Antique/Vintage Brown & White Salt Glazed Stoneware Crock/Jar-1 Gallon-FREE SHIP
Hello& Welcome, Here's a fantastic old stoneware crock that's still in great condition. It holds one gallon filled to its brim and measures approximately 9 3/4" high. 6 1/4" wide at the bottom& 5 1/2" wide at the top. The opening is 4" wide and it has a tapered neck. The glazing on this crock is in beautiful condition, inside and out. The crock has no markings on it but I suspect it was made locally as S.E. Ohio was/is well known for its good clay soils for producing pottery, ceramics& glass. Within one half hour of where I live is where the homes of such companies as Roseville Pottery, Hull Pottery, Hall Pottery, Anchor-Hocking Glass, Hocking Glass, Fenton, McCoy Pottery, etc. were located. This old crock, though it is missing its lid(like many) is in very, very good condition with no cracks, nicks, ... moreetc. and would make a great addition to any collection. Should you have any questions, please ask. Thank you for stopping by and please visit my store for much more pottery, glass& many other finer things when you get time. PS-I gladly ship internationally but please contact me first before bidding/purchasing for an accurate shipping cost as it may be lower. Or higher than what's listed. T.F. REPPERT Greensboro PA Antique Stoneware Crock Jar Grey Blue 2 Gallon Plow
T.F. Reppert antique stoneware crock from Greensboro PA. Sadly this one is broken. It was shipped to my father and didn't survive the trip. He is thinning out his collection beginning with the broken ones. This was broken into pieces and glue repaired. I'm sure a professional repair job could be possible. But this feels pretty sturdy as is. It would not hold water but still displays well. It's a beautiful piece of history that can't be replaced and shouldn't just be thrown away because it's broken. So, in it's AS IS state, with this low starting price I would say this would be a great piece to bulk up a growing or new collection, or for shelf display. Low starting price for a piece that would be worth over $200 in mint condition. This is a 2 gallon crock that measures 7.25" across the top, 12" tall, and ... more7.5" across the bottom. It has a blue band at the top and at the bottom. One squiggly line near top. It says T F Reppert, Greensboro PA, features a plow design in the center and has a number 2 with arrows on each side. I've tried to photograph this in as much detail as possible, so please see pics for exact condition. I will bubble wrap, double box, paper shred or peanut this to make it as safe for shipping as possible. Please ask any questions before bidding, Thank you for looking! Antique Gallon Salt Glaze Stoneware Pottery Storage Jar Turkey Droppings
This is a Beautiful Antique Primitive Vintage Salt glazed stoneware pottery storage jar that looks like a gallon size to me with one big Turkey dropping(dripping? on what i am calling the front. And bits of turkey dropping brown color on the inside rim. This is a grayish white clay pottery color, glazed brown inside so I estimate this as late 1800s to early 1900s, but I am no expert. I believe this to be hand-turned as I feel some ridges inside, and see the knife scraping line going round the middle of jar outside, and don't see any seam, but again, I am no expert. It has no markings. Please be sure to look at all pictures and see more condition details above this item description. I think the beautiful lines and positioning of the turkey dripping makes this jar a very attractive primitive storage jar or crock jar for your vintage home ... moreor farmhouse. It was purchased in the Midwest(in a Northshore suburb of Chicago. Illinois, to be exact) It measures: 9 inches tall 23.5 inches in circumference around the middle 5 inches in diameter across the top opening( not the inner rim opening. The very top opening) 7 inches in diameter across the bottom Please see my other Vintage Ceramic Pottery items. Clothing and collectibles. RARE G&A BLACK SOMERSET COUNTY PA STONEWARE CROCK DECORATED 1 GALLON JAR
Out of my personal collection I bring you this early Somerset County stoneware crock that was made by the black family. This has the form. The capacity mark, and the firing block marks on the bottom like the majority of the Black crocks. The blue decoration is one you don't see often, making this a much harder to find crock than your average doe print ones. This crock is in great shape with only a small rim flea bite as you can see in the photos. We have an extensive collection of Black crocks and have seen many of them over the years. Trust me when I say this is a Black crock. Shipping will be 22.00 or I can meet the buyer on this one. BUY IT NOW OR MAKE US AN OFFER ON THIS RARE ONE.
Pennsylvania PA Stoneware Conrad New Geneva 2 Gallon 12" tall Crock Sealer Jar
I know nothing about pottery. Forgive the terms I use. This 12" tall crock has a scallop chip on the inside, clear from the picture, chip doesn't extend through the piece, you can't see light through it. There are 2 main cracks, kiln cracks( I don't know, but they don't seem to extend through to the inside of the crock; crock seems to have two thick layers, an inside layer& a thick glaze layer. 1st crack is at 12 o'clock if the face were at 6 o'clock, and the 2nd crack is at 9 o' clock. Both cracks have"tributary" cracks, and the cracks both connect to each other along the bottom of the piece. Inside of the piece seems to show no such cracks, so it may be a crack of the glaze only. The crack along the bottom at 12 o'clock is a tight crack that also goes through on the outside but can't ... morebe seen on the inside. There's also a minor crack along the bottom and lower side at 6 o'clock. It also isn't seen on the inside. Any questions, please ask. I'm around for US business hours.
