A 19th century blue decorated two gallon open stoneware crock by Hamilton& Jones. Greensboro, PA. It measures just shy of 12.5" tall and the ... moretop is about 7.25" across. Not a hairline to be found anywhere, only some rim chips- the largest measuring just over half an inch in length, just right of center on the top rim. Two more which are very tiny- both toward the back on the inner rim, less than a quarter inch each. There is wear to the blue decoration, but the stenciling is plenty legible. There is also some yellowish staining on either side of the crock. Other minor imperfections such as tiny dings and glaze skips, of which we are unsure whether they occurred in manufacturing. Displays very well and structurally sound. Please view the images for condition details. As they are part of the description and they are of the actual item you will receive. It may be an antique. But I don't know for sure. It looks dirty with spots all over it on the outside. The inside looks much cleaner and is coated with a glazing of some kind. There is a chip on the rim edge and bottom edge. See photo for chip on the rim edge. I couldn't get a good picture of the chip on the bottom edge because it blends in to the coloring so well. more pictures below description* This large pot is a bit of a mystery. I believe it is oriental or middle eastern. It has a Naga, serpent or dragon on it. It is 16" tall, 17" across top and 11.25" across the bottom. It weighs 37 pounds- it's big& heavy! There are indications that say this might be handmade, like how the glaze does not entirely cover all areas, especially on the outside near the bottom and some other glaze flaws. Also, the brown drip marks present around the outside top. There are many abrasions and marks but still displays well. Antique Western Pottery Antonio Hand Made Decanter Crock JUG with Lid Vase ERN
Dont have much information on this decanter. Can barely make out the stamp on the bottom, it reads Antonio. Not for certain but think it says ITALY after that. The jug has a minor chip at the bottom on the rim and a chip on the lid, also has a few scratches. The Decanter measures approximately 12 inches tall and has a diameter of 3 1/2 inches at the base. 1800's Early 1900's Very Rare Antique Stoneware Vase Shaped Crock 14 1/2 X 7 1/2
Beautiful antique 19th century stoneware crock brown. Orange and gold color.Crock stands 14 1/2inches tall by 7 1/2 inches at the top and the base and about 9 inches wide at the widest spot. Crock is in mint condition all around. The crock is totally solid with no cracks. The crock does not have any markings other than the lettering on the bottom. Gloss is perfect all around. It has two very clear lines that go around it about four inches down from the top. This is one of the most beautiful crocks I have ever owned, you will not disappointed. I am not an expert on crocks but feel this one is very unique. It came out of a basement in Maine along with several others I am listing. Feel free to email any questions.
