Up for bid is an Early. Stoneware Whiskey Crock Jug. The jug measures 11- 1/2 inches tall. And the base is 6-3/4 inches in diameter. Due to age and use there are some imperfections. There is a chip in the top(picture#8) lots of crazing, and some manufacturer imperfections(picture#4 and 5) There are also some cracks at the base of the jug(picture#3) but the cracks do not compromise the integrity of the jug. Antique Brown and White Moonshine Crock Jug
This is an antique white and brown cone top crock jug. It measure 11 inches tall and 6 ¼ inches across the bottom. Areas of the dark brown cone looks like it has been salted. There is one small chip on the neck of the jar otherwise it is good condition. The cork is not original to the jug. It does not have any cracks or repairs. This jug is very heavy and weighs 6 pounds. Please see the pictures for the design details and the quality of this jug.

This is an authentic antique stoneware jug which measures approximately 8-1/2 inches tall by 7-1/2 inches in diameter. It has a chip at the neck. See picture, and several small"flaws" on the body, see pictures. There are not any cracks that I can find. There are marks on the jug which might appear in the pictures to be cracks but they are really just marks(possible pencil marks) This jug was found under a really old house in Texas about 70 years ago. It is a heavy piece, nearly 5 pounds. Antique? Alabama Brown Glaze Stoneware Crock Jug Pottery Antique? brown jug with handle. Crock pottery whiskey Measures 8 inches tall. 6-1/2 inches wide; 20" around. There are several"imperfections" in the glaze and surface of the jug. There are some"scratches" which might be a signature which you can see in the 2nd picture, near the bottom, about the middle. The cork is inside the jug; it is falling apart. The cork fell inside the jug when I tried to remove it to see what might be inside. There is chip out of the bottom edge- see picture 11. Next to last picture. Weight is 4 pounds and 1 ounce. Background on this jug- This jug belonged to my stepfather who passed away several years ago. He was born in 1914. He was making and selling moonshine at the age of 10- for a nickel a bottle(if I remember correctly what he ... moretold me) He was plowing a 40-acre field at the age of 11- with a team of mules. I don't know when or where he acquired this jug. It sat on his front porch for years. You can look at the pictures and make your own judgment about the age. He lived in the Sand Mountain area for a while in his youth so he could have gotten it there.

Here's another from the pit of yesteryear. This is a 1 qt. salt glazed moonshine jug in excellent condition. The poor little thing has a rust stain on one side. But the other side is as clean as it can be considering how long it was under ground. There no condition situations with it than the brown stain on the left handers side. But I'm working on that. Don't know what was in it in the beginning just wish it still had it. Cause it were probly a goodin with no bubbles to the shake. Primative 1/2 Gallon White Crock Moonshine Jug Cork Stopper in Top Chips/Cracked
This auction is for a 1/2 gallon white stoneware crock moonshine whiskey jug. This stands right at 9.5" tall and has a base diameter of right at 5.75" across. The handle appears to have been repaired on it as you can see in the photos. There are chips around the bottom. A couple on the top and one on the rim. Also has a fracture closer to the bottom. All of these add to the charm of crocks, few are found in perfect condition. This is a nice collectible or decorative piece. Coming from a smoke and pet free home. Good luck and happy bidding!

I think this crock is a 1 to 1 1/2 gallon crock. It is about 11" tall by 9" at the widest point. The crock is in excellent condition. There is only a small chip on the bottom. My pinky finger is pointing to the chip in pic#5. I read that this company was founded in 1874. They intruduced lysol in the 1890s.

Genuine Antique Moonshine Stone Jug/Crock
This is a beautiful Piece. While taking a trip through the Smokey Mountains I was able to do some hiking and found a very old broken down shed. What was left of the roof was caved in and I had to crawl on my belly to get into a small crawl space. I could see that there was an old still or pieces of a one and a pile of broken crocks. The weeds were growing in and around all of the rusted and broken materials. But I was able to find 2 jugs, in perfect condition. you are viewing one of those. This Beautiful Jug is 9" high and 6" in diameter. It is a wonderful piece of history and needs to be shared. I am now willing to let them go.
