Small Brown Beehive Stone Crock Jar with Metal Lid Insert
Small Brown Beehive Stone Crock Jar with Metal Lid Insert Solid No Cracks. The opening at the top is 2" the metal insert looks like it would come out. It is sitting in there crooked and I'm not going to attempt to remove it. The base is about 5 1/4" and it's about 6 1/2" tall. There are a couple of small chigger bites in the lip which can be seen in the photos. I don't see any cracks in the jar itself although the finish has crackling as would be expected. This auction is for an antique 1 gallon stoneware crock jar with original lid and cup. The crock is in great condition. No cracks or breaks. It has a couple little chips along the top edge. But could be mold chips. They look like they've been there for awhile. The lid does have some rust damage, and has a couple spots where it's gone though(pictured) The cup has some rust and has one 1/2" crack(pictured) Measures 10" tall with the cup on it, and 7" wide. Vintage 1920's/1930's or earlier crock jar. It measures 7 1/2" tall and 6 1/8" outside diameter at top. The capacity looks like 1- 1 1/4 gallons. It is a heavy thick wall salt glaze glazed stoneware stone ware pottery jug with lid. Metal bale handle and wood wooden black handle grip in excellent condition. The bottom is unglazed. The inside is glazed. The crock displays beautifully and shows no damage at all with the exception of some normal use wear on the unglazed top rim. This is a very well made heavy, thick walled crock. There are no chips or cracks and the spigot has been cleaned and new gaskets installed so it is watertight. There are no marking on the base but when doing research. Seems the crown is a mark from the Robinson Ransbottom Brothers company. This incredible vintage find is made of thick pottery. Standing approx. 5" tall it features a round base measuring approx. 3 1/4" round. The exterior is finished with a shiny brown glaze. Some crazing is present from age. Very thin hairline vertical fracture down the side(doesn't go clear through) Several small chips along bottom edge. Old BLUE & WHITE STONEWARE CROCK w LID and Metal handle Large OLD
This is a very nice. Old, blue and white hand painted crock w navy blue lid and metal(I think it's wrought iron) handle. The piece is quite heavy. Measures 8 inches across by 5 inches high I am not an expert but I think this is quite old. We live in a historic home(300 years old and George Washington and his troops stayed here a number of times while camped in Valley Forge) and this was found in the garden. I washed it gently with soap and water. We were surprised at the unbelievable condition and how well the piece sustained the elements. There are a number of chips. Some large, some small and stains in some areas. I have tried to capture any imperfections that I see but please ask for additional photos and ask questions if you have any doubts or concerns. I am listing this with the hopes that someone will have some idea what it was ... moreused for and its origin. I also want this to go to a great home where it will be cared for and appreciated for its unique antiquity and beauty. Please see the photos as they are the largest piece of the description. Again. Vintage Large STONEWEAR CROCK with LID & METAL BALE Brown & Tan
A unique stoneware crock. The crock is glazed in brown and the top and a clear. Natural beige at the bottom. It is 7 5/8 inches to the lip of the crock, with an additional 1 1/2" to the top of the lid. It is 5 inches across the base and the cap is 3 1/4" across the base. The lid has some writing. I can make out"No. 2, E Weir Pat. Jar 1st 02. April 18 1901. The lid is held in place by a metal bale, which fits into a cross-like indentation in the lid, where it is held securely in place with a metal piece that reminds me of the metal part of a belt buckle. It weighs slightly over 3 pounds. The crock is in excellent condition. There are small few rough areas, I think they are manufacturing errors, where the item was not glazed. Very nice, unusual piece. A Model T Truck with a Christmas tree in the back, under the oval it has, Christmas 86 Measures approx. 5 1/4" tall with the lid's knob. 4 3/8" in diameter at the top rim of the bottom piece and it is 3 7/8" high Excellent used condition for being 29 years old. Does not have a seal ring, metal needs cleaned a little, shows a little wear around the top rim, possibly from the lid rubbing it, two tiny white spots towards the bottom in the front under the scene, could be manufacturer white runs Payments must be made within three days. Antique Glazed Stoneware Crock-Lid, Metal Handle & Clamp-Weir-Pat Date 3/1/1892
Offered is this antique glazed beige and dark brown stoneware crock with lid. The crock has a wire handle and metal piece that clamps down into a groove in the lid to hold the lid on. The lid is marked"The Weir Pat. Mar 1st 1892" The crock sits about 9" high including the lid and handle and is about 5 3/4" in diameter at the base. I have not measured its capacity but looks like it might be as much as 1/2 gallon. It is in good to very good condition. On the plus side. The wire handle, metal clamp and lid are intact and still function, the outside glazing is almost entirely intact and the inside is almost completely glazed. However. There is a chip and other wear on the top of the lid, a chip on the inside rim of the underside of the lid, a small chip and other marks on the border between the beige and dark brown glaze and ... morea thin crack at the base extending almost half-way around and a hairline crack across part of the bottom.
