ANTIQUE 1900'S LANDERS FRARY CLARK UNIVERSAL GALLON JUG-MINER'S Cooler Thermos
As if the miners didn't have enough heavy things to carry. Along came this beautiful but heavy Thermos/ Crock/ Lunch Pail/ Cooler. It is made of very durable metal, with the complete porcelain inside. The porcelain is in excellent condition. the metal is actually in very good condition for its age as well. It has several dents on the outside, but The dents haven't affected the inside porcelain at all. As you can see from the pictures it's a dark navy blue color and has the screw on lid and the crock cover. The handle is made of metal and wood. The bottom of the crock says Landers, Frary and Clark Universal gallon jug patented March 13, 1917 patents pending New Britain Connecticut USA. As you can see especially from the bottom the picture of the bottom of the jack. There is very little rust to the metal. 5 Gallon Stoneware Water Cooler Late 1800s Hotel Pub Bar Crock Jug
Here is a beautiful old water cooler from the late 1800s.doesn't look like it was ever used. It's about 5 gallons with a rich Albany type glaze inside and the upper outside. These were used in saloons. Bars, pubs, hotels and warehouses to hold the refreshment of choice. It is 18" tall.8 1/2" on the base and 38 1/2" around the ovoid middle. I bought it awhile back and was going to get an artist to paint a big red rooster on it and label it red roost rye.as a decorative piece.just didn't happen. The old wooden spigot didn't come with it but I'll throw that in as well. It weighs almost 22 lbs. unboxed so you can figure 25 lbs to your zip from 23851.for postage. On the bottom of the stoneware crock is"CORDLEY HAYES NEW YORK STONEWARE STYLE 90-30, 12 LEONARD STREET, NEW YORK- XXTH CENTURY BOTTLE COOLER. The crock jug is in good condition. You put ice around the crock which cools the water. One spout is to drain the water from the ice and the other is the cool water spout. This thing is heavy so Local pickup is OK.
