Vintage miniature stoneware crockery MIJ Jug Made in Japan pottery mini 2"
This is a vintage white stoneware crockery Jug with Cork stopper made in Japan. Japan is engraved at the backside near the base. This little jug stands approx 2 inches high. The base diameter is approx 1 inch. It has its original cork. But the cork has a tendency to fall within the jug when touched. It had fallen inside when I tood the photos. Stoneware Pottery Crock Miniature Cobalt Blue Four Leaf Clover Rumborf
This miniature speckled stoneware crock has a deep colbalt blue four leaf clover and blue circles on either side of it and the name Rumborf on the other side(if I am reading it correctly? I do not know much about it except that I bought it in an antique shop and I can not find anything on the name on the internet. I did find that there was a potter in Maryland that often painted clovers and the clay was speckled. A wonderful miniature stoneware piece. Could be used for melted butter or as a cordial or could be planter in doll house. Offering a very unusual little crock Roasting bowl measuring three inches in diameter. Decorated with lined panels and swags. Inside is glazed. Made in 1906 by Midland pottery in Zanesville. Ohio. It measures about 3" tall. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There is a small bit of stray blue color bleeding over into the white(really more of an off-white) portion. From the great patina and old crockery feel. This darling duo appear to be quite old. Condition: This charming stoneware set is in very good condition. The glaze does have the usual. But minor, imperfections which include a couple of very small chips at inner edge of coffee pot lid and fleabite chips or flakes on edge of coffee pot spout. The lower portion at bottom of pot is unglazed as is the outside of bowl. The unglazed areas have darkened slightly, ... moremost likely from age and handling. The crock bowl has no chips, cracks, or crazing and the wire and wood handle at tached to the crock bowl is in very good sound condition. At bottom of coffee pot and bowl there is a molded"Bohemian" mark. This may have been a salesman sample or perhaps a childs toy. Whichever. A wonderful addition to any vintage collection! Moira Pottery was in business from 1922-1972 and produced mainly utilitarian stoneware. Measures 3 1/4" x 2 1/2" and includes the cover making this little crock a very rare gem based on it's scarce diminutive size and the inclusion of the rarely found unbroken cover. Dates to the 1920's or 1930's as indicated by the early stamp on the base. see photos) In tip-top condition with no chips or cracks. Including the cover. This offer is for a miniature stoneware jug circa 1890's. It was made for Cambridge Springs. PA which was know for its mineral water. This was probably a sample jug of the mineral water. It is 3 inches tall not including the little wood and wire handle. There are no cracks or chips. The brown paint missed a spot in the back and a tiny spot in the front. You are bidding on a collection of 12 miniature jugs& pitchers- two pitchers- 10 jugs. The largest are the pitchers and they measure approx. 1 1/2 in. high to the smallest jug which is approx. 5/8 in. high. All in very good condition except for the Meredith's Diamond Club Whiskey which is missing it's handle- photographed. Some are on a red clay with striped glazing. Some have a Rockingham glaze, some brown, one white, one has blue drip over the white. They are crude but done that way and no other damage other than what I stated above. I believe that I had read at some point that other than being give-a-ways at the stoneware factories, some were made for watch fobs which would explain the handle being off the Meredith jug.
