USA 2 Quart Brown Double Handle Bean Pot with Lid Shiny, Nice & Clean
This is a vintage 2 quart size. Shiny brown glaze, bean pot with lid. It is marked on the unglazed bottom"U.S.A. The pot measures 6 1/2" tall to the top of the lid finial. It is 8" wide from the outside edge of the handle to the outside edge of the handle on the opposite side. It is very clean and shiny and has no chips, cracks, or crazing but does have an area where the glaze is very light on the rim and two areas of glaze flecks, areas that had air bubbles trapped underneath the glaze during the firing process that have flecked off, one area on one handle and the other area is on the side of the pot. There is also a small nib of excess clay trapped in the glaze near the unside rim of the lid. Nice useable addition to your collection. Buyer prepays + shipping via parcel post because of the weight. For sale is a Louisville Pottery Stoneware 3 Gallon Double Handle Crock or Churn. I have seen these used also as Umbrella Stands. The crock is 13.5" tall and 11" from handle to handle. The crock's mark according to" Lehner's Encyclopedia of U.S. Marks on Pottery. Porcelain& Clay" is referred to as"Indian Head" and was probably made in the 1940's. It is very heavy weighing almost 14 pounds. The crock is in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Please examine the photos carefully. Rare Antique 4 Gal. Salt Glaze Double Handle Stoneware Butter Churn Plunger Lid
This is a large heavy butter churn with an incised 4(4 gallon? but there are no other markings. Churn stands approx 15" high x 10" wide. And outer rim is 8" inner rim opening 6 1/2" The wooden paddle pole is pretty old, disc area is a little warped, and you can see some splits in the wood but is definately old! The rim has a shallow chip( it is smooth, not sure if it is from wear. Please review all 12 photo's and message us with any questions. Will pack in 2 separate packages due to the weight of the crock. This is a very cool item. A double handled glazed Scrock that might be called a"bean pot" This was definitely not a mass produced item. I estimate it as circa 1900. Description of Condition: See photos above. Excellent used condition. There is NO lid. No chips or cracks. As shown in photo# 6. There are some small defects in the glaze near the bottom rim, on the side OPPOSITE the one that has the number"3" on it. They are not visible when the pot is displayed to show the number"3" These defects appear to me to be original production flaws, not any acquired damage. The upper rim and the base are not glazed. There are no markings that would identify the maker of this crock. Approximate measurements: Height is 6.25 inches. Base has 7 inch diameter. Mouth diameter is 6.25 inches. Width from end of one handle to end ... moreof other handle is 9.5 inches. Approximate weight is about 5.25 lbs.
