This is a grayish/sand stone color with pink flower and green leaves painted on it. There are no chips and cracks on this item. Actually I see a tiny flea bite around the top edge and a small black mark. This is a heavy dish. It measures 10 1/2 by 11 inches. It sits approx 2 1/2 inches high off of the table. This was acquired from an elderly estate in excellent Antique condition with normal signs of age and wear/loss of paint. The crock/jar measures app 9 and 1/8" in height by app 6.5" across the base. There are no cracks or breaks. But does have some mild chipping on the edge of the lid(see pictures) and normal glaze blemish's that you would expect in old Stoneware(see pictures) as well as wear to the painted floral design on the front of the jar at the rim and on the lid most of the paint is worn. I have had this piece in my personal collection for years and have not been able to identify it. Any experts out there are welcome and encouraged to comment on this piece. This is an interesting ovoid stoneware jar. It has no lid. It holds almost 1 gallon. It has a very nice coggle design under the hand painted design. I think this crock may be from the North East as the design is of a river running into the sea with the waves crashing on to the high cliffs. If it were from the south east you would think it would be less green and lower beach area. But this is only a guess. The painted sunflowers are likely a later addition. Wire bale handle with turned wood painted sage or avocado green. Some chipping to the paint and crazing on the glaze. Addition to listing: After more research it appears to be Persian. Possibly Iran? I am getting different information on the age. Some say 17th or 18th century others say early 20th century. This listing is for an old Stone Jug. I don't know the history of it or who it was made by. I am hoping someone can help identify the maker or any information would be helpful. It appears to be stone with an enamel coating? It isn't perfectly symetrical. The jug stands about 6.25 inches tall. 4 1/8th across and 2 inches deep. I won it in a box lot at an estate auction. Antique Stoneware Ironstone Pot Crock With Lid Hand Painted Rose-Illegible Mark
Antique Ironstone/Stoneware Hand Painted Pot/Crock With Lid Illegible Maker's Mark- This is a nice old hand painted ironstone pot or covered container. With an illegible mark that I wish someone could help me identify. I've looked through every antique pottery mark I could find. But couldn't find this one. It appears to be written in English because one of the words in the center circle is clearly'ware' The pot is 4 1/2" tall and 6" to the top of the lid handle when the lid is on. It is 5 3/4" in diameter at the widest opening and the lid is 5 1/8" in diameter. The rose motif is clearly hand painted with a pearly. Iridescent glaze over it. Some of the areas at the bottom of the circles with the roses have a purplish hue. CONDITION It's in very nice condition for its age with some discoloration around ... morethe inside lip that isn't protected by the glaze.this is of both the pot and lid. There are a couple of minor chips. Or crazing under the pot. There are minor white spots on the lid handle. I'll say now that I believe it's ironstone. But it may be stoneware. This beautiful old crock was purchased at the estate sale of a collector. It is about 8 1/2 inches tall and 6 1/2 inches diameter at the opening. The unusual design includes a raised floral pattern that is hand painted. The paint is worn off some with age and use. Most of these old crocks were used in the kitchen on a daily basis- possibly as a cookie jar or lard container- so it is common to have chips as this one does around the lid. Someone has painted it brown and has toll painted a pair of ducks on the side. I am not an expert but the paint could possibly come off with paint remover? Stands right at 9.5 to 10" tall, has a base diameter of 7" across. It has an A on the side towards the bottom where the handle is. Minor imperfections as crocks go, no cracks that I can see. Earthy clay piece which is handpainted with sunflowers and sage green trim along mouth. Measures approx 5.75" high with a base of 4 5/8" across, and mouth opening"hole part" of 2.75" There is no lid. We believe this to be from the 1800s. The painted sunflowers are likely a later addition. Wire bale handle with turned wood painted sage or avocado green. Some chipping to the paint and crazing on the glaze. I see 2 hairline cracks which I can't feel as they are under the glaze. Beautiful primitive piece would be a great planter. Pottery stoneware jar butter crock salt dip grease pot Hand Painted Flowers
Welcome to my auction. This auction is for a vintage stoneware crock. It says Grease on one side and the other side has a painted picture of flowers. There are no manufactures markings that I can find. There is no lid. It is 5” tall and about 5 ½” across at the opening. It has a tiny little ding about center on the bottom rim below the picture of the flowers. I don’t see any other damage. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions prior to bidding. Vintage 1940'S Ransburg Pottery Stoneware Cookie Jar hand painted Flowers Orange
This cookie jar from Ransburg Pottery in Indiana. Is glazed in a wonderful, rich reddish orange with hand painted flowers in greens and yellows. It is 9" high x 8" at its widest point. It charmingly shows its age, mainly with paint loss from use, but it does have one chip on one of the handles(see photos of all) Otherwise it is sound with no cracks or breaks. A wonderful addition to any collection. Or to a country kitchen. This cookie jar has many years left of good use. Please note that I do not accept returns. White Porcelain Stoneware Crock Painted w Blue Oxide American Folk Art,1900-1940
This is an extremely charming old stoneware crock painted with blue oxide. It probably dates from the mid to early 20th century. It is in very good condition- no chipping or faded paint. It does have a faint hairline crack on its off side. It would look quite fabulous holding cooking utensils on the counter top of a country kitchen. Vintage hand Painted small stoneware crock with wood handle and original lid
This hand painted crock measures approximately 5 3/8" high x 4 3/4" diameter base and a 2 3/4" opening at the top. I would say it is a quart size crock. It has been painted on the outside all black and a pair of parakeet's perched on a rose bush branch with roses.
