side is in very good condition. I have lived in Minnesota. Home of Red Wing pottery and seen lots of old pottery. This is the first batter pitcher that I have seen with a bale on it. Buyers—carefull packing of this item is a must.
